  1. OG trap DH had both spammable stealth and superspeed with no ICD. No contest there. Public enemy #1. Now though it's definitely DE. They can mess up their opening and it's no big deal because they're always halfway across the map and stealthed again to retry in 15 secs or so. There is absolutely zero fun to be had fighting a DE because of how they play. They can infinitely stall out a 1v1 until they "win."
  2. For what it's worth, I despise mesmer bunker and support builds in pvp because I feel they are like the skyhammer objective. They don't actually win you the match, but they can slow it down to a crawl by denying a lot of mechanics and that is just no fun for anyone. I much prefer the active play style of Mirage & landing those juicy interrupts.
  3. My thoughts exactly. Nerf dagger ambush if need be, but definitely buff dagger 2 & 3 because they are just horrible. I don't like anything about them. They're clunky, dagger 2 doesn't auto face you, but will still go on cooldown. Try it lmfao, turn away from an enemy, press GS 2 or something, you will auto turn and then cast. Now try that with dagger 2. Your character will stand there dumbfounded as your dagger goes on 3 sec CD. This is unacceptable. Dagger 3 is so lame. It does nothing. It is just a pretty graphic to look at. There is no impact felt from either skill and that is the biggest issue for me. They're nothing skills and honestly most times you're just better off not pressing them. Dagger 3 should have an initial high damage first pulse, and then it should be you know...like a dagger storm, and pulse small damage at least like 10x or something. Death by a thousand cuts. Lean into that vibe please anet. Give it the guardian treatment as well, if all pulses land, target is inflicted with bleeding. Same with dagger 2. If all daggers land, bleeding. Dagger 2 should just be a trap AOE. You throw out daggers in an area that linger for X seconds, whoever walks into the area, the daggers home in on. If multiple enemies, daggers fly to each one. It shouldn't be 3 daggers either, it should be 5 which is the max AOE target cap. Ofc balance the damage appropriately though.
  4. It's definitely A-tier atm IMO because of how anti-meta it is yeah, but I'd only consider it a niche pick in stuff like tournament play and such. It can be easily focused and shut down w/o proper support and positioning. I was condi dagger for awhile but then ran into Shorts in a match and he was using sword and what looked like domi/illu trait lines and that put me back on the power mirage path proper. I go dueling though for the clone generation+pistol traits. It's full glass, but also very fun. I still think WB/DH offers far greater value for the same role however which is roaming/duelist/CC shutdown, also WB/DH just much easier to play as well. It's why balance can be frustrating at times, some classes just get better skills and are way more forgiving when you mess up, yet still provide same or more value as the harder to play specs. I am keen to try the new dune cloak as well. It definitely caught my eye with some potential combo's. Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Power Mirage Resurrection!!! 😈
  5. Yes, that is what I want. 1 general condi cleanse, and then 3 specific cleanses for immob/chill/crip. I feel that is fair and balanced.
  6. I wish jaunt would remove immob/chilled/crip as well. 😭 Mirage desperately needs more access to cleansing those types of condi's, especially immob.
  7. This is the only thread where I have felt the need to used the confused emoji because some of these responses are absolutely baffling. Not only have I shown how the average grandmaster minor is either a 10-15% damage buff, or a 25% MS speed utility, but I and others have explained how Speed of Sand doesn't actually do anything in it's current iteration. Let that sink in. We have a grandmaster minor that just restores baseline functionality. That's it. No buff. It just puts us on the same line as everyone else. Furthermore, Mirage Cloak no longer works through CC, which was the biggest advantage it ever had, and this change was solely made for PvP/WvW to allow Mirage to have two dodges again in those game modes. Before that, Mirage was only one dodge for ~3yrs. This change was a straight nerf to functionality in PvE because Mirages got nothing to compensate and instead we were literally told by CMC that "It's not a big deal in PvE since there isn't that much CC so it's okay." This bit was said candidly during the live stream where they announced Mirage getting second dodge back. Definitely some bad faith actors in here but it doesn't matter. Speed of Sand is the worst trait in the entire game. There is no debate. If Mirage was an elite for Ele, Speed of Sand would have already gotten reworked by now. That is the truth. And yes you can compare traits directly across classes that occupy the same slots. That is HOW you should compare so you can see outliers of archaic design such as Speed of Sand. This game is more streamlined than it has ever been, with every class now being able to perform every single role and come the new weapons in ~3weeks, they will be able to provide every single boon as well. To all the people spamming strawman buzz word, google what projection is, because you are the people trying to strawman. Lastly, and most importantly, Vindicator dodge already increases your movement speed, yet they don't need a grandmaster minor trait for it.... hmmmmm...... HMMMMMMMM................🤔 Don't believe me? You can easily test this by strafing left or right, and then dodging on Vindi. Literally, same functionality as Speed of Sand, for the same exact purpose, so Vindicators can dodge out of AOE's. The evidence, and precedent is already here. Hopefully a dev sees this thread and makes some appropriate changes, but I have done my part. Ciao~ 👋
  8. I knew I forgot a class!!! My b hahahaha! Warrior in a kinda weird spot for me atm because I actually haven't seen them quite as much if at all during my time so far in pvp. So I don't really know if they're strong or not. The only thing I can think of has been condi zerk or bunker spellbreaker. Have not seen any bladesworns though.
  9. I am currently ranked #40/250 in NA with 140 games so far and can safely say I have seen DH or WB in pretty much every single match up, on both teams. Top classes are Guardian, Ele, & Ranger right now imo. All have varying levels of representation with their elites having secured spots in the current meta. In fact I would even go so far to say that the current meta right now is revolving around what the above 3 classes strengths and weaknesses are. Guardian specifically has all 4 specs as viable for PvP. Necro is very close to the mountain top of ele/guard/ranger, with Engi not far behind. Rev is somewhere in the middle of all this. Weakest class is Mesmer, but that still has strong presence with certain specs making it a respectable A tier, just no S tier specs atm outside of WvW but that one is getting gutted in 4 weeks (go figure lol) I would put thief on same level as Mes too as being weakest because both Thief/Mes are legit getting pushed out of their respective roaming specs because of WB and now DH. I can blink+jaunt, turn my camera around, and the WB is already on top of me again. Their CD's are straight shorter than our CD's and they do the same thing. So mechanically speaking, it is literally unfair in certain scenarios because no level of skill can surpass the game of "My class simply has better numbers than yours". Overall balance is actually pretty good tbh, but with the caveat that favored classes are clearly getting treated better and the devs have a very loud and clear bias because it's so obvious what classes they play and has been for quite some time. All I ask is Mesmer & Thief dev when????
  10. I faced a duo dev queue in ranked the other week and one was on druid. I told them to buff Mes, but they told me I need condi cleanse. 🥲
  11. The amount of straight guardian buffs and ele skill reworks these past few years has been staggering in comparison to every other class and yet again guardian and ele getting more buffs and reworks. Oh wait the top 2 devs play ele and guardian lol now it all makes sense. 🤧
  12. initial quick thoughts: - Power Mirage is extremely fun to play, love all the changes that are buffing it for PvE. - Really glad to see sword ambush finally doing big boy damage in PvE however it still has a rather bad habit of missing quite often, especially on uneven terrain. Would like to see a fix going towards that plz - Dune cloak looks interesting, especially with sword. Sword already summons a clone, so with mirage trait + jaunt you can sword ambush, then jaunt, then shatter, causing another ambush, can jaunt again, etc. It remains to be seen whether or not this will be effective however! Will have more later, sorry support Mesmers! I don't really partake in that style so can't comment on those changes.
