  1. I mostly play PVP necro specs and removing boon corruptions from weapon skills and two GRANDMASTER traits is a really huge blow to most necromancers in PVP. They can say they do not want to have range boon strips in WvW but Lesser Enfeeble is a small AOE around the necro so it`s basically a melee corrupt and both Unholy Feast and Spiteful Spirit are 600 range radius around the necro. Also without the boon corrupt what is even going to be the point of ever taking the spite GM trait Spiteful Spirit?
  2. I just wanted to share a thought that it feels like vanilla had more build variety while only having core necro compared to now when we have 3 elite specs. So much things got reworked and nerfed it is really silly. Spectral CD trait removed, Well trait removed, Scourge nuked to nonexistence, Unholy martyr nuked to oblivion, Corrupter's Fervor nerfed on all specs just because of harb(really sad here). I personally feel there is absolutely no real point in taking either death magic or blood magic in PVP on any build these days. This is regarding traits but if we take skills we have the recent wail of doom rework which is a massive hit to the skill, its not unblockable anymore which is huge and it has an increased cast time. Some people say fear synergizes with other traits but in PVP I would say the daze had more value cause fear has way too much counterplay being both a condition and a CC effect. Next we can take lich which was nerfed multiple times and these days I feel like I am actually severely limiting myself when using it since it blocks me from using my utilities and all other skills. The cast times for lich 4 and 5 are really long which really takes away from the 10 second duration, the fear wave has short rage and travels really slowly. I guess my point is that we've lost so many interesting/useful traits.
  3. I almost exclusively play spvp so I do not really see a lot of necros coming together. We talking about WvW? Dont think core necro is played that much these days there. I also dunno about that billion fear source. We have 4 fears when on core and 3 of those are short duration ones with long cds. Other classes seem to have a billion sources of cc and its apparently fine.
  4. Greetings! So this is a really old topic but I would like to ask if people are ok with the way fear and terror fear are treated. The problem I see that fear is both a condition and a CC effect which leads to a situation where it doesn't really get benefits from this but gets double downsides and now I would even say triple since resistance exists. Ordinary fear gets counter by: Condi cleanses and resistance on one side cause it is a condition. Stability and stunbreaks on the other side cause it is a CC effect. This is really unfair especially when you take terror fear into consideration. Correct me if I am wrong but I heard anet nerfed damage on all or most CC spells at some point so terror fear is like this super unique thing that can deal a good chunk of damage but gets countered by stability and stunbreaks which end up blocking damage in this case. Now I actually made a comic about fear vs stability in 2013 and it is still relevant: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/en/uploads/forum_attachment/file/76562/Terror_vs_Stability.jpg I am suggeting making terror fear interact with stability like it does on defiance bars where the damage goes through but the CC effect does not. I do not know how to make it interact with stunbreaks to not block damage. It would also be nice to have less counters for fear too. Edit: I didnt think of this but there is already a better example. Stability and terror fear should interact like it does with resistance where the damage stays but the fear effect is blocked.
  5. Was downloading yesterday with slow speed. VPNing to USA, disabling qos and adding text to the shortcut didnt help. Decided to leave it overnight. Once I closed most other programs(vpn, steam, ea app, gog, skype, telegram, discord, chrome) the speed went to its proper values and the download went smoothly afterwards.
  6. There is a good number of people(including me) that think daze is better due to less counterplay and unblockable daze was apparently fine. We have an unblockable mark with the same fear duration. But yeah the situation really sucks, I was actually using a banshee's veiled warhorn in sPVP before the nerf. They just decided to kick this skill in the nuts for some reason.
  7. Ive been mostly sPVPing when playing this game. I'm not that good and usually going up and down in G3 but I have been enjoying spite with dread for core terromancer for quite some time now. The quickness after doom into life blast spam is really nice.
  8. I was using warhorn with banshee's veil before they changed it. Now it just sucks compared to what it was before. You say it is aoe dps but the life force gain and damage is minimal while requiring you to be in melee range. The fear may be nice but the unbloackable daze was a way better peel. Daze has less counterplay than fear and the unblockable part was a huge deal of the ability. They also reduced the cast time so all in all it is bad compared to what it was and I am not using it anymore.
  9. Thanks for your input. You make it sound like the leave shroud cleanse is a big deal when it is only cleansing 2 conditions now.
  10. Thanks for your reply but the sustain is so low. When playing solo its not very team orinented and as I mentioned going for rezes is very risky a lot of times. I do have the curse 2 condi transfer but unholy martyr was way better before while still being quite random. Thing is you cant really cleanse leftover or additional conditions when you are in shroud after the initial transfer fromt he trait. The conditions might also run out before you decide to exit shroud so you wont consume anything.
  11. Hello! Metabattle still displays both core and reaper pvp builds using blood magic. Hardstuck displays core necro with blood magic. This is me speaking from a strictly solo Q perspective but I do not quite see much use from the blood magic tree these days. I guess allies not bleeding out when you are close is powerful but the rezzing potential that it gives may be negligible when in a lot of situations it is not advisable to go for a rez. The grandmaster traits are all meh. The builds tell you to go for unholy martyr but the nature of this trait in itself is random when you pull 5 conditions from allies each time you enter shroud. You might really get screwed sometimes if you pull some bad condies at you in a bad moment. Also this trait got nerfed from consuming 3 conditions to now consume only 2 when leaving shroud and also now gaining only 3% life force per consumed condition instead of the previous 7%. It got hit really hard and I am not entirely sure why. Instead of blood magic you could go spite and have spinal shivers with dread which can make a really nice life blast burst with that quickness when fearing as a core necro. I also have a question regarding off hand dagger. I abandoned it for quite some time and was enjoying focus even on a terrormancer build. The huge chunk of life force from focus 4 is really nice compared to the almost non existent life force generation on scepter+dagger while spinal shivers can crit for 5+ k on targets with 3 boons. I have been using off hand dagger lately and can see it being good utility with the condi transfer/blind/weakness but I still think that it should not be mandatory like it seems to be.

  13. Yeah, the patch notes do not say anything about changing the cast time and taking away the unblockable trait. Unblockable was a pretty huge part of this skill.
