  1. I've experienced a significant increase in lag and "boon blobs" since the beta started. The beta is honestly a downgrade from what we had before...
  2. I only WvW in EBG and I really only go there to kill people. I don't really care who owns what, as long as there are other players to fight. So in that regard, I treat it more like a deathmatch where the primary objective is to kill the other players. It's what I prefer to do in these mmo's. I also like the way that once I get into EBG, I don't have to sit in a queue again for the rest of time I'm playing. I actually haven't even stepped foot in arena PvP in over 3 years due to the queues and the lack of a deathmatch option.
  3. "Design a new EB" Yeah I've been doing 100% of my WvW in EBG for years now. If they turned the alpine and desert bl maps into EBG clones, that'd be pretty cool - I wouldn't have to sit in EBG queue.
  4. Honestly they never should have kept the desert map to begin with. I avoid it like the plague.
  5. I will restate exactly what I said before: "It's better to have the option to play it than not. If you don't want to play it, you don't have to." It's not even about that as it's about pulling content away from festivals because someone wants one aspect of it to be permanent. They then fail to realize that the number of players who would play it would fade over time making it unplayable at certain hours if at all. Making this permanent would also set the precedent for other players to demand other activities from festivals to be made permanent. If they get their way too then everyone will be left with festivals that are essentially meaningless. Meaningless being content that you could already do throughout the year. The number of players who play any game or component of a game typically fades with time. That's not unusual. I think there would be enough players who would play snowball mayhem long-term to sustain it - especially with a reward track or something similar to what they provide WvW and arena PvP. I understand your second point, but at the same time, they do not have to use the exact same content for a festival every single year. While I certainly wouldn't complain if wintersday became permanent content, Anet could certainly make a single feature of a festival permanent (e.g., snowball mayhem), and add in a single new activity in its place the following year. Having that single feature that players really enjoy become permanent content would go a long way when it comes to retaining those players, and the addition of a single new activity the following year may help to keep those who enjoy variety interested in the game.
  6. The problem is that there are people, such as myself, who are bored with the rest of GW2 and would like these activities to be permanent in order to keep us playing the game. People won't necessarily take something they enjoy for granted and lose interest in it; they are more likely to continue to engage in it because it's enjoyable for them. I've enjoyed fighting other players in mmo's for over 18 years; I haven't "taken it for granted" or "lost interest" in it. It was enjoyable for me over 18 years ago and it's enjoyable for me today. Without such combat I wouldn't be playing mmo's. It's precisely what keeps me playing them. Having snowball mayhem be a permanent feature would go a long way to keeping me and others who enjoy it playing GW2 for years to come.
  7. I will restate exactly what I said before: "It's better to have the option to play it than not. If you don't want to play it, you don't have to."
  8. I'd still have fun with it regardless, to be honest. WvW and arena PvP are permanent content and people still enjoy them. I'm the same way with snowball mayhem. I actually have more fun in snowball mayhem than I do in WvW. It would end up like all of the activities. It's better to have the option to play it than not. If you don't want to play it, you don't have to. And the majority of the player base probably wouldn't play it either to the point that you wouldn't have a two full teams and may even run into situations where you're the only one there. Seasonal content should remain as such. Not if they provide an incentive to play it. They could give it a reward track just like they do for WvW and arena pvp. I'd play it year-round, and I know there are others like me that would as well. So now they have to make it permanent AND add an incentive for players to play it? What do you think they do to encourage players to play the rest of the game??? Why do so many people do the wintersday jumping puzzle over and over? They incentivized people to play it with a 12-present-per-run reward. If they did something as simple as provided more presents for playing Snowball Mayhem during wintersday, even more people would play it. It's not rocket science. I'd play snowball mayhem year-round without -any- incentive, but there's nothing wrong with having a reward track for it similar to WvW or arena PvP. At the end of the day it's about providing options for players who enjoy different parts of the game. Providing options allows mmo companies to maintain their playerbase. If players aren't having as much fun with the rest of the game as they do with wintersday, then it's probably something they should look at. And the JP is an annual activity. How many players do you think would play snowball mayhem continually outside of Wintersday?Enough players would play it to make it worthwhile, especially if it included a reward track or other incentive comparable to WvW or arena PvP.

  13. Where's the wintersday extension? Wintersday is too short!!
  14. Dear Anet Staff, You honestly did a better job with the Wintersday event than you did with the rest of Guild Wars 2. I honestly wouldn't mind having Wintersday in DR be permanent, but as I know that won't happen, it would be nice if Snowball Mayhem could be available throughout the rest of the year. I prefer a Snowball Mayhem 'deathmatch' versus capture the present, but I'd also take Snowball Mayhem as it is now as well. Alternatively, you could extend the Wintersday event another few months, maybe half the year? Thanks, Hildace
