-Knight from Final Fantasy Explorers (3DS)A classic and very efficient sword and board tank that has high attack and defense but has very limited AoE attacks. In GW2, I think we'll need some major tweak to warrior if I could even play that, though for the AoE part, we already got that.

-Inquisitor from Grim DawnSome kind of mix between a dual pistol thief and guardian in gw2, really enjoyed that class in GD. However, not sure how I could do that in GW2.

They do it by making it a Thief with some guardian abilities.

  2. They need to have 4 or 5 Elites Specializations. I really thought they would have had concrete ideas when they first come up with the concept, but it seems like they're creating ideas as they go along. I know new technologies come and they're making adjustments as times changing, but I think the players aren't even asking for all the things their trying to do.

To be honest, they could have simply added a skill type and weapon to a class that didn't have it, like the first elites, but what they did with the second elites, they created whole new skill types. They did a great job, but they didn't have to go so big. Plus with all the tweaks they're making to skills, like changing thieves' traps to preparations and chsnges to some engineer skills..., those could have been skills for new elites.

I know that in the end this is ANet's game, but if their have problems coming up with elite skills, I'd say keep it simple, they have a good thing going. Elites were supposed to help the professions feel like a secondary class, fill a role that profession was missing, or fill a thematic void of that profession. 5 Elites would do that.

    • Weapons not locked to Elites.
    • New Elites
    • New Legendaries
    • Dyeable Legendary Weapons and Backs.
    • Tengu, Kodan or Dwarves playable.
    • More slots for Guilds.
    • Outfits in Gem Store as individual pieces.
    • Shortcut to active the outfit.
    • More horizontal leveling diversity.
    • I think it's time to give you alts AI and use your alts as pets in group pvp or pve. Be able to assign them roles and give them personality.
    • Add 3 elites spec. this time, instead of 1.
    • Expand underwater content.
    • Out at sea content.

I would like to have one legend that's not from lore, but maybe from the future.

Wouldn't getting a legend from the future kinda open
    alot
    of questions?

Revenants are able to communicate with these legends in the mists. If there is a legend from the future, then I would be like "so, why doesn't my revenant simply ask this guy how they defeated the elder dragons?".

Usually having characters from the future would just make people question why we don't draw crucial information from them, which makes the whole conflict with the elder dragon anticlimatic.

Wait a second, we are talking about the same Revenant that has Mastery over the Mist, which "touchs all things and binds the universe together, past, present, and future." Ever heard of a Seer. Even Glint was somewhat a fortune teller. Maybe the legend we tap into is our future self, that can only give hints, but can't give direct information that would drastically offset the timeline continuum. Or maybe they don't want to spoil everything for us, or some concepts in the future are too hard to grasp, or maybe they themselves aren't scholars of knowledge and don't fully know their own history.

If you went back to the past and someone asked you, "who was the lead actor in the play that Lincoln went to when he was shot", would you know?

You are comparing the information about the lead actor in the play Lincoln got shot (which is absolutely meaningless for this event) with the information how the biggest threat for the entire planet got defeated. Which I would argue that this information is alot more impactful.

If I would travel back in time and someone would ask me how Lincoln is going to die, however, I
    would
be able to tell them how he died and even the name of the guy who shot him. Which could possible lead to them preventing this event completely.

And if my future self would be unwilling to tell me how I managed to defeat the elder dragons, which are a major threat not only for my own life but also for the life of everyone I care about, simply because he doesn't want to
    spoil
that for me, then I would have to think that my future self is a complete a**hole.

My point was not to say how that Lincoln assassination was not important to stop, but to stress you don't know what may seem important to someone at that time and that there is some information that you know you've never learned or would never remember. Also, we only know what's important to the ones who taught us. Another thing is, we might not know every single detail of an event that may be crucial to changing the event.

I give it to you that my example may have been a bad one, but there's so many things we learned that we trurly still don't know the truth about. Just pick any controversial conspiracy theory of our time. From the moon landing, RFK assassination, Waco Tx, 9/11, the War in Iraq, the election of Obama and the Election of Donald Trump. You name it. Maybe going back in time and seeing things with our own eyes might change what we knew to be true.

Even if you were to go back in time, with true information, you think you alone would have the power to stop a major event from happening. There are so many variables that I could say about how a time traveler could not prevent a past event from happening.

With that being said, I think a Revenant from the future would be a great way to go. They don't have to be all knowing and all seeing, but they could give some premonition that could buff our character. I think it's a great theme to the Revenant that we haven't explored. A ritualist that can connect with a future legend instead of a legend from the past, having a special mastery of the mist that we've yet to explore and could not even fathom.

  6. I don't see the point or need of having new weapons.1) People already complain about balancing with skills.2) Would the Devs come up with all the skins.3) They could use the current weapons they have and add what every animations they want to look like the OP weapons.4) They made and can make skins that look like those OP's weapons.

I like new weapons and the idea of having something new. I just feel, of all things the Devs could create, this would be the last thing I'll be interest in. I rather add see new elites specialization that use the current weapons differently, see new playable races, and all of Living World Season 1 added to the game.

  7. @KryTiKaL.3125 said:Do not get it into your heads as an expectation for the Expansion that Tengu will be a playable race. Because if that doesn't happen then you're just going to show back up on these forums and throw a fit. We know nothing about this expansion aside from the fact that its like 90% confirmed to be in Cantha.

@particlepinata.9865 said:I think the expac will get a new race option, likely the Tengu. It would be an expac race, could be full 80 or not. If starting with level 1 (or lets say 40) , there could be a island (like gw 1 factions and nightfall had), with own levelingexperience/ps . It would need to have proper tutorials (especially cc and bosses etc) .Players can choose if they start a new charr of any of the now 6 races, or with a earlier leveled char. When choosing a tengu, you do have limited earlier story and armors, thats the consequense. Who doesnt like that, fine its not like the other 5 races are going away. It would not make sense that the new race would be able to play earlier story, which it wasnt part of anyway. Biggest point, an expac needs a unique selling point, this is the best choice in my opinion. And thats makes more things possible B)

@"VocalThought.9835" said:I don't see how people say adding a new race is too difficult when ANet had nothing but time to add new races or any other content. Since the launch of GW2, Devs knew exactly what players wanted with new content. We wanted new races, new classes, mounts, better underwater content, new weapons, better AI for pets, and to use created characters as heroes.

Since the release of HOT, I feel the Devs have done plenty to change the trajectory of what the game is capable of, by adding Elite Specializations and a Mastery System. They always said their initial game system was not capable of taking the game the direction they wanted to go. So, I guess all this time since HOT their time was spent on just POF and the Living World? I hope not.

I don't think ANet will give all players what they want, but I do think they're capable of giving in on several requests and new races are doable. All ANet has to do to satisfy most players is to create at least 2 more Elite Specializations, but if they want to attract new players they would have to:
    • Create at least 2 more races.
    • Add Season 1 of Living World
    • Create better AI for pets
    • Improve and expand underwater content.

The thing you have to understand about adding a new race if that these suggestions fall right into what I explained in an earlier post of mine. You want something so badly you come with any and all reasons as to the "why" and the "how" when those might not be the best way to approach doing something like this.

In the first instance here you're still running into the same hurdles that have been outlined before. They would need to devote dev time and resources into designing these areas, writing story for the intro missions as well as any further Personal Story missions that follow it. This would mean designing a similar amount of Personal Story choices when you are going through character creation, and even if you restrict that...all you're doing is compromising to such an extent that it will likely be a worse new character experience. Also no one is saying they
    don't
want the Tengu as a playable race, @particlepinata.9865 , myself and others are implying that its just not feasible to the extent that it would need to be developed to actually do justice to even adding a new playable race to the game.

Now in the second instance, we already know they've had layoffs...which means if they did start developing anything before the months leading up to that then they likely lost a lot of the team that was working on it. We're also, still, talking about them needing to devote dev time and resources to developing new playable races specifically. With all that would be involved in doing that it isn't just a few people that do it, there is a team that works on that. The same team that likely develops and works on other things in the game. People to work on the story and dialogue, people to work on the cutscenes, people to work on the maps and environments, people to work on the NPCs in those environments, people to work on the racial specific armors and weapons, and among other things likely more technical. This would all be on top of having people working on story and dialogue for the broader expansion itself, maps and environments, new armor and weapon skins, cutscenes, NPCs, etc etc.

@Shadowmoon.7986 said:I would personally love having tengu, and would be willing to make concessions to have it happen. Basically remove all the barrier that keep it from happening.Problem 1: having to remake all the old armors and outfits for a new race.Solution: restrict armor skins to cultural tengu only skins and any newly released canthan skins. Possible exceptions being lengendary armors. This can be achieve by the same mechanism as hellfire and radient armor works for the cultural skins.Problem 2: you would have record a back catalog of line for dungeons, raids, living story episodes.Solution: start all old content with a disclaimer that you are reliving events of the commander who is canonically a human male, so all old voice acting is covered by the male human voice. Tengu character are not the commander, they do not enter the story until xpac 3.Problem 3: tengu characters would need a personal story, hot, pof, and ls2 3 and 4.Solution: tengu character are not the commander, do not have access to these storyline. Their story starts at xpac 3. Because of these restrictions, they should either start at lvl 80 or mb at lvl 70, but by the time they leave dominion of the winds they are at lvl 80. Tengu should be a elite race, which means to access them, you need to have at least 1 character at lvl 80.

These is also this which is just compromising for the sake of just having something. However, honestly, some of what you're suggesting here would be more work as per your last suggestion they would need to put enough content into the Dominion of Winds
    alone
to satisfy all of the things necessary to level to 80 in a PvE area. You're also suggesting having them create an entirely new storyline for the Tengu which is already a check in the things making adding them as a playable race more difficult, or time consuming.

Again...no one is saying that they don't want the Tengu as a playable race, that is nowhere near what is being explained here. It is just simply that we don't think ANet can or will devote the necessary amount of Dev time to doing something like that, especially considering how content starved people have been for
    years
, at least the more veteran ones. ANet is, at least based on more recent posts by them, seeming to go more in the direction of satisfying more Veteran players in the game by adding actual content to the game, as well as improving rewards. They have already said that there is a new Fractal coming that will have a challenge mode, as well as this upcoming update where they are seemingly going to be adding a Weekly Rewards chest for completing the necessary Strikes. If they have any intention, which we don't know yet, of keeping with that trend going into the next expansion then I don't think that leaves much room for all of the necessary work required for adding a new playable race. Even in WoW expansions when they added a new race that was just
    a
    selling point not
    the
selling point, because Blizzard has the amount of staff to compartmentalize in that way. ANet...kinda doesn't. They have even a smaller team now, at least supposedly, than the devs behind Warframe and Warframe updates are typically an all hands (or most) on deck endeavor, at least from what I have gleaned from how they talk about their work on their devstreams. This is all just conjecture on my part, certainly, but its all compiled with information we know and ANets stance on such things that have been said in the past. If they never intended to work on a new race for HoT, if they never intended to work on a new race for PoF then it doesn't seem very feasible that they will do that for Expansion 3.

Believe me, I am all for being wrong on this and if they prove me wrong then
    fantastic
they will have exceeded however little expectations I have for this coming expansion. That is to say I don't have any, which isn't me saying anything negative about them as a company, I just don't like to put ideas into my own head when there is no possible way that I could know what is coming.

Don't build up your hopes or your expectations for something like this because if you do and then it turns out there is no new playable race coming with the expansion, Tengu or otherwise, then all the people who had their hopes and expectations artificially built up over nothing will do is just roll onto these forums, and reddit, and throw a fit.

I can't help but to reply. I don't care what layoffs been had. These people work 8 plus hours a day to do a job that puts food on their table doing some they love and are experts at. I can see if I was writing code, trying to come up with a story, and create character models, but we're not talking about me or you doing this. We're talking about Trained, Educated, and Professional, Artist, Writers, and Game Designers. This game has been out since when...? How many Marvel Movies have we seen? How many Walking Dead Episodes have we watched? How many lug nuts have Mechanics turned? How many homework assignments have teachers graded? Their job might be hard work, but it's easier for them then for us. I'm sure it doesn't take 10 years to create what we're looking for.

  10. I think the best thing they can do for this expansion is to stay on track with what they have been doing with Elite Specializations. No Dual Classes, no One Elite to suit them all. Just add an elite specialization, like they did in HOT and POF. If there was going to be a change, add 2 elites, instead of 1. Therefore people can enjoy dabbling with both.

I also think they should add two races, the Tengu and the Largos. I don't care if the use the Charr or Norn body's as a model, but have two races with racial skills and origin stories would definitely make playing worth while.

Finish adding Season 1. Now, of course this shouldn't be part of the expansion, but it definitely worth adding to the game by the time the new expansion comes out.

Since mounts are part of POF Expansion, I don't think adding more mounts should be the the mastery system, unless it's underwater mounts. I think incorporating a similar system like HOT would be fine, if it's done right and actually has great benefit.

I think if they did add a hero system, than you should be able touse your own created character if you wanted, or hire a NPC. It would also be great if your character's personality was factored into the AI on how they play. Almost like in Dragon's Dogma, without them screaming, "Harpy!"

  11. Warrior

It also has a Sustain bar that's like the celestial meter or Necro's Life Force, which determines how long you can stay in Animal form. They also use the focus in the off hand and conjure Totems to buff their allies and rejuvenate their sustain ability while their in the Totems' radius.

"I just realized something. With the Skyscale, this is an infinite elevator though a slow one. Get to the highest point you can with the skyscale/springer, jump with the springer, Bound of Faith, glide, mount the Skyscale (that's the first mastery and works just like the Griffon). Use your new flight bar to go up, hover until Bound of Faith cools down, repeat. Unless you lose as much or more altitude gliding before you can re-mount, you could go as high as you wanted this way."

    Holy. Moly.

In other MMOs, let's just say WoW for now, but there are numerous others, when you get a flying mount,

    It.Just.Flies.

No gliding, climbing, launching, jumping, etc.

Just.Like.An.Actual.Bird.You know, it just takes off, flies through the sky, and then lands wherever it feels like.Like an actual Eagle, Condor, Robin, Wren, Starling, Crow, or

    Pterodactyl.

What gives?Flight by bird-like beings has been around for Billions of Years.

    Why complicate it so much?

What EXACTLY is the point with flying mounts GW2 wants to make SO COMPLICATED???

    Here's why.

1] Even birds can't fly forever. They get tired and land on stuff.2] Birds fly long distances in flocks and GW2 doesn't have a flock system.

  13. Ok... I never played with Revenant but it seems from reading the posts that there are some clear ideas that would make people appreciate this class a lot more.1) Allow for players to activate/deactivate legendary stances and legend swap, F1 and F2 respectively. There fore, when a legend is not active, players have access to utility skills they can pick from.2) Allow only the legendary stances to rely on Energy., not the weapon skills3) Each profession has about 27 slotted skills prior the elite specs, where as Rev has 20. Also, ever other elite spec adds six new slotted skills, while Rev adds 5. These 7 missing skills, plus the racial skills and elite specs skill should be a slotted skill when a legend is not active.4) The Elite Prof. Mechanics could be F3 for Herald and F3, F4, & F5 for Renegade.5) The legendary stances would become deactivated when not in combat, but players still commune with one of the two legends and swap legends even when deactivated.6) Non-Legendary skills will not use energy, will not have any upkeep skills, may be inspired by a legend, but tends to be more of a generic power from the mist.7) Activating/Deactivating and Swapping Legends while active shares the same cool down, though there is no cool down for legend swapping when legends are deactivated.8) Deactivated Slotted skills will consist of 1 Healing, 1 Elite, and 5 Utility skills to start, adding a new utility skill for each elite spec.

I think this, aside from balancing issues, is all people are asking for and it seem to be still fitting with the concept of the profession.

  14. I'm really looking forward to Main hand Focus being the next weapon for the next elite. I think that'll be cool with having a 5th Element prof. mech., like Arcane Magic or even something similar. The skill type could be Mantras or something new.

If not main hand Focus, I would like to see off hand Scepter with Traps or Wells, and a prof. mech. that changes you to an elemental Avatar
