  1. @draxynnic.3719 I love Rev. It does not have the variance other classes have. I did not say every power is the same as every other power. I said every Shiro is the same as all the others. I was referring to skills. A lot of my fun with Engi was mixing things up pretty much whenever I want. Any heal with any 3 utilities with any 1 elite. That's a lot of different things you can be doing. Engi just has more possible synergies than Rev. Rev you pick your spirit and that sets those 5 skills. With how traits are set up in general this also limits your trait choices more. You're just not going to run some trait lines with some spirits because there's no possible synergy to be drawn between some. So I'd suggest to someone who wants to stick to one class they go with a class with higher variance.
  2. Soooo been about 2-ish years, maybe close to 3. Came back like last week and just not enjoying my old Rev. Looking at Thief. The Specter seems really cool! Though I'm wondering what does the core Thief bring to group content in general? Seems like decent to awesome breakbar damage but I'm not seeing much else beyond "lol damage" tbh. My fun is enabling a whole party to have more fun. So giving out barrier, Alacrity, buffs, things... Thief probably isn't for me but Specter makes it super tempting. So thought I'd ask y'all how accepted Specter is in Raids and Fractals specifically.
  3. Pick a profession with high variance. You'll be able to shift your way of playing more often without changing to a different profession. Engi and Ele probably have the most of all the professions. My first account I did everything on an Engi, in large part because it has many different ways to play it. You could argue Warrior also has high variance with the amount of weapon options outside of combat. I would avoid Revenant, imo sadly, because every Shiro is just the same as all other Shiros, etc. It probably has the lowest variance in builds. This makes it easier to pick up and run with it but you can only reach so high with it too... (I'll note here Rev is my favorite profession xD)
  4. You want to be sad use hammer or staff.... Swords put out decent damage and have a tad bit of utility. Hammer and staff have more utility I suppose but the damage is just trash. Staff only gets used because break bars. Hammer gets used because a ranged weapon can be useful in certain situations. Now we have short bow though which is just better then hammer, even if you are using power. The condi weapon is a better power weapon than the power weapon. Now that is sad.
  5. 2002 would be correct technically but if we are using that then we could go further back in time to anything that is remotely similar to both classes. These are far from the first archetypes using the idea. If we are going to legitimately compare the two then it is only really worth comparing the WoW class available to players to Revenant.
  6. "adds a layer to an otherwise luke-warm clone of the WoW demon-hunter from aesthetic down to move-set. " Heart of Thorns and Revenant came out before Demon Hunter, therefore Demon Hunter is the luke-warm clone :p
