  1. Curently in wvw if you are power you will take full marauder (or even berserker, using abilities as survival tools instead, such as invulns, dodges, blocks, evades). If you are condi, you generally take full dire (or viper's in some cases e.g burn DH bomber). In my opinion gear in wvw should be more than just the standard "marauder if power or vipers or dire if condi... How do we address this?? I think the best solution is to tone down damage numbers. They are power crept far beyond what wvw was designed for. A berserker can pump out 2 x 30,000 ard dividers in the space of 3 seconds. A daredevil can aoe pound for 20k crits over and over. Soulbeasts do 15-20k rapid fires from 1500 range. And condi bombs have made wvw about pirate shipping. Condi shouldn't be a huge red death circle that if you touch you die... hell, even cleanses are too much. I think if damage numbers went down it would be good for the game. It would bring both roaming and zerging fights back down to where they are supposed to be. Roaming currently is throw as much damage out onto your opponent faster than he can and you win. Zerging is red circle of death.... lower damage numbers would (in my huuuumble opinion) make fights more meaningful. Currently, there is NO time to react. Of you touch red circle you instantly die. If you blink vs your opponent you will get hit with a 15k decapitating strike.
  2. By this I mean will there ever be a new permanent game mode added that isn't 5v5 conquest. I ask because over the years the pvp population has gotten so much smaller. And not only that but conquest only has received one (or was it 2?) New maps, with absolutely zero visual updates. I do not count the gladiator arena update where they added the boxes/terrain as an update; it was a much needed balance patch that was long overdue from the start. If you spend a few hours, let alone your week playing spvp you will notice the same people over and over and over again. Many posts have been made about the unsustainability of 5v5 conquest. Now, I have read the forum reply of Ben about 2v2/3v3 and how the big update and how they are "nearly done", but the thing that saddened me the most is that 2v2/3v3 is going to be only an event in between pvp seasons, rather than a new game mode. I've said this multiple times, and I really do stand by it... I think 3v3 at the very least should be a ranked ladder. I am perfectly aware that it will take away from the conquest population even further but honestly that game mode wasn't sustainable anyway.. maybe a handful of people will enjoy it as their MAIN game mode (people like Vallun, Ajaxx, Mukluk etc) who can, somehow, queue over and over again into the same people. It's a little bit of a long shot, and probably will get hated on but dammmm. We need a new game mode for pvp that are permanent. The spvp content updates are virtually non existent, with balance patches taking far too long to come out, even though they have started doing pvp balancing separately. For now I'll just continue to roam/zergvin wvw, but I still dream....
  3. Have you guys/girls seen these weapons? They look BETTER than legendaries. Look at the longbow, and greatsword. Totally outshines Pharus and Exordium. The rifle is the best I've seen, and I was very impressed with Arcanist rifle from the gemstore. Please make these weapons a collection, instead of having to pay 2000 gems for just ONE

  5. Since the introduction of templates I have been in a bit of a weird situation. I have been able to quickly swap both builds and equipment sets at the push of a button, yes. However.... I'm noticing that more often than not, I am now forced to think really hard about whether I want to do a certain mode of the game on a certain character, because I don't have enough build or equipment slots to play an efficient build for that mode. An example; I have 4 equipment slots and 4 build slots on my warrior (I bought the extra ones as it is my most played character). The four builds I run are Berserker zerging for wvw, Spellbreaker zerging for wvw, Core warrior roaming for wvw, and Spell breaker roaming for WvW. Now I swap between these builds very regularly. I live in NZ, so in peak times I can happily swap between zerg builds, and when its down time with less people I roam on the roaming builds depending what I feel like. Here is the problem though. Even though I have spent quite a bit of money, if I want to do any PvE content on my warrior, I have to essentially "give up" both an equipment slot and build slot, as the templates arnt actually "locked" and then saved. So I default to using my Berserker roaming build (which has greatsword and 2 axes spin to win) for any pve content... but its highly ineffecient, because taking stances for wvw etc, and again, I can't really swap them without having to change them back later, and if I forget to swap back a trait or ability then.. well thats that. And thats on a character I bought some templates for. My necro now is limited to Open world reaper minion master, and celestial scourge for wvw. And if I want to do some roaming on it in wvw? Welp... i guess id better use my inefficient reaper minion master build in wvw.... can't tweak it without opening note pad on all the little (and big) things that I changed to make it work temporarily.... This whole thing can be solved in either 2 ways (these are my solutions, there may be other ways). I hope that this feedback will reach Anet and they will act on it somehow... 1) Templates cost less, or you get more per the current price. Realistically I would probably need something like 6-10 builds per character. I know before templates came out, people had upwards of 20 per character for certain raid encounters/fractal runs/wvw builds etc. But this is unaffordable! I play 8 classes (the only one i dont touch being ele)... And i want to be able to freely play them all in whichever way I feel like at the time, but without any save button, and the high price of templates... I am finding certain characters of mine locked out of content because I really dont want to change my build templates and change them back etc.... I would say a reasonable price of template is 100 gems per build template and 100 gems per gear template, maybe 150. 2) Give us a save button that LOCKS the SAVED template. You are free to tinker with build and stuff, but if you click on the template again it will undo all the little tweaks and changes that you have made and go back to the original template. While its not perfectly efficient, I would be happy with even this. 3) give us something, anything, to give me freedom. Templates were supposed to be a good thing. Now, inbetween worrying about whether I lost a legendary among my template builds, why I have an extra sigil of force in my bag and going through all my builds to check if one of my builds is missing a sigil, and removing ONE item and having to check through ALL my builds to make sure that I am not missing a piece of gear on said template... ugh. For a quality of life that took so long to come out, its really inconvenient at times. I am grateful, but it could be so much better.
  6. I would like to add though, that I personally will never use capes. I did buy it to tinker with it etc, but it has never been my thing. I prefer the amazing backpacks of this game. Im just generally happy that Anet finally listened and has shown us they can deliver what the playerbase wants!
  7. Credit where credit is due, capes have been wanted by a HUGE amount of players over the years. Nearly every month or so we get a post asking about capes. Even though it took years and years (and years), you guys finally did it... and made them dyable on top of it, which had never been done with any other backpack. Do you see how amazing the response is? How much cash you guys made from every account logging on? I'm sure if you check your statistics and logs, 90% of accounts that logged in had a gemstore purchase within the first 10 minutes of playing! It was a very asked for thing, and ANet you guys finally delivered (without flopping. kind of like templates, but I digress). Now, please continue listening to us from here. Blizzard has only started to do this after 16 or so years of running their mmo. Anet doesn't need to take this long! It doesnt have to be huge things, but continue to consider, if a huge amount of players keep asking for something, be it in game balance changes, item requests like capes (horse mounts perhaps?), or ui/quality of life changes, it will be so good for Guild wars! My request - the log in screen be updated to today's standards. Let us set "favourite" characters, that don't move back when they are no longer the most recently logged on toon on our acc. Let us "lock" characters in places if we wish, so that we know exactly where our characters are. Its a small thing, compared to letting CAPES that can be DYED in the game! But yeah, credit where credit is due. Good job Arenanet. Even though I hate your lack of content, and people may hate on the gemstore locking (the guild capes are tiny and pathetic), you guys did a good thing!
  8. So after waiting a while after the icebrood saga intro, I played 30 minutes on the new map and got bored. We waited so long for this. Was it just me that was expecting an expansion level of content to be released going from s4 to s5? The new mastery doesn't feel good at all. Hot brought gliding and movement, and pof bought mounts... wth is the raven stuff??? I'll say it again. We dont need living world maps that we wait months for and burn through in a few hours. We need CONTENT. A new pvp game mode such as arenas. Something new for wvw like dueling zones. Dungeons that matter, new fractal level from 100-110. This is so disappointing. You dropped the ball so hare with your icebrood saga announcement remember? When you gathered people to a convention for something that could have been done on a blog post. Then we wait and get this. Is this it? Yeah I've heard people saying "more frequent releases" but anything short of once every month... so what? Even then. It's obvious that living world is what you're going to stick with, introducing new maps. This is fine. But not if it takes this long and has such little content. Icebrood saga could actually have been a different framework for an expansion.... I'm so disappointed. I didnt expect new elite specs just yet, though they would have been nice, but the masteries are a total let down. Add to that there is nothing new at all....
  9. So you only get 3 per acc on release and have to buy more if you want to be able to use more than 3 builds?? Is the 3 build slots per class?? So 3 ranger builds and 3 warrior builds etc, or just 3 across the whole acc?? Because.... gem store for build slots seems kind of money grubbing. I'm grateful for the system though sigh...
  10. I said except thief as a player who no longer plays mine. My auto attacks using sword with might runes crit for 2 to 3k. My backstab with full marauder gear crits for 4 to 6k while warriors in marauder bulls charge crits me for 9k. Read my post history. I gave up thief months ago. They hit like wet noodles. A holo can just press f5 and boom pew pew lazer me. My backstab thief has been laughed at for years. Even if I land a backstab I have nothing else that hits anywhere near as hard. But sure nerf thief too. I just want to get rid of the status currently where every prof does too much damage. If this means thief (which again I havnt touched for months) is deleted from the game then sure.
  11. Currently everybody one shots everybody. People can kill any profession in around 2 to 5 seconds. Increasing the effectiveness of toughness so people run more than marauder gear would be a step in the right direction.
  12. To address the power creep, increase how much damage toughness reduces in wvw by 20% (except thief) and vital for condi by the same Ez gg

So the multiple threads I have posted regarding power creep seem to have fallen on deaf ears, with warriors getting a trait that increases their damage by 50% vs targets that are affected by barrier. So this means scrappers, who is UNABLE to control when they apply barrier to themselves, will take permanent 50% damage from warriors in pvp and wvw. A scourge can at least see a warrior and decide not to press f3 and f5. A scrapper has no option for this; if you fight back, you take 50% more damage due to having a barrier on you that could potentially only be 100-200 barrier anyway. Please don't do this.
  14. It's also diluted game play. So whereas people used to have to take condi cleanse for their builds they dont any more. And its pushed the game to the trinity that gw2 has stayed away from ot not been a part of. And cos most specs are bring pushed that way, the dps do moreeee dps. Heals so moreee heals per second. Its power creep.
  15. Yep. Remember when blast finishers in water fields mattered? Lol jk this elite spec can do copious amounts of healing. Dont worry just play we got you with our absurd amounts of condi cleanse and healing.
  16. But maybe I remember the glory days of WvW wrong. We where so young then. Yeah it probably was higher, my bad. But it was an elite skill coupled with autos that put out such high damage. Nowadays that damage is laughable, and with skills like deaths judgement doing entire hp bars, not only one shotting people but also effectively negating gear and builds such as toughness tanks. I know people with 3k toughness in their builds that have been blown out of the water by the damage in the game. And it all started with elite specs.
  17. Please dont do this again where you take an amazing profession with s high skill ceiling and simply add an "I win" button to it (photon forge) in the form of an elite spec. I LOVED the engineer. It was my favourite profession. Yishis got me into engi in wvw and even to this day I watch his videos over and over and over again. But now core engineer simply cant compete with all the power crept elite specs that have been added in the game. And sure I coudl play holosmith too. But the power creep is so far that everybody can just blow me up. It's nolonger fights, but a rush to get abilities off first and kill first. Sure, new mechanics are okay. I'm fine with barrier being added. I'm fine with new weapons for elite specs. What I dont like is invalidating the core specs and overpowering them over the years to the point where any person can blow up and essentially one shot any other person regardless of skill. People deal way too much damage in wvw. It used to take coordination and timing to condi bomb somebody, or burst with power damage. Ridiculous damage modifiers wernt a thing. I miss heen thief backstab actually did something instead of hitting like a wet noodle. I miss when dead eye one shot for upwards of 20k damage didnt exist. I miss having to pull somebody from stealth on engineer then crowbar them for condi burst (which by the way was only 6 confusion, huge back in those days, laughable fart aoe damage in today's terms). Please please dont do this with the next round of elite specs. At least for pvp and specially for wvw. I realized long ago that skill no longer meant you could outplay 2 or 3 opponents if you played amazing, but I miss those days. Now scourge can just f1-f5 bomb and blow you up. Holosmith get a free 1 win button from photon forge that makes a mockery of core power engineer. Since the gear in gw2 is locked to ascended quality, power creep has occured in the form of elite specs. And I hate it so much. Look at what power reaper is compared to core power necro. Core necro just can't compete. Remember when lich form did huge auto attacks in the form of 2-3k damage? Now reaper shroud auto hits harder and faster than that. Ugh. Please dont do this anymore. It's not fun.
  18. Hello could we have some melee 2 handed condi weapons please. Maybe something like rev 2 handed greatsword potentially being a condi weapon. Or maybe necromancers get 2 handed hammer but its condi based, or warriors getting staff that deals condi through quick strikes (maybe monk like style idk). Would be awesome to see what anet could do with this. Those that played viper reaper condi gs when it was viable know hoe fun it was. Thoughts??
  19. Yeah I just hope that they do SOMETHING. Anything. Conquest didn't fail per se, it just.... it was just left alone for far too long. And the power creep and shrinking population basically killed it. 3v3 arenas would be so nice. The fact that a lot of us would settle for dueling, a staple feature in every other mmo, tells us a lot about how "fun" this main game mode is.
  20. So mike z had an interview in which he said 2v2 would mostly be an in between season event. As somebody who was hoping for a ranked ladder this made me so sad. He went on to give decent reasons as to why they wanted conquest to be the main game mode, but honestly, the population just simply isn't there for this to continue... If conquest will continue to be the main (basically only mode with attention from anet) then we need some serious balance teams on it monthly, as well as new maps and map balances and visual updates. Because let's face it, the original pvp maps are terribly bland. Since I can no longer hope for ranked 2v2 or 3v3 arena, I beg arena net to please please add dueling in some way shape or form OTHER than the customs. I was doing my daily charged quartz and bumped into two new players who were obviously new and obviously gf/bf. I chatted to them and helped them out, sent them bags etc. And the first thing one of them asked was "how do we fight each other". And what I had to do was just so inconvenient and time consuming and confusing to explain. Instead of something like "oh, right click on this guy and press duel", or "go to these designated areas in the world or cities and fight", I had to baby step them on how to go to pvp lobby/interface and join a custom arena and join the same server and join the same map but on different teams then tun them to the middle of the map for them to fight only for the circle to cap because one of them stood on it and match end.... sigh. So.... I guess I'm just super sad. Now that ranked arena is basically out of the question, I hope to god dueling is added in some maps that won't affect meta events too much, or maybe even some parts of cities, perhaps rotating every day since there are no events there.. Does anybody else feel really let down or disappointed that conquest will be the main mode for pvp??? Its obviously in huge decline and so old...
  21. Unless the new saga is HoT type difficulty where it actually takes decent open world builds to do content I fear it will be really boring and zoom through with no challenge again.
