  1. Because, for me, I still do, and going through EoD increases that want. Even though it would be a pain to implement a new start for Tengus, I feel it would be worth it, there were people on Reddit who were hoping that the eventual release of Cantha would introduce Tengus as a new playable race but, alas, that did not happen. I am certain I am not the only one that would see Tengus as a breathe of fresh air since they'd give you a new story and race to start with, when you're an altoholic like me, doing the same stories over and over again gets really old and introducing a new one through making Tengus a playable race would be very nice. And to those who would say "It would be too much work/too expensive.", no it wouldn't. (plus, there's no MMO with a playable bird race, it would be pretty kitten unique of GW2 to go for it. I am aware that they have two other playable races that are somewhat unique [[Sylvari and Asura]] but only somewhat, since Sylvari is just Wood Elf taken literally and Asuras are basically Goblins if they were British and smart) Also, is the confused emote a meme? Because I see people using it as a reaction on literally every single post and it baffles me considering most of the posts are clear on what they're saying.
  2. I guess the most interesting part about Asuras is well.. their race name, It's a Japanese word meaning "Demon creature", so it is interesting that Asuras don't have, at least, somewhat Asian-inspired names.
  3. Yeah, I kinda figured. I know I could just play as a human and make it feel way less out of place, but... don't want to, don't like playing as a human in MMOs because well, I already am one in RL and that's already enough human for me. lol I guess half my reason as to why is to, somewhat, make a reincarnation of my GW1 main, which was an Assassin/Necromancer.
  4. I was thinking of making an Asura Thief (soon-to-be Specter) and give them not only a fully Cantha armour set outfit but also maybe a Canthan name? (I do realized Canthan names are Asian-based, Chinese, I think.) Would this be neat or feel really out of place?
  5. Technically, that account is 15 years old, give or take, since it was not a NCSoft account , I had to merge it with a new one I made 2-3 years ago so I am not sure if I can do it again with this one.
  6. So, since I was gone for a bit, I forgot my old account's info, but managed to get it back up recently. Honestly, I wish there was a way to merge this one with my old one, I saw one solution which is just ask the Customer Support team to change the email of my old one to my current one but I don't know if that would complicate things or basically just bork my new one. Any advice for what to do would be nice. :u (Or, at least be able to transfer my old characters to the new account)
  7. I guess. I know Elementalist, in general, is designed a bit more for healing than most other classes... but as I mentioned in my post showing interest in Elementalist, I am wary of it and for good reason, considering some of them said it's not a good idea to go for it.
  8. So, rather stumped on classes, I want to stick to one singular character but I am having a very hard time finding one that I feel fits me, closest ones are Necro and Mesmer, but I've played both for years and want to try something else. I have Revenant and Thief to level 80 and specced to Vindicator and Specter respectively and tried all of their other specs, I like Vindicator and Specter most, but still feel as though the two don't fit but am willing to continue playing the two until I get a feel for either one if need be. I guess, I like a particularly mage-y class that has high survivability and decent-great DPS. If GW2 had healers, I would say that I like playing healers that can do very well in solo, but GW2 doesn't, technically. I am very, very shy/anxious so I greatly prefer to solo and I don't do PvP/WvW.
  9. My first MMO was also Everquest, personally, I prefer Everquest II because of well.. it's less clunky and less overwelming. It's still clunky, but not as clunky. And yeah, Modern MMOs are fun, but will never perfectly simulate what it was like to play EQ1/EQ2, Ultima, Runescape and so on.
  10. Unfortunate that I never got to try Vanguard, a lot of EQ2 players loved it and, honestly, I would love to try it if it ever resurfaces.
  11. Sadly, there are no private servers for EQ2, by technicality. There is one but it's basically in pre-pre-pre-alpha stage, currently unplayable unless you like running around and doing nothing. I am aware of EQ1's private servers, but, to be honest, I am more interested in EQ2 since it's less overwhelming for me.
  12. Knowing I'm both an EQ1 and EQ2 veteran/refugee, I miss a lot of things I used to do in both of them that aren't as easily replicated in GW2, but, with the EQ series holding on by a very thin thread from a life or death situation, I am like... 80% moved to GW2 as my main MMO. EQ2 players are so pessimistic, bitter and rather unhelpful these days, They're so resigned and don't even want to bother with trying to get the devs motivated again in any way. I am still passionate about the series and seeing that series slowly die because of neglect and care from both the company and the community, it's very depressing. Knowing how popular and revolutionary Everquest was in the old days, I don't think it would be allowed to die completely, someone will probably pick the series up and try to revitalize said series.
  13. Same, funnily enough, I was happy they had, at least, Necromancer and, technically, Assassin in GW2. Didn't try Mesmer until 2014 and ended up loving it. Mesmer is basically the closest thing to Bard for me since, at that time, I wished more MMOs had bard as a class.
  14. I'm kinda in the same boat, however, I've tried pretty much every MMO I could find and most were in the categories of trash and meh. FF14 feels pretty above average, like not great but not bad either, just decent, but the people are really nice, at least. ESO feels... almost meh, it's barely decent, the mindnumbingly easy overworld kinda ruins it for me. (if you thought base GW2 overworld was easy, think of baby's first MMO and you got ESO) As mentioned, I tend to go back and forth between GW2 and EQ2, they're the only two that keep my interest in the MMO genre.
  15. Yeah! I didn't start on EQ1 until 2000 or 2001 because well.. I was like 3 when EQ1 came out. Played EQ1 with my family until 2004, then played EQ2 until GW1's release.. then kinda drifted about on MMOs for a long time, even now. GW2 and EQ2 are still my go-to MMOs since I consider them both the best out of the genre.
  16. Oh yeah, I'm from EQ2 and Mabinogi, I agree that Mabinogi is very, very unique for a MMO, and it's a shame no MMO company has tried to replicate that, the only one closest to it is Black Desert Online and I say that very loosely. lol If only Mabinogi wasn't owned by literally the EA of Korean MMO companies. I got interested in GW1 for a....very dumb reason, I was a 12 year old kid so, my reasoning was because the capes had cloth animation and EQ2 didn't. lol I had very weird priorities for MMOs back then. Either way, I still, very much, enjoyed GW1, but didn't get far from what I remember. Plan to revisit GW1 soon to finish up what I started.
  17. Like Everquest 1 or 2, Runescape, Ultima, Mabinogi, Maplestory or even GW1. I came to GW1 from Everquest 2, then when GW2 came out, I got it as an early birthday present when I was 16. Been on GW2 on and off since a month or two after release and I still enjoy it, definitely much more fun than most MMOs I've played. :u
  18. That's why I said it's "supposed to be". I heard how Elementalist was basically gutted when it came to ranged stuff so yeah.
  19. Man, I know your pain, somewhat, I don't PvP, but I struggle with sticking to a class, especially since the classes I am interested in are, apparently considered trash/mediocre so I just kinda struggle to have any sort of major attachment to any character I make since the classes I try aren't 100% something I am into or anything.
  20. Personally, I'd love to see more actual classes in this game, having only 3 mages, 3 scouts and 3 tanks feels a bit short, especially when some of them aren't great to play and ANet refuses to get them back to being good, plus, ANet seems to greatly favour Necros, Engineers and Guardians.
  21. I guess, to be put it simply, it feels lackluster, underwhelming, if you will. It's nothing how I remember it and is why I am wary of playing it. I am a player that greatly prefers soloing and I remember Elementalist being absolutely awful for soloing in HoT, at least.
  22. I mean, you could have just told me that the class still wasn't doing well and I would have taken that as advice to still not go for it instead of calling me insane for it. I still want to check up on this class every so often to see if it's improved or still in a bad spot hence why I asked. I am very much interested in it since it, supposed to be, THE mage class, and I don't want to play as a Necro since I've played that to death already in every MMO I've ever played and Mesmer, while I do like it, I am not sure if it fits me anymore. So yeah, it does sadden me that Elementalist is still not doing well, I remember it being really fun back in the old days of GW2, so yeah...
  23. I STILL do want to give it a chance and play through the entire game with it, but every time I try, it just feels...off, like something major is missing or like the class feels neglected. It's honestly why I kinda just shifted to Necromancer, then, eventually, Mesmer. I just came back from a 5 month break and I am genuinely curious if they were able to fix Elementalist's problems or if they made it worse.
  24. Yeah, it's a shame, I actually just got into Thief a few months back and loved it, but now my Thief is probably just going to collect dust.
