Where did that bundle of positivity when I played with you in EXG go?I can't bring myself to drop Lhylyth, she's been my girl from the very beginning.Honestly? I lost all faith and positivity in ele when Meteor Shower and Lava Font got nerfed to the ground. It all started going wrong from that point onwards.
Take Obsidian Flesh, for example. It was once a very crucial skill used to survive tough situations, but now look at it. You're locked out of other skills while using it, plus, it wont even activate over other skills in use. It doesn't take priority or anything. It's just a shadow of its former self, which is a big shame, really. Don't even get me started on stupid trait changes, either.
Sub par damage, sub par skills and sub par support. I'm done with it.

And it added already +2sec to field field, there is no improvement this side, actually you lost your "lesser lava font" that lasted for 8seconds and pulse more damage than lava font.Yea they really must buff back Meteor and lavafont damage. We didn't need this change in Fire traits. We needed a buff on the staff skills and damage itself. Not via screwing over the fire traits the way they did. The downstate lavafont removal has ruined open world PVE for me. When I said that persisting flames is better, I meant its current form seems more useful to than Puissance for WvW. Not that the changes itself were better. They've completely ignore what was asked (like staff buffs, arcane line work) No one even asked for these reworks. Yet here we are...So true. Since all these nerfs happened, I switched to support scrapper full-time for WvW. Only a madman/woman would torture themselves on ele nowadays, be it damage or support. There's no point in playing a class which receives little to no love in comparison to the others. Waste of time, in my opinion. Just forget ele exists and find enjoyment in something else.

Why are we still torturing ourselves by playing this dead class?

Remove arcdps to fix the problem

Same here.
Edit: removing arcdps fixes the problem

I tried it in the PvP arena and it's okay there, not so much for ranked.

@Pocky.3159 said:So new player here; just gonna say its so disappointing to have to learn solo Condi Weaver, only for its whole rhythm to get thrown off for a nerf to 1% of players in the raid community thinking its burning is too strong.
I was actually hoping that balance changes might've meant that some other forms of the Elementalist kit were being made more viable (power/etc.), but from reading this, and seeing other players experiences with the game so far I can see the nerf hammer and patches are what we're supposed to get used to. lol
Think I'm gonna take a break from the game, which is a shame, since I just got back in.
Sorry, friend.

But what was his build? Earth arcane tempest? Anyone run a similar tempest build which is not fresh air and works? Thanks everyone.Which server was that person from, and which guild? Perhaps it was me :smiley:The guild was [Doju] if I don't remember wrong. I am in Underworld paired with Far Shiverpeaks now. it was past week skirmish I think. But your build is pure condi? He was using hybrid if not wrong triple signet with the signet trait that signets keeps their passives after being used.Using dagger-focus and not much else informations.Yeah, I am pure condi. That guy is not me, but the build is basically the same according to your description. I don't use triple signets anymore, only two.
I play on Whiteside Ridge.

@Zhaid Zhem.6508 said:Why my meteors do 6k when Lich form spam 1 does 8k to 5 targets ?
Because the devs don't play Elementalist, or rather, they don't like the class full stop. If they did play it, they would see that our damage is below average. And I'm being really generous when I say that.

That would be a nice change. Increase the damage, too!

Elementalist will remain dead once again. Nice.

For me, the Resistance is a big problem. They pump it out like it's nothing.

Whenever you have time, farm some kills and get stacks, then switch back to your regular set. Your condition damage will increase. That thumbnail gave me a mini heart attack lol. good stuffHaha, it's from a Korean manhwa (webtoon) called Solo Leveling. If you're into that stuff, you should check it out. It's one of the best.

Evade skills can help with that, but if your skill is on cooldown because of Chill... god bless lol.

Make it one long duration, not reapply after it's been cleansed. How is one long duration a balance solution when a single cleanse can hard counter it? Long durations are only truly viable in PvE against NPCs that never cleanse. Duration increase in WvW is for capitalizing on opponent's mistakes and only needs a little longer duration to do.It's one of the single most powerful condi in the game, it stops you dead in your tracks and prevents you from dodging and basically guarantees you die in a team fight because you're stuck. The single most powerful condi in the game is burning. It does the highest amount of condi damage and doesn't require anyone capitalizing on it to get someone down.Aside from that, if someone isn't familiar with the counters this game has to immobilize, that's on them. So many movement skills explicitly ignore or remove immob even with cover condis. It's silly to say immob is a guaranteed death with all the options that exist. And your response doesn't really answer my question. Replacing a pulsing immob with one long duration isn't balance. No balance is achieved by going too far in a nerf. Doing so just makes something else op.If you think the only thing that makes a condi powerful is damage, then you must think Weakness is a pretty weak condi. Oh wait, it can neuter power builds to a ridiculous degree. Immobilize is a utility condi that pretty much assures your attacks will land, and as I said, it prevents dodging. So yes, it's one of the single most powerful condi in the game, it just doesn't to damage. Here's the thing, when you counter immobilize by cleaning, which is what the overwhelming majority of classes do, it just gets reapplied for no reason and wastes the cleanse, which is ridiculous considering what the condi does. Even skills that remove immoblize specifically can't do a thing once they're used and immoblize gets reapplied, which is the whole problem here. It's silly to think that being immobilized for even a split second isn't pretty much a free kill in a group fight. Why do you think Arcane burst ele's exist on support builds? Is it because of the damage? No it's for the immobilize spam that pretty much means GG for anyone that gets hit by it because now you can't dodge out of the bombs. The moment you go 'Nerfing this will just make something else OP!' is when you admit what you're defending is busted but you still want to defend it. Something else becoming OP after this is nerfed is entirely irrelevant. 'Buff my class and nerf everyone else!'If we're going down that route, then Chill is the worst of them all. I would rather get immobilised than get chilled after losing boons etc.

Everyone goes through their cooldowns multiple times over. For the majority of the fight the weaver was above 75% health too. /shrugRight. Exactly my point. He's not difficult to beat. He's just playing an annoyingly OP build. I would've won easily if not for immobs lol.I'm not even in this little debate for the ego, I don't care if he would've outplayed me regardless because some players can, it's just pretty clear that he won because of a gimmicky build that is overpowered.BRUHHahahaha

We have now spent our time discussing completely irrelevant things, like how good/bad I am at the game because you just couldn't handle my (valid) comment. Thank you, great contribution to the thread!
Are you done crying? Please exit the thread if you just came here to troll.edit: rofl, do you know this guy has me blocked in-game already? On both accounts. That's actually hilarious. Awwww! I'm sorry :'DPretty clear why he's giving me a hard time lmao, he's mad. That's a big yikes from me.

@"mikdepadua.8376" said:Update. After learning the game a bit more. taking your comments into consideration, and playing around in WvW,
I've come up with this Hybrid Tempest Roamer for solo roaming that's pretty quick on its feet. I find that as a tempest i really wanted run speed (both to escape and to stay on targets while overloading). I would appreciate comments. As a hybrid, I aimed for 2000 power, 1000 condi damage, and 600 healing power. I also put in a bit of expertise to increase burning duration.
Offensively, I usually alternate between fire and earth, using the usual combos then overloading them almost on cooldown if possible. I stick to enemies like glue because of the stability and swiftness Harmonius Conduit gives. Doom Sigil also works well because of the damage it does, heal reduction, and as an additional condition.
Condi removal comes from Smothering Auras, sigil of cleansing, and cleansing water. Since im mostly solo/duo, I dont use shouts that much so I'm using the good cantrips that work well with Soothing Disruption + Cleansing Water.
It's dagger/x with the offhand being whatever I prefer. I think every off-hand has its uses. Dagger is probably my preference though.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PGlAgijFYL2m5hj80VbD-zVZYKhVFEvZ0gGKjITgeLA7mFOHrA-w
I would appreciate comments on how to improve the playstyle. I'm pretty keen on being a hybrid build since it seems to make sense as most of my damaging skill on fire and earth both deal power/condi damage. Thank you!

You're an ele. You don't need Antitoxin to fight condi players xD
Earth Line... Let's talk about it.
in Elementalist
Posted
Earth traits are in need of a buff. We should at least be able to access Poison/Torment somehow since Bleeding is 100% related to it, in-game and in real life (infections). The PvE/Competitive Bleeding nerf to Strength of Stone was not needed at all, and neither was the 3-second cooldown per target. I mean, how often does the average Elementalist go out of their way to immobilise people? I get that there is a meme build dedicated in doing such a thing, but it's not game-breaking, is it?
I'm fine with the current Earth Grandmaster traits, but when it comes to Master, I don't feel the same way. Is Rock Solid used much? It just seems a little lacklustre, to be honest. It might be advantageous for Weavers, but not so much for Tempests who rely on Earth Overloads, or Core specs who have to wait for the attunement to recharge to activate it.
I have an idea I'd like to share regarding Written in Stone. It comes from a historical trait which once used to be in Fire. Here's the link below.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fire%27s_Embrace
What I have in mind is to add this old trait onto Written in Stone. Signets are rarely used in today's meta. The only people who do use them offensively are Condition Tempests like myself and a handful of Condition Weavers. Adding this historical Fire trait onto WiS will be unbelievably beneficial to our gameplay and will also add to our build diversity.
Another idea is to remove the Fire Aura it provides and replace it with Poison or Torment. I know there would a lot of people that would enjoy that a lot. And I've just remembered something as I'm writing this: Warrior has access to Torment on off-hand sword, yet we get nothing of the sort. Where is the logic in that?
