  1. I love #5 when doing dumgeons as a low level giardian :P.
  2. Before I stopped playing in 2020, I was DH with greatsword and traps and had no issues. I was not running dps meters, so I can't really tell what my dps was, though. But it was a very enjoyable Open World experience.
  3. Playing engineer from scratch for the first time and leveling up following the story. Playing core since I will level up naturally and not boost. I got to a nice early setup with explosive entrance and that got me wondering. What was the nerf from the Scrapper Grenades? What it used to do vs what does it do now? I am asking this because I think it might be related to what I am trying as I prepare to solo Asc Catacombs as a low level. How does explosive entrance interact with AoE attacks? Only one mob triggers it, as I believe to be the case? I am having fun sending in a toolbelt Rocket from the Rocket Turret turret, jumping on a group of mobs with Jump Shot and dodging when the missile is about to hit for a double tap on Explosive Entrance. I want to make sure I am optimizing it.
  4. Same here. Started after last patch. Without DPI scaling interface gets too small in my resolution.
  5. I was torn between running Alac support power Mech vs pure power dps mech. Even with the significant drop in dps, the alac support build could be played as a single build for all pve content, including solo play. If this change goes in, I have no desire to play pure power now.
  6. I usually get away from unfavorable fights. But what happens often, is that I hold the cap against 2 or 3 for a commensurate amount of time and when I need to give up the node and look at the map, the opposing team still has the other 2 nodes? So I have to rotate to another one and stay alive but all I did was trade one for another.
  7. I don't mind my rank. I just want the achievements for the legendary gear. I can get back to gold with my condi mechanist. I played successfully with this same Roamer Mirage Staff/sword build for all previous achievements (around an expected 1:1 win loss ratio). But now, I find that I am always fighting 3v1 or 2v1 and the team still wipes in middle. Even when I successfully roam, the other team still wins. Maybe meta has shifted to pure dps so it does not matter how many nodes you cap since you are basically fighting alone all the time? Dunno. It was not that hard before.
  8. Mesmer was my first main and still one of my favorite PvE professions. So, naturally, I chose it as one of the classes to get the legendary back pack from PvP (win 3, 5, 7, 10 matches with 3 different professions). Well, the first 3 tier were relatively easy to obtain. But now, I don't know what changed, I am on a losing streak of about 20:1. I need only 2 more victories to make the 10 wins but kitten it, it is hard. I mean, even if I AFK'ed I should still get one victory every now and then, as I have seen happen other times. I went from gold 3 all the way so silver 2 and I keep dropping. I actually am finding it a lot harder to win in lower tiers than in gold 3 (maybe there is more people to carry a match in higher tiers?). It is frustrating. But I will have to stick to it. I am now curious to see how bad it can get. At least the other two classes should be a breeze.
  9. I got a bad one when I started ranked pvp. He spent the whole match complaining about me asking if we should cometely ignore the catapults in Kylo (as I imagined it would be the case). He spent more time bitching about me than answering the question. Then he said he reported me and I should not be playing ranked. My reply to him was simple: Anet requires PvP rank 20 for ranked pvp. I am rank 20. Therefore, kitten. P.S. I just figured out what kitten means. I kept asking myself what type of slang was that. It is just weak kitten, kittened up, kitten, Anet language control.
  10. For me is PvP. I am sure there are better methods in terms of return over time invested. But, PvP was the first game feature that gave me gold WHILE doing something I enjoyed and not doing something because I wanted to make gold. I did mostly PvE up to a couple of months ago. Was always struggling with gold and gearing up. Spending gems to get gold and ascended. I was broke for 2+ years. 2 months of pvp and I got all the gear I need and still get a constant stream of gold (more than I spend). By the time next season ends, I will have full legendary armor and gold to start towards more legendary weapons.
  11. Ouch! I guess I have to focus on cone style attacks, like engie's flametrower, renegade's scorchrazor or AoE attacks to damage them in between invul saves. At least these attacks should bypass projectile reflect.
  12. Playing recently in Legacy of the Foefire, I was with another player on an enemy base and a Elementalist (not sure which specialization) basically became immune for I don't know how long. He just kept there, jumping, immune to damage for a looooong time. Enough time for another player to respawn and join him in the fight. We ended up still winning that one. However, facing elementals as a ranged class, I had my @$$ handed to me on several occasions. A few questions: 1 - These long times being immune is base to all elementalists, or is it a specific specialization? 2 - The projectile reflect from elementalists is base on the focus which all have access to right? Other than the reflect, are there other projectile denial. 3- How many cooldowns are there to negate or reflect ranged damage from elementalist?: i.e. how long do I have to wait until I can damage them and how much time do I have until their cooldowns are ready again? 4 - Finally, while they are countering, is their damage output diminished?
  13. I guess they wanted to give people enough time to doge/run away from the leap, but do not want you to enjoy that long of an evade window? Why? Just make the animation shorter or give the full time evade window.
  14. I though that while on air, vindicators would still evade attacks. A Mesmer's skills that creates a wall that pulls characters in pulled me out from the skies in the middle of the dodge. Is this expected (and does the mesmer skill will also pull other people out of mid dodge)? I feel like I am still being hit like crazy while dodging, or is it my impressions (maybe from conditions)?
