So I went and checked out the high judge fights you mentioned and I pretty easily solo'd all 3. Yeah there was a bit of cc but nothing too unmanageable.

Several of his mobs have instant stuns, one of his moves is a hammer upswing, with no que, its instant, its one of his stand attacks, it throws you into the air, and then across the room. That's just one fight, the game is littered with fights like that.
First, that "tank build = aggro" is nonsense.

All anyone has to do is try the High Judge Ejele fight without making a group ahead of time. Basic fight. Basic event. its near impossible due to CC. Most the high judge fights are. At one point, they were fine. because 500 people were running around the map. Now, they are nightmares. There are many spots in the game like that.-

maguuma/blackgate have always artificially lowered the populations of the servers they are facing. against them people would rather transfer than play that week and it gets worse if you're stuck in the same tier as one or both of them for multiple weeks. it's not even a numbers problem (at least for maguuma) because when maguuma was t4 people would still refuse to play against them
also, population is determined by how active your server is relative to the most active server (in this case it's almost certainly maguuma). blackgate is the only other server with comparable activity to maguuma but throughout the years they've been thoroughly whipped by mag to the point that the entire server just gives up before the match even starts leaving the 3rd t1 server out to dry

So anet was lazy to properly make a gen3 set with unique weapons, fine. Then they promise to make the variants cheap, which would've been fair. But they are way too overpriced.

It's like 400g and a couple of hours at most to get. Seems fast and cheap to me.

also there is a gvg inhouse discord that is active, these multiaccounters definitely already do fight amongst themselves. however drivers are not always available and sometimes the times for these inhouses are too early for some people (most happen around 7 est) in order to not conflict with guild raids

So I logged on this morning on the NA servers (10 AM eastern meta) and clicked the first squad I saw in lfg. Another easy clear with 4 minutes left on the timer. The squad didn't even have a commander until someone volunteered to tag up and sort people. I streamed the entire thing to show you there wasn't any "hidden private squad" carrying us. And it wasn't good rng either, she swapped sides a lot during 80-60% and 60-40%. I haven't failed this meta in over 30 attempts since March.

False. Yesterday I joined a squad in lfg 5 minutes before the meta started. The commander randomly chucked people into subs based on what he thought were quickness and alac builds. We cleared with 5 minutes left on the timer. This is the log: https://dps.report/KtoE-20221222-124614_de
You can see that boon uptime isn't great and the majority of it was generated by the protocols. We still easily cleared.

When indo and his gang were linked with vip i think someone in his guild said in team chat "spam 1 if vip is trash" and a ton of people started spamming 1 so vip got pretty kitten about it

I never used the GS at the Ranger, or as a Warrior, so I thought Ranger's moveset contained the twirl. TBF; not knowing the moveset meant it could have contained the Thriller dance, and I would not have known the difference.
So he probably hit me with Fan of Fire, but it just looked like a vomit of arrows that I associated with Rapid Shot.
Either way; having 24k DPS seems...absurd. Moreso when I could not do a fraction of a fraction of that damage with my entire weapon skillset.
greatsword 3 does do a lot of damage, but generally people don't run a longbow combined with a greatsword on warrior because the longbow is primarily a condi weapon and greatsword power. are u sure u are not misremembering something

rapid fire is a longbow skill and is 1500 range, and the fact that you didn't know that even though you supposedly played ranger pretty much answers why you get blasted instantly when you step into wvw: you don't have enough game knowledge to play the pvp modes yet

no, omniblobbing is a way of life there, blackgate will do it regardless of what their opposition does, just like how mag will cloud no matter what

Maguuma only has a big NA population, and even then, they only queue EB and one borderland at most during primetime. The EB queue is usually in the 30-40s but the borderland queue is in the single digits.
Blackgate has a more evenly distributed spread of population, with decent numbers throughout the entire day, but I'm pretty sure the only time they queue a map is when the rawr omni boonblob is online.
The only reason why these two servers seem like they have significantly more population is because there's always a portion of the wvw community on the third t1 server that straight up won't log in to play against Mag or BG, let alone both of them together.
Also, in EU, historically the unlinked servers have always sat in the lowest tier (t5). This suggests that any two linked servers will always have more population than a single server.

I was also on last night, and I can tell you for at least an hour on green borderlands, all three sides had roughly equal numbers. Mag had two 20-25 guilds online, BG had the rawr omniblob, and ebay had BADA + pugs (at least 50 of them). The only problem is that BADA are just a small step up in skill compared to beginner ai bots so they just got farmed on repeat whenever they came close to mag or bg. ebay does have less coverage throughout the day compared to mag or bg but it's not like they're significantly outnumbered. they're in fact ticking the highest right now

well that wouldn't work because the dismount skill does damage and puts you both into combat
i'm all for op's idea if we make the dismount skill unavoidable. i.e. i press warclaw 4 on you and you are off your mount and in combat
