  1. Entirely possible. Either way it gives me something to work on and I'm here for it.
  2. Keep the really high HP. Make use of the power creep.
  3. I'm assuming you only read my comment up until I used the word 'gloat' and you immediately click on the quote button and started typing away. If you read the rest, you would have seen that I said I understand that you guys don't think the cost is worth the skin. As a pure skin, sure it's probably not worth the heavy cost, just like Envoy armor as a pure skin for me is NOT worth doing raids and having to coordinate with people. Regardless, if you want all 3 skins, it's going to cost you nearly 11,000 ectos, nearly 100,000 essences, a couple hundred clovers, 18 map completions or lantern runs, and a couple hundred hours of playtime. To me the cost is worth not having to deal with raids and the extensive coordination with other players.
  4. Then don't play the content. Obviously the armor is not a good enough reason for you to play. It's okay if the content is not to your liking. Give your feedback to the devs so they can try to do better, but don't be coming here asking for alternate/cheaper/easier paths to the content's selling point that just came out days ago. If you want the skin, play the content. If that cost is not worth it, don't do it. I like the Envoy armor skin, but I hate raids. To me, that skin/functionality is not worth the time/effort required by raids, so I simply don't do it and I don't get it. It's that simple. Just as obby armor is not worth the cost for you, Envoy is not worth the cost for me.
  5. This reminds me of people complaining about how unrealistic skimpy armor is. So this heavy armor is bulky looking, meaning there is padding and plating to protect the wearer, so it's a little more realistic. Of course the head is going to look small compared to the rest. To me the proportions around the head don't look too far off from Russell Crowe's Maximus armor at the opening scene of Gladiator: huge bulky shoulders and broad chest piece. Could it have been done better? Probably. Is it so horrendous that it warrants calling it garbage? No.
  6. Same could be said for everyone failing to do the CM. Just get good.
  7. All the more reason someone on our side should have been killed off too, to show that Eparch really is a threat and no pushover. Instead it's a classic case of "Let the good guys continue with their farce rebellion because plot armor." Eparch had a ripe opportunity to kill off everyone in that amphitheater and he just... goes poof. But then again, if they did make it look like someone was about to get killed off, they would have deus ex machina'd the hell out of it and suddenly out of nowhere Dragon's Watch would have shown up or something.
  8. Nice that you agree. It lets me know my speculations are at least somewhat reasonable and feasible.
  9. Cool. The armor looks fine on my human male character.
  10. Actually, I liked that he's a whiny little kitten. Now I won't have to wonder about his character complexity as I chop his kittening head off in the inevitable confrontation. Unless, of course, they give him the ol' Scarlet treatment and make it so you can't actually kill him and you have to 'press F to finish'. kittening kitten. I also like that Peitha played both Eparch and the queen like a fiddle. Up until now, Eparch has been portrayed as an insatiable eater of the Kryptis, and suddenly he decides to try to bargain? I expected Eparch to swoop in and be like "kitten you, all these Kryptis are now toppings on my pizza, and I'm taking my queen with me to eat it while we binge watch that new show we like". I expected Peitha to get suddenly and brutally killed, forcing any surviving Kryptis to rally behind the Tyrians (me). I'm not satisfied being just the savior of Tyria. Now I want Nayos to acknowledge me as its protector and savior.
  11. Yeah that seems very reasonable. I doubt the variant is a completely different look from the current Obby armor, just some added effects, and hopefully another dye channel. Either way, I intend to play casually over the next few months to farm the mats I think will be required.
  12. Why would you need any other expansion's masteries for SotO content? You don't need HoT masteries for PoF stuff, or vice versa. Each is its own thing. Those of us in the 536 club just happen to have done it all.
  13. Strikes, achievement points, skin unlocks, skyscale, legendary relic. That's not nothing. If you already did ALL of that, then great. Maybe next time don't play through all the content on day one.
  14. Sure, if you don't plan on making Obby armor. The expansion's selling point is the content that just so happens to have some kind of story and introduces some new characters and maps.
  15. There IS a mastery level requirement for the Obby armor. You have to maximize the Astral Ward mastery with a total of 20 SotO mastery points. The raid armor also required a certain amount of HoT mastery points to be spent.
  16. You know what WOULD bring people to Gyala Delve? A way to earn that infusion with extensive playing of the content. I'd play it.
  17. To make sure I understand: you are complaining that you got your money's worth? It was $25 for a reason. It is an expansion, just not a massive one. $25 is a good price for what we got and are getting. Sure, there are issues, but nothing that is completely unforgivable due to the low price. They're trying out a new way of delivering content to see how it plays out, how players respond, and what they can do to improve. They figure people are more ready to spend $25 than $75. All we can do is give them valid criticisms and constructive feedback where appropriate. Point out what doesn't work, point out what does, and hopefully the next expansion will be better because of it. This content is definitely NOT worth a base price of $75 or even $60, but don't forget that they totally could have done that but didn't. The pricing is on point.
  18. Because that feedback devalues the time and effort we spent earning the Obby armor. It's no different than those of us who wanted an alternate or reduced path to legendary armor that didn't require raids because it's not content we wanted to do. We got kitten on by the community for it. I was there, Gandalf, 3000 years ago. Now, it's our turn to 'gloat'. The 'us vs them' has always been and always will be there, it just takes on different forms. In this particular case it is "Those of us who earned Obby armor" and those of us who "Want the same for less time/effort/cost". This is especially worsened by the fact that it just came out 2 days ago, and people already want it for a reduced effort. It was said back in 2015 and it bears repeating again: "If you want that armor skin, play the content." IF I want the Perfected Envoy armor skin, I'll go (begrudgingly) do raids and earn it like everyone else who did. I'll go actually play the game as intended. I'll probably complain the whole time, but I'll do it if I want the skin. Hell, I was complaining about doing rifts over and over and over and over and over for months on end, but I sucked it up and did it because I wanted that armor. This push back is as confusing to you as people's reluctance to play the new content (regardless of what you think of the content) to earn the expansion's selling point is confusing to me. All you have to do is play the game over a period of time... you know, like you always have. If you're going to play anyway, and you want it, then just knock it out. It will keep you playing for months, as ArenaNet wants. I understand that you guys feel it's not worth the cost for a mere skin, but your feelings about it do not matter. If you don't think the cost is worth it, don't get it. It's that simple. It's no different than when you choose whether or not to buy a skin on the gem store. If the cost to you is not worth it, you don't get it, right? No one is forcing you to buy a skin on the store, and no one is forcing you to get Obby armor. However, if you want it, then you know what you need to do to get it: go play the content as intended.
  19. You'll be fine. At the very least, it won't be as extensive of a farm as it was for the armor itself.
  20. Touche. Regardless, you're not getting the Obby skin for less time/effort/cost than the rest of us anytime soon, if ever.
  21. For every 1 of you, there's more of us.
  22. Right, I can see how extremely vague the title was. I fixed it.
  23. It's fine if you don't think it is worth doing the content or playing the game as intended to get just a skin. Simply don't do it. However, and ArenaNet will agree with me on this, if you want the skin, you have to play the content as intended. They will not introduce a method to get a brand new legendary set that literally just came out by allowing you to circumvent any of the gameplay. They want you PLAYING, and obby armor will keep you busy for months. It was only after 11 years that they FINALLY added a shortcut for some of the gen 1 legendaries with the kits, but that is because their novelty has worn off after 11 years and by now most players think nothing much of them. Notice too that the gift of mastery, the one that requires actual gameplay like map completion and WvW, is not included in the kit. Maybe in another 11 years, they will give you a shortcut to Obby armor, but don't count on it. Get to farming.
  24. I think of it as you actively playing the parts of the story where you set up the next steps like securing materials or locations, checking in with your allies, doing reconnaissance on the obviously intended 'climactic' location. How is doing the 'behind the scenes' not part of the story? Strategizing, discussing intel, and receiving up-to-date reports on important objectives are all part of the story. It's a war. Can the dialog be written better? Obviously. They still seem to rely a little much on ellipses for 'dramatic pauses', but that's just a mild annoyance because it drags the dialog on. To say that including 'do a couple of events to progress our front line' is not part of the story is just wrong.
  25. Ok, let's pretend for a second that they purposely kittened up the proportions so bad that compared to the concept art, it looks like the kittening 'dis is de wei' meme, all in an effort just to annoy you specifically. What do you propose they do about it? I fail to see the horrendous proportions you're crying about. The armor looks fine. Not great, not terrible. It's not meant to be liked by everyone. No matter how this armor turned out, there will always be someone doing what you're doing right now: being a kittening Karen over the most minuscule details of appearance.
