I agree with the spirit of your idea, though I'm not sure how it could be properly implemented. One of the biggest issues I've had with this game is its lack of mid-range difficulty: it's all either spam 1 to win or get OHKOed by a red ring.

Fun fact: Ultima Online (one of the first MMOs; now celebrating its 20th anniversary) had a particle effects slider because even in a 2d isometric game, the devs realized you need to see what your enemy is doing in order to properly react to it - and it didn't require twitch play like GW2...

The engage skills need to be significantly turned down in pre-80 areas. I'm also in the camp where I stow my mount to give new players a chance for exp/loot.

I was worried about this fight given the description from these posts, but easily defeated it on my Mesmer: no fancy tricks, just full Berserker Domination/Dueling/Illusions (2/2/1; 1/X/1; 1/2/1) with iBerserkers, Mantra of Distraction, and Signet of Domination. I was surprised by how little HP the thing had compared to other PoF story bosses.

Waste of development time. This is a learn to play issue. The fight is simple. Attack him until you see the circle telegraph under you, and run away from him ASAP so he can't use his health drain. Rinse and repeat. Killed him in less than 2 minutes on my Tempest. There's nothing wrong with a bit of inclusiveness (which is what this game/company once stood for). And just because someone can't complete X content doesn't mean the issue is strictly L2P. My biggest gripe with this instance is that you can't really help others through it.

Does it really matter, though? There's not a lot of incentive to repeat personal instanced content in this game.

brb...going to go start a new Guardian, get him to 80, unlock Firebrand, kit him out with the necessary gear for 30+ burn stacks, and slog through the prerequisite story steps.
