  1. Yes I think we're talking past each other on what we mean by "choice", it's not important to what I'm trying to propose so I'll concede that. What I'm saying is the system is already generating 12 PvE objectives for someone that only checked PvE, 12 PvP objectives for someone that only checked PvP and 12 WvW objectives for someone that only checked WvW so why not show all these objectives to everyone and then limit them to being able to complete 12 objectives in total. That way they can mix and match whichever objectives they want without having to worry about having the wrong checkboxes checked for the reset. It's much more friendly for players this way.
  2. But I do participate in all 3 modes, it just differs per day what I feel like doing. At the moment I can do whatever I want. But with the new system if I keep my options open with checking all 3 checkboxes then if it turns out I only wanna do PvE for the day I'm limited to a 3rd of the objectives(4 in your example) compared to if I could predict the future and knew I wanted to do PvE and checked the correct box before the daily reset then I would get all objectives as PvE(12 in your example). What I'm proposing is a system where I don't have to check that box, I get shown all the available objectives(12 of each in your example) and can pick a 3rd of them to do(12 in your example). See how I'm not being unreasonable asking for more free stuff? I'm just asking for more choice?
  3. Yes I know. If you pick just PvE you get 12 PvE objectives. But if you pick all 3 you get 4 PvE objectives, 4 PvP objectives and 4 WvW objectives. I know that already, I'm not talking about that. Go read it properly.

  5. I do! I can choose between whatever PvE, PvP and WvW dailies I wanna do. There's no checkbox that limits which ones I see for the day/week, I can see them all and decide which ones I wanna do for each day based on which ones are given.
  6. So if we have 6 objectives in total. I pick PvE, PvP and WvW. I get 2 of each category. Someone else picks just PvE, they get 6 PvE objectives. Who is the one making the choice for which 2 PvE objectives I get out of those 6 available for the other person? Not me. Now if all 6 objectives from each category were available to all then everyone has full choice of which 6 objectives they'd want to do out of the 18 in total. Now I am the one making the choice of which ones I want to do, not the system.
  7. I dunno why y'all are getting so many confused face reactions but you're both right. This change is less choice than what we currently have. Instead of getting us to micromanage which objectives we want, instead give us the max of each objective and limit the total we can complete to the max of a single type of objective. So for example if the shown change were to give us 6 total objectives per day. It looks like if you were to choose all 3(PvE, PvP, WvW) it would give 2 of each, if you were to choose 2 it would give 3 of each, and 1 would give 6. What I'm proposing is to instead give 6 of each(18 in total) and then limit the total objectives you can complete to 6 per day. That way we freely have 18 objectives to choose from daily, giving us more choice, less micromanaging and more in line with what we currently have.
  8. I'm a disabled player and before these recent balance changes I was able to comfortably contribute to most roles in group play between Scrapper and Mechanist. Gameplay was fun and reactive now it's just a clunky mess which makes it very very difficult for me to properly contribute. Specifically, Kinetic Accelerators and Mechanical Genius are the problem. Kinetic Accelerators make it hard to keep up quickness in group play with leap finishers jumping me all over the place. While in solo play it's almost impossible because of how clunky it is putting down my own combo fields outside of gyros. Mechanical Genius is just ridiculous with how much the mech zooms around on its own. It really feels terrible to play now when it used to be so fun. I've since quit playing this game as Engineer has been my main since release and I'm not interested in switching to any other class when the balance of this game is so unstable, lacking any coherent balance philosophy and completely ignores the fun factor when making changes.

  10. If you think people are saying scrapper doesn't need a nerf at all then you haven't actually read through this thread. The people against the scrapper changes aren't saying that scrapper shouldn't be nerfed in WvW. We're saying the fundamental gameplay of a spec shouldn't be changed everywhere to fix a problem that exists in a single gamemode. There have been plenty of replies describing other possible ways in which scrapper can be nerfed that fix the problem in WvW without affecting the overall gameplay of the spec.
  11. When we are talking about a highly mobile bruiser spec, yes, that is the problem.
  12. Yeah this is the fundamental problem of this change. Changing a core mechanic makes it fundamentally different to play in all game modes. Not everyone plays WvW, why do we have to be affected by a substantial change to fix a problem that only exists in WvW?
  13. As a disabled player this kills my favourite spec for this exact reason. Now I'll be locked to mech.
  14. That's not true. It is for all gamemodes. Notice how other changes specifically mention "in PvP" or "in WvW".
  15. Then change something about it in WvW. Don't completely ruin Scrapper as a spec everywhere. Having gyros be stationary is antithetical to how the rest of the spec plays.
  16. How do you seriously talk about removing things that make a specialisation feel less fluid and then completely ruin Scrapper like that? So counterproductive.
