  1. New Year so, Logging in to plug this: 1,000% New' Bladesworn is even unplayable-er than launch. For a game billed around "freedom of movement" a class that has to stand in 1 place, whether it's 5 seconds, 2.5 or enen .1 is never going to be fun. Let alone the sorry, bugg-ridden state Bladesworn is in now. For what it's worth: I bought GW2 because of EoD I left because of Soto bladesworn changes. Please start with reverting these changes or tbh just make Dragon Slash an elite &/or rework the class entirely.
  2. While I don't disagree necessarily with the current sentiment of the Warrior forums. I believe in being productive, so bumping this thread 💪 as it seems the be one of the few with actual play, bug testing, experience, and more importantly actionable suggestions behind it. And for what it's worth, while I don't think everyone will ever align on what they think ANet should do with Bls, I like a lot of the suggestions made here, (as they're backed up with actual data,) and this is objectively better than what we have. I only pray that ANet reads it.
  3. @TyrantPuppy.1893 Having all the Grandmaster's actually dictate how many "bullets" you could load is actually a Really Novel idea imo. Especially if they all have different numbers and corresponding effects that makes sense. Hell you could even have ID have the 10 base' bullets, but have Unyielding Dragon go up to like 20 or something, and probably keep the same scaling for PvP. So that it would actually take more investment to hit, BUT IF YOU DID it would ACTUALLY DO DAMAGE!! Idk just a thought. I'd honestly prefer a less-insane solution to start personally tho. Just have the current alac trait be re-labeled ID. Bring Back DD, maybe with some resistance so you can't be immobilized (actually the low-key ultimate counter to Bladesworn since it prevents you turning to aim your shot, or DT Boost moving) and we gucci. ^^ @GigityCat.7529 Also yes, Unshakable Mountain is carrying the kit & ANet already said it's a stupid playstyle. Bring it down so you're not just "playing Unshakable Mountain" when you equip Bladesworn & make some of the utilities / GS skills actually interesting. :D
  4. Yes, heaven-forbid Warrior's have 1 good weapon. Riot indeed.
  5. @NeverLoseGuy.3894 I'm unsure on this because quickness is kind of more important for Berserker play and sort of smacks of "frenzy" to me. None of Bladesworn's actual attacks are fast. Especially not Gunsaber ones. (I'm not saying they shouldn't be, they're kind of all butt except the 4 rn.) I'm just saying in the current iteration they're not. So quickness makes more sense on Berserker to me + it's nice they FINALLY have an option for generating some might + fury in WvW+PvP since it doesn't give quick there anyway... Altho the trait having a CD at all is idiotic imo. What are people going to do? Use Bloodreconing for 8 more might!? OH NO THERE GOES BALANCE! But that's just my opinion. Regardless [HtS] being a major trait is a MUCH better place for "Ancillary Support Boon X" than sacrificing a Grandmaster to literally only do that. Old [Daring Dragon] was fun & as people have said, there are better implementations for Warrior Alacrity. Please bring it back.
  6. @FirePowerr.1820 Or, how about this: A signet. Probably fury sig, since I can't think of a single situation where you'd want to generate full, or near-full adrenaline/flow and not be in combat/do it to use your burst skill. But it could have a greater + effect then too. Maybe longer duration on the +prec&+ferocity bonus. Or something more creative.
  7. I agree with pretty much every/any suggestions for alternate society here. Would have been WAY more fun. To this point as well ^: How the hell, after 10+ years is there not a single sigil that would say: Give you a couple stacks of vuln, but also do something good, like heal you extra or whatever. If you didn't want to give yourself vuln, you could just like, not use the sigil. It would help War gameplay immensely. Idk any other class that suffers from "Am I in combat yet? Still no huh?" syndrome, except maybe Rev. And they can just swap their legends to get any energy they blow from initiating skills back regardless.
  8. Please bring old [Daring Dragon] back. It gave Bladesworn a fun and pretty unique play style. Alacrity belongs on [Lush Forest] or [Immortal Dragon]. There's no reason to sacrifice an entire unique playstyle that was used in PvP and WvW. 0. Especially when you could easily put the damage somewhere else. ----- (And as people have said here, as-is that alacrity trait' just makes it the DPS trait since now Dragon Slash does the same damage but charges faster with it.) It seems like you went out of your way to get rid of a unique builds that you just didn't want to exist honestly. & I'm personally not down with supporting a Studio that does that & goes to extra effort to ruin fun builds & tell people how to play when they highlight the importance of "fun" in their streams. Especially when there are easier, better options. (See above.) Please fix this.
  9. [Lush Forest] is an infinitely better place for this support' boon. One that doesn't sacrifice an entire playstyle that people have had for a year. Bump.
  10. So... [King of Fires] Berserker should be Meraleona: [Daring Dragon] Bladesworn should let people actually be Cloud: And Staff Warrior should literally be Draupnir from Dad of Boy II: Change my mind. 😄
  11. Solo arms actually adds the most damage if any trait line. Provided you can full stack the signed trait & 25 vuln consistently. So makes sense. This build is REALLY dope imo.
  12. Ok ANet look, I normally like never post stuff but the reason you don't see people coming to the defense of Bladesworn's [Daring Dragon] when someone on the forums, reddit, whatever goes "Oh trait sucks lol." Is because WE'RE TOO BUSY TEATING IT UP IN WVW! Do you have any idea how fun this trait is or the build options it affords?? I know you're getting a lot of flak for this patch, but thank you for posting it in advance. But also, for the love of God don't put alacrity here. Stick it on [Immortal Dragon] or [Lush Forest] or honestly just put it on Spellbreaker. (Thematically this makes more sense to me anyway since they have "clear minds.") But I really don't care. Just please let us keep this trait. 🙏🙏🙏
  13. Yeah I thought I'd put it up here as well for visibility. SPREAD THE WORD YO! & I def agree that could work if they ever reworked it. I like the flickerstep idea. 😄
  14. Below follows my Incomplete list of Bladesworn Bugs & inconsistencies that I've found since EoD's launch. I'm making this list because I LOVE the idea of this class. But frankly it's execution completely sucks. I want to make this clear upfront, this class's potential is awesome and I bear 0 ill-will towards ANet or their design team. I'm simply providing this list as a way of shedding light on some of the mountain of, maybe not readily apparent, small idiosyncrasies that exist and add up on this class in the hopes that someone somewhere either learns from my testing or can do something to fix it. And maybe rant a little. Hopefully, if nothing else, this sheds some light on the clunkiness of this class, and either helps steer people toward/away from it, or helps ANet learn from their design mistakes, or both. ------------------------------- Gunsaber: Gunsaber (GS) behavior has attributes of a weapon, a kit (bundle), and a transform, without consistently behaving as any 1 of these. If you press F1 you are able to weapon swap to/out of Gunsaber while airborne. But if you press the weapon swap button you can not, and receive the error message: "Cannot drop bundles while in the air." GS inconsistently inherits and applies bonuses from traits & game states that are conditional on having a certain weapon combination equipped (such as [Forceful Greatsword] vs [Dual Wielding].) *See below. Dragon Trigger: *Not a bug but important for later: Dragon Trigger (DT) will always dump the player into GS after using because it was originally designed to require GS to be out to use DT. With either your weapon swap on or off cooldown depending on what weapon set you were in when you entered DT. *Consequently this actually adds value to sPvP [Sigil of Intelligence] (which accidentally makes the class playable in competitive modes but almost always ensures that your Dragon Trigger slash will crit because you had to technically weapon swap through GS to get to DT. However this basically mandates that one of your now 2 Sigil slots be taken up by this. Which is bad design. Same with Mirage being balanced around [Sigil of Energy] existing. On top of this SoI does not exist in PvE / WvW, only the normally superior [Sigil of Vision] variant which only lasts for 3 seconds. 2.5 Of which are used standing in a spot charging your slash. And with or without SoI or SoV this just feels like terrible design and like butt to play. DT / Cooldown - DT still can be canceled sometimes mid-stance resulting in it being off cooldown. Albeit unreliably now, despite this bug being supposedly "fixed" on the Oct. 8th 2022 patch. This is most apparent if you organically run out of flow / bullets by doing Dragon Slashes with the trait [Daring Dragon] equipped. Which will always result in DT being off cooldown. Furthermore this "fix" introduced a new bug that nerfs extra flow generation for a buffer zone before and after Dragon Slashes are performed and while consuming flow and loading bullet charges in DT. Which affects all Bladesworn builds currently on live. (See [Daring Dragon] below for a full explanation.) [Dragon Trigger - Force] - Not a true aoe and cannot hit behind the character. [Dragon Trigger - Boost] - Routinely gets stuck on tiny invisible terrain if there is any kind of z-axis change present without moving the player character. [Dragon Trigger - Reach] - Will not hit targets on the far side of hills even though the "projectile" is shown to be following the terrain down to the target. Since being updated to be unlockable does not cause healing when the trait [Immortal Dragon] is equipped. [Daring Dragon] - The trait itself currently functions correctly, but when coupled with the flow bug introduced on October 8th does not execute slashes correctly, & can be used to illustrate the flow generation/consumption bug introduced in the Oct. 8th patch: If you equip [Daring Dragon] and build 100 flow in combat, with no additional flow generation modifiers, you can only currently get 7-8 Dragon Slashes off. Whereas prior to the Oct. 8th DT Cancel micro cooldown "bug fix" you could get the full 10-11. (Math: 10 flow per slash x 10 -100 starting flow +1 flow per second = 10-11 Slashes.) *Again, this currently affects every Bladesworn on live, they just probably don't notice it without DD. Arms: [Furious Burst] - Does not apply fury when a Dragon Trigger (DT) is cast. Only if you organically run out of flow & do not bug DT out with [Daring Dragon]. [Blademaster] - Incorrectly applies 160 stat points instead of 120 to both condition damage and expertise. And applies these bonuses both with the Gunsaber equipped and not equipped. (Which is inconsistent with the behavior of other weapon-specific stat bonus traits.) [Dual Wielding] - When 2 1-handed weapons of the same type are equipped, and you swap into Gunsaber you retain the attack speed bonus which is inconsistent with the behavior of other weapon-specific stat bonus traits. Discipline: [Versatile Power] - The burst skill cooldown reduction part of this trait functionally does nothing on Bladesworn. VP reduces the cooldowns of DT skills instead of the actual DT stance itself. *This would be fine except reducing [Dragon Trigger - Force] from 1s cd to 3/4s cd, for example, would only be relevant if you had [Daring Dragon] equipped. However with DD whenever you are performing repeated slashes the Bladesworn has to go through this stupid process of: Performing the slash > Swapping out of GS > Doing a minimum flow check > Swapping back into DT > Loading more bullets > Doing another slash > Repeat. Which, altogether takes more than 1 second anyway. *Imo VP doesn't need to be the best on BS. Not every trait does. But it should at least do something. And again doesn't because BS is coded in the clunkiest way possible. Other, Personal, Complaints: Once again, Warrior gets a "power melee" spec, with a new weapon that's only used in PvE, that has 0 condi or ranged or support synergy AT ALL regardless of how hard you spec into it. Whereas literally every other [EoD] spec got some form of hybrid weapon, support kit, ranged weapon or all 3. Yes, even Willbender. All of the Bladesworn utilities are, just like most Warrior Elite specs, completely useless in sPvP and sWvW with the stunbreak as the most egregious example as it's evade window and distance was actually nerfed to make is a PvE skill, and just a worse version of [Lightning Reflexes] in PvP. "Bladesworn" is the stupidest name on God's green earth for this class. It should have been called "Dragon Soul" or "Dragunsworn" or "Dragunner" or literally ANYTHING to keep with the dragon-theming of the slashes/cantha/this expansion. [Flow Stabilizer] - Is still called "Flow Stabilizer" and has not been renamed to "Furious Flow" or anything like this. Despite giving fury now instead of stability. You can't turn your character around to aim your Dragon Slashes AT ALL. So if you're aiming off a cliff or if whatever you're fighting stealths & runs behind you, eve if you know they did, you can't hit them & will just lose because, again, [Dragon Trigger - Force] only hits in front of you despite having the animation of a true aoe. You can't customize your Gunsaber AT ALL. And none of the GS or DT skills are affected by legendaries. We now only get 2 sigil slots. 1 of which is mandated to be SoI, even though standing still in 1 spot for 2.5+ seconds is not the most conducive class design for sPvP/sWvW. [Unshakable Mountain] is stupidly powerful compared to your other options. The swapping through GS to go in to/out of DT stance is idiotic and DT should just be remade to be it's own separate bundle/transform. – This would also sole A LOT of the above-mentioned ^ bugs. You can still jump DT slashes with perfect timing, but cannot jump while in DT to counter this. [Flicker Step] - Has 300 range, a 60s cd, no animation, and is not a real teleport. I don't care what ANet says. This class has no place in zerging. None. One of its grandmasters should unlimit the target cap of DT and make it do more damage the more targets you hit. Or literally ANYTHING. --- How To FIX All of That ^ --- Bladesworn has S-Tier class fantasy potential and D- execution. It's buggy, bad, feels like butt to play. I love it, but it needs to be completely redone. Not redesigned, just remade.
