  1. Much like how a Power based burst build is designed to dish out the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of hits, ensuring the maximum amount of damage, a Condition based burst build is designed to apply the maximum amount of stacks of one or more conditions (short or long duration) in the shortest amount of time. Allowing them to deal a large amount of damage in a very short time frame. This lets them essentially passively burst a target down after the initial application. These builds also usually take advantage of how the condition cleansing system works, and tend to apply some sort of "cover" conditions to prevent the actual damage conditions from being cleansed. While it's not as immediate as a Power burst build, if you can't cleanse the large stack of damaging conditions (They usually focus on one or two, such as Burning, or Bleeding/Poison) you, depending on your health pool, basically get to sit there and watch yourself die within roughly 3-5 seconds? Give or take.
  2. Just, something else to throw out there since others have pointed it out. You'd basically be creating just yet another problem temporarily for the game, as there are multiple skills spread across several professions that can apply Revealed to targets regardless of stealth or not. Engineer, Warrior, Necromancer, Ranger, Revenant, Guardian; all those professions have means of putting Revealed on one or more targets regardless of if they have stealth or not. Most of those mentioned have large health pools, or various other forms of damage mitigation. You'd also have to also make it so revealed reduced damage/prevented crits for EVERY profession, not just the ones with access to stealth, and you'd likely also have to include Condition damage in that damage reduction formula. Just to keeps things balanced. So you'd essentially be boosting the survivability of those professions by granting them yet more damage mitigation, forcing an unintended bunker meta.
  3. Whaaaat? Another thread calling for out-of-stealth damage reduction? Crazy. Almost forgetting the fact that Thief has traits designed around gaining more benefits WHEN revealed, like say, increased power? Besides, it's much easier to call for nerfs than learning the predictable burst rotations of profession builds relying on stealth as an opener for most of their damage. o/ Hate to put that dodge button to good use.
  4. I stick to PvP. sPvP specifically, since WvW is more or less a convoluted zerg fest now-a-days, and I just enjoy the shock value of watching someone go 100-0 from a single dagger boop. All the while not learning from their mistakes.
  5. Joining in with the army of other folk trapped within the PvP Queue. o/
  6. Dagger Boops have been around in various shapes and forms since the launch of the game, and they will very likely continue to stay around for a very long time. While they're not all that fair to fight against, they're also highly predictable once you know what to expect, and heavily unviable if you're fighting in a group setting. Familiarize yourself with the builds, and the skills they use, to more easily identify when/where they might be stacking stealth, or when they might attempt to initiate. Make yourself look taste-y, to bait them in, make them waste burst, and overall punish them. If they don't leave stealth, they're essentially being useless if they're in a match, and if they can't kill you, they're not helping themselves or their team much either. Never be afraid to ask them what they're running either, if they're willing to tell you, that's how you learn. Knowledge is power! The biggest strength of these builds are burst damage, surprise, demoralization and stupidity. Get the right combination of those, and you end up with salty rage-quits, or folk standing idle screaming in map chat, while you pluck away their HP bar like a ripe fruit. And if you end up with a target that doesn't want to learn, and does the same thing over, and over, and over again expecting something to change? They get torn to shreds, and then it's a matter of balance.
  7. Calling bs on this, also in unrelated news I hit 90k with mesmer autos once I just don't have a screenshot It was on a zerk ele but I am not lying. I will screencap it next time. I got you buddy! https://imgur.com/a/6CDBfhWThis was done in an unranked match of sPvP. I don't remember what kind of Mesmer it was, I think they were power. They died too fast.
  8. Vintage Thief, baby! :-D If my computer could handle recording and playing at the same time, I'd probably do a montage video. Of me getting blown up trying to one shot. Into a Dragon's Maw nest. Into a Condi-Ranger Trap nest. Into a heap of Marks. Into a Bulls Rush -> 100 Blades combo (It's happened!) Right into a Holo burst, etc. etc. For all the success I might have now in terms of ambushing, and one shotting people, I have probably died 1000 times more, just getting to that point. Like riding a bicycle, if there was a 95% chance the bicycle would blow up every time you sat down on it.
  9. Vault is perhaps the only one-hit skill that can do this into traps because of the evade. My Backstab build got wiped out instantly after teleporting into a trap. Actually you give up the evade portion of the skill in trade for the teleport, since the window of teleportation is just after the evade ends. I get blown up a lot blindly teleporting in with all bloodlust and no plan.
  10. Interesting I've been using that same zerker build for years as well but used s/p + staff* with inteligence and force sigils. Normally it works well in the beginning but it becomes hard to pull off when the team caught on to the setup. Hello fellow Glass Staff! And yeah, it becomes harder as the match progresses and the enemy catches on, but that's part of the fun. When they know what's coming, but don't know when, then you get to mess with them~
  11. I'd just like to point out again, that I've been essentially been using this build, and variants, since the drop of HoT. So vaguely two years now? It's taken folks two years to finally complain fully about it, when the damage has always been that high. The only buff it's really gotten over these past two years, is the change made to Assassin's Signet and Signet of Shadows, both the Active Effect changes, and the cooldown reduction. That's it. The damage was actually slightly nerfed back when they changed out all the sPvP sigils. Here are both build variants I primarily use, with their glaring flaws, but that's half the fun.Valks Variant :http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQNAoaWn8lCdOhNOB+NBkmiFaCbLPNcCBaBgnwsZuCuBHhA-jJhIQBC8UAYkyA6Y/BA8EAAA Zerker Variant :http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQNAoaWn8lCdOhNOB+NBkmiFaCTLA8EmNb5phzeauCuBHhA-jJhIQBC8UAAgnAwRKDoj9HAA Not a huge difference between the two outside of one trait and the amulet.
  12. I haven't had the chance to play Daredevil much yet. Can you pre-cast vault before you use Shadow Pursuit? Also, just curious... do you incorporate Assassin's Signet as well? Which adds more DPS when active? Assassin's Signet or Signet of Shadows? Thanks :-) You can actually pre-cast Vault with any teleportation skill. The window of opportunity is very small however, sitting at roughly the 65% Cast Bar mark, and the higher your latency is, the lower the chance of its' success. Anything above 100 ping, and you'll end up vaulting in place more than vault-stepping to your target. I use both Assassin's Signet and Signet of Shadows, typically popping Assassins Signet initially before I engage, and then Signet of Shadows right before my burst hits.
  13. Yet also, quite entertaining. I find it more hilarious as I've basically been using the same build ever since HoT dropped, and it's only taken till recently for people to have an issue with it. 1st time im running accross this double vault 17k hit immediately followed by a 19k hit vault them while still in stealth a 4.9k hit build.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GkBEkkPVWfRIHNURKyjbkGVidSMOJwz-/view?usp=drivesdkIn pure honesty, I don't know where the first Vault came from. The only one I hit you with in my log, was the 19k, followed up by the staff auto chain.I also didn't start doing Ranked till very recently. I mostly haunted Hotjoins till that died, then I've been haunting Unranked and Duel servers fora while.

  15. Maybe Rune of the Daredevil would make it synch more with Valkyrie since all you really want is to land Vault. Maybe even Sigil of Intelligence?Dodge -> Vault -> get all the Power and Ferocity from Amulet to hit. It's personal preference really, as I don't really like Rune of the Daredevil, and considering most of my damage will be full HP burst, Scholars has better damage output. In terms of a lack of crit chance, the Hidden Killer trait suppliments the lack-there-of quite well.
