I've already answer this, yes on a golem it is the highest dps, but in nearly most to all fights condi virtuoso has the most consistent numbers across the board.

cVirt has a chaos build, which performs almost identical to non-chaos version, and has an even more 2head rotation. Chaos doesn't get used because you want to run staff in PvE, it's used because it's overstacked with dmg modifiers from several traits letting you slot up free stats on gear with no effort.

It doesn't matter if you run staff with it or not, it will most likely be more optimal for a condition build than any other traitline with no dmg modifiers. Not having 120 cdmg stats because of not slotting staff is not as noticeable compared to what you get from the traitline anyway.  cVirt having a duel/illu build in general is an exception rather than a rule due to its weird crit capping concept and hybrid nature. Tf you argue about.

  2. This. I'm not sure exactly how this works from the technical perspective but things like boss model and AOE circles should prioritise rendering before anything else.

In the fight I don't need to see flashy backpacks, friendly aoe and weapon animations, or even friendly player models if it affects important boss mechanics (floating names with invisible models will do just fine), I do, however, need to see crucial aoe circles and mechanics warnings.

Cause not every build in the game needs to be a snowcrows approved build.

I'm not doing raids with it, who cares if i don't reach max golem dps potential.

Besides, even if i did copy the snowcrows build, i wouldn't be able to reach half that dps in a realistic situation.

Snowcrows builds are not just for the raids or bench flexing, they are optimized and, what's more important, tested through versions that you can later adapt using the same basic principles to any other game mode or a particular group composition (or lack of thereof), some of those adaptations are also included there.

And you are not expected to reach golem lvl dps in a non organised environment, but the same basic principles of maximizing your dmg output and efficiency still apply everywhere, you just sometimes adjust for the lack of certain boons. For some reason people think that snowcrows builds are only able to function in a very specific fight on a very specific boss with a very specific group composition, they are not.

But I specifically mentioned snowcrows variation because it's very similar to yours but uses a more optimized gear setup (like krait rune instead of mad king), which suits both open world and instanced content (aka strikes). Also, even tho you mentioned "a non golem" and realistic environment, ironically you chose to pick Master of Fragmentation trait, that kinda serves no purpose, since your particular setup is already crit capped, instead of Phantasmal force that will help with might supply outside the group.

All in all, I'd still suggest checking the snowcrows build, or you can use their gear optimizer to come up with a still optimized setup for your specific needs, and not guessing whether this or that sigil/rune/stat piece is better than the other.

  4. Why not just use an already optimized and tested snowcrows setup ?

t's hybrid as well, caps on bleed duration and considers crit capping in organised 10 man, so you will have no issues transitioning between open world and any instanced content without performance dips.

  5. It still boggles my mind that people complain about gear acquisition in 2022, considering how the whole acquisition thing has been streamlined throughout the years to the point you can spend virtually 0 gold for a full set of any kind of exotic or ascended gear. But, god forbid, you need to actually farm play and invest few days to acquire stuff, in a game where gear is like literally the only relevant thing you have to pay for. Mind boggling.

    Wait.

    A.

    Second.

So you didn't have Transcendence, benefited from having an open world path to an alternative legendary amulet (even though you hated the process), but are arguing no one should want an open world path to legendary gear?

    🤨

Despite your seemingly impeccable deductive skills, I got Transcendence even before the new amulet was announced. And whether I had or didn't have it, has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote earlier.

  7. Yeah, I guess I would suggest trying out some mobile afk games for those pve players who have this list of demands and complaints.

You want an endgame item, which is essentially not required to play any content whatsoever, ESPECIALLY open world, but you don't want to put effort of getting into the more challenging content.
Ok, you have two alternatives then. "But I don't want to interact with other players competitively".
Ok, you have another option where you don't have to fight players. "But it's too long and repeatative, and if I ever see another player, I might have a heart attack".

    Oh well...

I mean, when I was doing "return to..." achievements for the legendary amulet, I loathed the fact that I had to redo all the exceptionally boring story instances with unskippable dialogues, and yet I did it and didn't come here asking for the achievements to change for me. Same goes for the aurora and vision timegated and tedious achievements, as well as world and map completion legendary gifts, and gift of craftsmanship.

If you don't enjoy something, maybe you should reconsider your ingame priorities and give it up ? Instead of going on forums every time you stumble upon something that doesn't please you, especially if it's something that's been in the game for years and worked just fine for the majority of the playerbase.

You are not a special snowflake and you're not supposed to have every item in the game.

What a hateful thing to say, this game is supposed to be about inclusivity. There is content in the game for all levels of skill, excluding people from a legendary set because the grind for it in open/story world/mode dont meet your requirements of skill is a real better than thou thing to say.

There is room in this game for a functional legendary set for people that cant do the hard modes. It dont have to be like the envoy set with special effects and looks, everything gets skinned anyway. The point is a set that has the functionality and QoL that you get with the legendary Armory. The looks of the other sets will still announce you clear raids.

There is one for people who can't do the hard modes though. WvW one, and you can make it by simply killing 1 npc every 5 minutes, or 5 npcs every 10 minutes. No need to interact with players at all.

How is that different to, let's say, an open world pve collection with timegated stuff, where you'll be forced to farm the same specific content for x amount of months ? Why bother going through the trouble of creating additional collections, items and currencies when there's already a functional alternative available to virtually every player in the game.

  9. Just add the skinless legendary armor version to the general ow pve with extensive timegate, so these qq threads can finally stop, jesus.

I really don't understand what's stopping pve players to farm wvw armor by just killing sentries and capturing camps, pve at its best, but whatever.

    What?

That's not how it works. You don't get 4 sigils for free. If you're not using the weapon with the stacking sigil, you don't get the stacking sigil bonus.

You don't need to actively play on the second set, you just need to swap to it right before the kill. And when your stacks are maxed out you can forget about swapping altogether.

bruh, emergency waypoints in WvW are NOTHING like the functionality of waypoint deploying via Jade bot.

Emergency waypoint in wvw is static position conditionaly enabled waypoint, visible to everyone in relevant team.

And you are trying to sell in here that it is same, as marking any point in map for a waypoint only you can see? (at least implied to be only seen and usable by you by a mention of "personal" in the blogpost).

It is not nitpicking at "technically" different functionality, those two things ARE DEFINITIVELY different functionalities that requires separate code to work. Claiming it to be same only shows how little you know.

Waypoint is a waypoint. If you think the fact  that emergency waypoint is now movable (function that was most likely specifically disabled for wvw balance purposes, not because it was technically impossible to do) and only available to you (which is basically the same mechanic as only available to your party, your squad, your team) is a brand new functionality, then I guess you might be just impressionable enough for anet to sell that to you. Good for you, I guess. I bet you think specs like Catalyst or Virtuoso are also very distinct, radiating completely new mechanics and design elements. Kappa

I don't consider any of the jade bot features shown new or exciting. Like I said, a wheelchair consisting of recycled mechanics advertised as new. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised after the WvW Alliances were pitched as a new and only expansion feature or half the elite specs turned out to be core rip-offs. To each their own, I suppose.

I am not aware of anything in game that would let you spawn your own private waypoint anywhere in the OW, and definitelly not "existing for ages". Revive orb is also different in functionality as it revides you from defeated, not from downed.

You can spawn an emergency waypoint that can't be contested for your team in WvW.

You can nitpick about what technically is considered a dIfFeRenT fUnctIonAlItY as much as you want, the point is that as it is now, it doesn't offer neither new, nor game changing features, it's a QoL wheelchair that recycles existing mechanics and positions them as a unique selling point because the skin is cute.

  13. I really don't want to downplay all the people working on this, but this is beyond disappointing. I was really hoping the last "hidden" mastery would be something mind blowing, considering "press f to fish" remained one of the main PvE features.

Like, not even remotely this looks like a usp of an expansion. This looks more like an icebrood saga 2.0 type thing. Why even bother creating a model for this pokemon creature, when all it does is the same old features we had in the game for years. Just add a mastery line with extra skill to the glider that updrafts you, extra skill to the boat that... speeds it up (on top of speeding it up from emotes). Alexa, play Deja Vu. Emergency waypoint thing and revive orbs have been in the game for ages, and it's now a unique game changing feature of 3rd! expansion ?

And that on top of the "press f to fish", use boat to "press f to fish" a bit farther away from the coast, because an existing water mount makes this thing absolutely useless everywhere, except when devs purposefully lock events behind it to justify its existence, and another new niche mount (kudos for the new tech tho) ?

No WvW info, except a feature that was supposed to be in "development" even before the xpac was announced. Nothing on sPvP.

Strikes overhaul and elite specs are better be omega exciting on release, because as it is right now, it looks more like the memed "expansion level content" rather than actual expansion.

Don't listen to the negative comments.

The main advantage virtuoso has is that the clone(blades) are pre stocked so there is no ramp up for damage.

Put focus one offhand and group the enemies together and nuke them. Chrono can do something similar but not from range which can make them very micro intentive in open world pve.

My rotation when playing was to focus 4 group up, weapons swap to sword offhand. Phantasm on 5 for ferocity and then hit F1 to nuke the group.

You do realise that a fully charged f1 bladesong is almost equal in dmg to a 1 clone chrono f1 shatter but has a cast time ? What ramp up you're talking about ?

The rest is also applicable to any mesmer spec, which can all shatter from 1200 range too and do not need enemies to be in a line for aoe dmg to occur...

Not sure what advantage you're talking about, virtuoso is definitely going to have an advantage over pchrono in PvE but hardly because of its regressive shatters.

They really want you to win 125 games in one season to get this thing? I thought this game wasn't grindy? That's like hours upon hours of playing. Is the audience for this item people that don't have jobs? I win like under 50% of the games I play. Where else can I go that I can get these trinkets?

You don't have to win 120 games within 1 season. You can progress the achievement over the course of multiple seasons.

@Daishi.6027I dont think deception trait is overperforming NOW.
but you want to buff jaunt to 20s cd and IA to 20s cd.
And since IA procs clone ambush its very easy to use it as an ambush trigger for 3 GS clones, even without IH.
It turns IA into an do everything skill, and having only 20s cd on skill like this would be far too good. I already use it occasionally and get a lot of good value from it, on 20s it would be insane.
Think about it this way, as long as you have at least 1 GS clone, it will
    1 Evade
    2 Teleport
    3 GS ambush
4 Generate a clone ( and since you have at least 1 its at least 2 clones doing the ambush, loads of damage loads of vuln, loads of chaos during a fight )

you can also think about IA this way:

you risk getting ported into an aoe
you risk getting ported into random corner/behind the wall
you risk wasting the skill on the spot if the enemy moves 1 step away from 1200 range
it does not detarget ai/mobs when used (or at least they instantly target you back)
    it doesn’t break stun
it works counterproductive with self-deception when you have 3 clones up (the 3rd clone gets resummoned and doesn’t proc the ambush)

I too think the skill on 20s would be too spammable, but it could use at least a stunbreak or something for its current cooldown and questionable reliability

  17. If holo can spam its nades or necro can spam its wells from behind, there's no reason virtuoso shouldn't be able too, and it's not like it doesn't have huge pink double wind-up animations. Getting ur core mechanic and healing skill yoinked by target strafing off slightly to the side is the clunkiest gameplay feature ever.

yes, the new one (seemingly, we still have two weeks to go for them to give us a curveball) does cost less in gold (potentially zero, if memory serves correctly and again no curveballs in the remaining two weeks). But it is not a ‘free’ legendary. There is significant amount of work required to do it- jumping puzzles, the entirety of four seasons worth of story, significant map completion of over a dozen maps, successful completion of a bunch of metas (and several side quests, looking at the Djinn in season 4) and more. Yes, for many of us, a lot of the content will be ‘easy’, but it’s still a significant time dump.

It is still nowhere near the time dump required for the WvW or PvP trinket. And that's considering you only do 1 return achievement per day which takes what, 1-2 hours a day at max for 3 weeks, less if you do several achievements per day ? (which you totally can, especially the first ones). And you also get a massive rewards bonus for completing them. As well as no gold (debatable) or specific items for gifts, no need to level up crafting specs.

The argument that new players have to purchase episodes is valid, but knowing how many times they were and probably will be given for free again, that's kinda moot too, even more so if you note that most players won't be buying them just for the legendary but also for the mounts, various LS items, achievements and all that. Legendary is a very pleasant bonus.

And saying it requires any resemblance of effort or rather time investment compared to the other ones is just yikes. Everyone should consider it as a Christmas gift from Anet.

  19. I don't see what's wrong with providing an additional incentive for people to fill up their legendary armory, aside from minuscule min/maxing benefit. Unless it's an omega resource intensive thing to implement. If not for the world completion icon, I personally would never have bothered doing it to 100%.
