Ha. There were lots and lots of threads on OW legendary armor. There were not (to my recollection) threads on "I don't care what OW legendary armor will look like". That was my only sticking point in your response above.

So now you recall seeing what I'm talking about, but an hour ago you did not? Did you end up looking it up afterall?

I mean you kind of make my point for me, the current is to convoluted to even run as an entry level raid leader.

By correcting your statement about team compositions not being as simple as the DPS-Support proving you don't know enough about the content to make suggestions about it?

I was involved in more than a few over the last couple of years as well.

I won't check because there are literally dozens or more threads that went on for hundreds of pages (adding them together). I'm on here for general discussion and my own entertainment. Not for doing hours of search work. And I don't actually think you are being disingenuous. I thought part of this statement (just the first half):

I don't recall looks ever coming up in those threads. There were plenty of threads discussing time length/activities required as well as costs. I just can't remember any of the weekly/monthly threads with any significant amount of posters saying they didn't care about appearance.

Which is it then? You don't recall ever seeing them or being in multiple ones?

100%. That's entirely what I was referring to.

Oh I don't plan on doing a search. I think the "it doesn't have to look good, we want OW Legendary" idea was made up to make a disingenuous point for this thread.

Time length and activities and costs were discussed over and over again. Appearance really never came up. Again, going from memory.

I've been going on and disagreeing with the idea of OW Legendary for years commenting on those threads every time they popped up. That's kinda why I can tell how long they went on and what points were brought up.

If you don't want to check don't suggest the other is being disingenuous. I could make up stuff about you and then go "yeah, I won't check if it's the case".

You do know that Open World Legendary armor has been discussed before Soto, right?
I do recall all the people agreeing with me whenever I said that OW Legendary should only be a thing if it's expensive or takes long to get, hell people even agreed on the suggestion that it should be some basic armor, but with Legendary quality.
I also recall these going for a good 20-30 pages, maybe try looking before Anet announced OW Legendary armor, good luck with your search, I'm sure you'll find enough of them in 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, I think it was even a topic discussed in 2018 and before.

except they havent Dropped GW1, in fact they've just celebrateed 6 years of uninterupted server uptime.

If they didn't drop GW1 where's Utopia? Oh yeah, got canned and replaced with EoTN and then released Beyond, quests connecting GW1 to 2, there was an almost 5 year gap between EoTN's release and GW2's release. The servers are up, yes, but I wasn't talking about the servers, I was talking about development.
    EDIT:
Forgot to mention Beyond after EoTN.

Oh look, another Guild Wars 3 post from someone who thinks graphics in games is everything. I'll never understand people who think the value of a game is in how it looks and nothing else.

As someone mentioned above, if they announced a GW3, I'd quit Guild Wars 2 and never touch the game or GW3 ever again.

If you think this game is dated, maybe this game (and franchise?) is not for you anymore. At least when I don't like a game or franchise anymore, that's what I do.

If GW3 gets announced Anet would probably drop GW2 the way they did with GW1. Can the upcoming expansion, throw out some content, see ya in 5 years in the next game!

Most content now days requires a group of five, 3 dps (one tank for raids) then 2 supports. Pretty simple format for an lfg auto queing system.

Tower, Cannons, Shrooms, Saboteur, Mortars, Reflect, Tower, HK, TD Push, Throw/CC on Eye, Pacman people on Eater, Green DPS and kite on Dhuum, Shields, kite on TL, Lamp, Q1 kite, Wyvern tank on Q1, Pylons on Q2. That's only Raids.

There's a lot more than 3DPS and 2 supports, also most pug groups have one of the healers tank, not one of the DPS. The last time I saw someone other than a healer tank was me tanking as qDPS on Deimos last month.

If you want to suggest a better LFG then having knowledge in the content helps so that you won't be writing bogus.

    EDIT:
Forgot about the roles on Statues, oops, that's even more.

  9. Core Engineer has access to 7 out of 9 combo fields, you can use 6 of those without any real issue and over 30 finisher options.

Now I am not going to spend my valuable time looking at all the classes to see what they are lacking, that is ArenaNet's job. But I wanted to make a strongly stated suggestion that needs to be fixed. People should NOT have to spend their time looking around for builds that meet the Criteria, every weapon should have at least ONE combo field.

You're right, you should spend your valuable time in game learning your kittening profession. Engi's combo fields are not lacking, your ability to read however seems to be.

That's the thing though with a fixed UI. Everything in it has to be in it all of the time and at the same location. So unless you accept a performance loss this can't be changed. That's why I mentioned the number of players per map because that's where the performance needs to be. In SWTOR, for example, their engine could barely handle 16 players (raids are 8 or 16 player) in the same map so there it's much worse. But that's where I learned that everything that's attached to your character info costs performance essentially.

I assume that that's something that goes for games in general. Their engine in SWTOR was just crap from the basis on up but that's a different matter. So the way I understand it that everything that is customisable has an effect on the performance because it has to be loaded per character. And when you have fixed framework you don't need to do that. Dunno if I understand it correctly but it does sound right to me.

And that's why GW1 and GW2 are so different because performance is not such a big issue when a game is much simpler.

What kind of performance loss are you going on about? We are not playing games on Pentium 4s anymore mate.

GW1 was an entirely different game though. Much simpler and no persistent maps outside of cities. Also the UI was much simpler. So comparing the two isn't really a useful comparison. The thing is that you had 12 players max in one map in GW1. In GW2 you can have over 100 (like WvW maps). So performance is a much bigger issue in GW2 (which is the reason iirc why Anet has gone with a fixed UI)

Yes, the UI is much simpler if I purposefully remove or hide elements I don't need. I could easily make GW2's UI simple compared to GW1 if I show all the elements.
GW2 has UI elements that are not needed majority of the times, since it bundles them together, such as the "Objectives" option being festivals, events, content guide and story or how the Skill bar is skills, health, boons, buffs, conditions AND XP BAR.
In the screenshots I posted you can see how I have my UI spread out and is clear most of the times, but I can make it cluttered by turning on things that are unnecesseary, or making things pointlessly big.
On top of that GW1 not being proper open world has nothing to do with the UI. If performance was such an issue in the first place we couldn't reach this much of junk on our screens in GW2 where the buff bar clips with the map and the entire right side of your screen is just events, festivals and map.

The first mistake is to assume that a hotjoin system solves any of the issues. It does not.

The issue lies not with creating a group of random players for the content. The issue lies with getting a random group of players able to "solve" the encounter. It always has. THIS is what needs solving. The grouping then follows suite.

The common suggestion to thus:"make your own group" is not as encouragement to solve the former issue. It is given to make people try their approach and realize IT DOESN'T WORK.

You not wanting to lead a raid group is akin to saying:"I don't want to understand why stuff doesn't work." Fine, then join a guild where someone else does it for you.

Players leaving your squad is literally them telling you:"We don't believe in your group composition or ability to lead us to success."

What makes you believe this won't happen with an automated system? On the contrary, with an automated system your group would get filled constantly, have experienced players leave continously, leaving only inexperienced players to fail repeatedly.

As to "why not chance the game to fit an automated system"? That's akin to saying: Let's dumb down the encounters so an automated system can make the groups.

Another issue people don't see is that for a hotjoin system to work Anet would have to force builds into certain roles and then you'd get the mixing and matching of roles depending on what was found already.

Many people asking for hotjoin style stuff ask for public IBS Strike-like hotjoin system.. even though we can already see how popular public IBS Strikes are.

It would protect a NEW PLAYER from being overwhelmed.

Veterans that slowly experienced new currencies/content being added have no idea how a new player experiences this game.

I love how all these "but new players" threads pretty much paint a picture that new players are 5 year old kids suffering from ADHD, are addicted to gambling, and are willing to spend atleast 10k€ a month on microtransactions, but would be scared away by the total cost of expansions.

I tried an "All Welcome" but people just leave when they realise you have no Healers or Supports. The demand on someone organising this content is to high especially for me. I can't spend more than a few hours a day playing so I guess no raiding for me.

As has been said multiple times whenever people brought up auto queue and stuff and just went with "well it'll throw people together" when you don't ask for any roles there is a chance you'll have 10 DPS, but you may also have 3 healers and no boonDPS.. You can still go on without asking for any experience while still asking for roles.

Asking for basic roles isn't difficult, you literally just mention the roles you need, quickness, alac, heal and that's pretty much it, someone joins in as qheal you'll lower the number of quickness and heal by 1, it isn't rocket science.

W1-4 can be comfortably cleared in 2 hours without being mad serious about it, I also only have a few hours a day on weekdays, 4-5 and somehow I still manage to do the content I want.

your problem is that you have no sympathy for people who want to learn something, and that's why they pursue training. i didn't elaborate more myself because i quoted a post that is at least fooling itself, but rather deliberately lying to blur the edges. the dps check was simple in a special forces training area on a robot, but i would expect you to know that

Changing the narrative to "being thrown out of a training group" when "being thrown out of a group" doesn't work is interesting.

The problem with the "people who want to learn" thing is that who wants to learn? I've joined pug trainings a lot when I saw some on LFG looking for heal, tank or whatever specific for a while now and people who want to learn are.. learning, trying to improve. A person constantly doing the same mistake ignoring advice or just not pay attention don't want to learn, they're just there, mostly in hopes of getting the loot.

Keep in mind, just because a squad is not asking for LI or KP it's not necessearily a training ground, hell, you might even see training groups asking for KP, because it's CM training.
I do my FCs without KP, but if someone is constantly messing up, not doing their role they'll get the boot.
I've had to kick a person from a W7 training for literally wiping the group 7 times on Adina and 4 times on Q2 generating no Quick while also competing with the HFB tank for DPS as qdps. I had 6 people there to learn, I didn't want to waste their time any longer because one person was there for... well, not for learning, that's for sure.

    Suggestion :

Add Enhancement to Weapons and Armor.

To be able to use the Artificing Station to add Enhancements to your gear.
Have a Astrial World Powder and Stones to enhance a ++ on gear.

If you Enhance Legendary and it fails it goes back to 3
If you Enhance Ascended and it fails it goes back to 0
If you Enhance Exotic or Lower and it fails it breaks

Enhancements would only be applied  in Open World
If you Enter WvW or PvP the Enhancements don't take Effect.

    Thoughts?

So, it's been not even 2 weeks since (January 30th):

How are things Balsa? Are you still running a weekly training and getting new people to complete the strike? Have you completed the strike since then again on CM yourself?

You were very adamant of criticizing players which clear CMs regularly about using KP. Have you been a force of change here?

Remember: if you aren't training new players, you are part of the problem. 👍

I'm sure we both know the answer.
Still, it's better than complaining about groups requiring X amount of experience and people without X amount of experience being bad in the same rant, like we had some months ago.

No. Not on most builds. On the relatively small number of good builds most of the population happens to not be running, because they aren't even aware they are there.

Yes, on most builds. If you go to do a Strike or a Raid you're bringing builds that are designed to work there, the same way you bring gear and build for PvP or WvW that works and not some random thrown together thing one made after unlocking the third spec slot.

You can't complain about a set DPS being too high for people, because said people can't be bothered to spend abou 30 seconds looking up a simple build. "It's high damage, because people run kitten builds" makes no sense.
