Same experience in Platinum at least. Got called trash once after I won a few duels verse one of the top US player.
Most of the time I just ignore chat and do what I want. They end up just pinging the map forever.

We just don't have the player count we once had. Most people come to play Gw2 for the big epic adventure, which includes Story, Meta Events, Open World quest progression.
This will only get worse over time as more people come just for that content and Arena Net just focuses on that (which they have already)
The best we can hope for is some scraps from when they do WvW updates.

I think this is the main problem, distortion is fine since it has tell. The hardest thing to notice is Aegis but all the other damage immunitys have a blurring effect on a Mesmer.

I noticed an increasing number of threads on the PvP Forum about how unfair fighting a Virtuoso is.
This does all stem from the fact the wider PvP player base have no idea how the Virtuoso Damage Immunity works.I don't see this ending well again for Mesmer, I feel like this class is too hard to understand for the normies and will just be nerfed forever.
Good luck on them returning the Second Dodge to Mirage, it's probably never coming back.

Wyvern pets should be used for CC, not dps. Bring a feline (just about every feline is about even) and ele wyvern or gazelle for CC. You should be able to get the buff up relatively quickly anyways since pets are immune to CC in pve.
The boss moves, goes immune, can't be hit except for condition damage, cleanses conditions.The best recommendation is to focus a build on a particular type of damage and encounter; that is the peak of benchmarking your build.
A perfect example is Soulbeast (Scrapper too), this is hands down one of the best Power DPS in the game due how quick your burst rotation is on a single target. Untamed by comparison is a much slower ramp up but has plenty of AoE so it can really push out the damage numbers when facing a Boss + Ads.
Wyvern has a double attack (Wing Swipe) which helps trigger Ferocious Symbiosis faster. I agree with the idea Pets bring almost no damage to any encounter hence why most run them for CC.

Normally when I see a grenade throwing Engineer we just target him first, same principle behind Soulbeast too.
If you put but of team pressure on the grenadier then they either leave or die.

Honestly I find a good Mirage the hardest Mesmer to deal with since it seems like they can run at a moment notice and chasing them is impossible to do.
Like people have been saying it's very easy to watch for when a Virtuoso is not immune to damage and just CC them which intern makes them fall over.

Golem benchmarked builds are never a good thing to go off. The Ferocious Symbiosis suggestion is a great idea, also run Wyvern pets since they attack twice so it triggers the buff even faster.

No and no, they can only automatically use there abilities when they are not unleashed.
Also most of there abilities won't activate untill a certain condition is meet like being under 50% health for a heal pet skill.

Personally Revenant is best played in the open world due to the share utility it brings. The same could be said for WvW where classes that are able to provide boons while not in combat is better than ones that do not.

Using Glyph of the Stars into Ancestral Grace and then lay all your Traps is very fun for a Zerg clash. It's a bit of a different way to play over the more Root focused Druid.

I don't know if you know this but most dps supports can preform better or equal to most DPS benchmarks. The difference is a percentage so if the top dps is 20k the dps supports are at 15k.
When I play Virtuoso in raids/strikes I often slot in Inspiration when there isn't a dps requirement (normally to cheese the fight)

Firebrand can barely cover quickness unless they focus on that and not healing. In my opinion Herald could still be used since it has very good DPS for a quickness support.

I don't know which game mode you mean here but Soulbeast in particular is A tier in most game modes with Untamed not far behind.
You have to focus on what Ranger is used for. Ranger is played in two ways, set up and pay off like with Soulbeast/Untamed or a snowball effect like with Untamed/Druid.
A perfect example is the longer you PvP a Druid the more disadvantage you have since his cooldowns are low and the sustained healing is high. This is why the best strategies for Druid involve stalling a fight with roots or traps.
Another good example is the chain CC on Untamed in PvE. It is possible to give youself almost all boons in the game plus 2 stacks of stability permanently after about 10 seconds of fighting.

The reason Mantras were effective in WvW roaming is because they had no counter play. Now with a cast time people can interrupt you, your best bet is to stealth or hide behind a boon or bubble like feedback.

Untill they decide to split it further I doupt any buff will come though due to how strong Firebrand is in WvW

Yeah I think that will be the situation too.
Saying that though hitting some of the steals will be hard vs certain professions.

True they are bias; we can only hope they can come up with some sort of solution.
I thought it would be funny if they have been trying to tweak the Mirage Cloak, but they could not figure it out, due to whoever coded it before making it too complex to change.

The post talked about PvP and never specified so I can only assume he meant both. sPvP is conquest while PvP can include WvW but I will agree it is hard to tell which is why I use explicit language.
The first real mention of a split between the 2 pvp modes was in my post. Most talk about them collectively with Firebrand.

No not really, your other option is probably Mirage with Greatsword.
The Virtuoso utilities can do okay damage and you could run Inspiration with bladesongs just to heal.
There are options but Chronomancer is definitely the king of Zergs much like how Druid is for Ranger.
