  1. I was told to copy this here from another thread, so I will follow this advice: I am often lieutenant in a large open world squad. We have mainly random people in the squad and often they don't know how a squad works. There are a few suggestions I have to improve how squads work, because there are a few problems we encounter very often. 1) option to make cancelling invites only available to commander and lieutenantsUnfortunately when people in the squad see the picture of an invited person under the squad interface and read 'pending invite' they very often press the cancel button because they just don't know what it means. Most of the time they think they themselves are invited to a different squad and as they don't want a different squad they just press 'cancel'. Others just tell me they have a small screen and wanted to get rid of the large picture of the invited player. Often the only way to stop them from cancelling invites is kicking them from the squad, which I would really like to avoid. Some also cancel invites when they in fact want to leave the squad themselves (they seem to think it's the exit button). It would be so much better if there would be an option for the commander to just make it unable for people to touch the 'cancel invites button' at all. I also never understand why the chat message for cencelled invites says 'kicked' or 'voted to kick' because they were not even in the squad yet so nobody was kicked. When several invites are cancelled it gives the impression the comm/lieutenants kicked half the squad which is not very helpful as it gives a very unfirendly impression. 2) option to make calling targets only available to commander and lieutenantsPeople love calling targets but unfortunately they often call the wrong ones and that pulls the whole squad to a wrong direction or too far ahead. Therefore downed players often get left behind and everything ends in chaos. It would be great if there would be a way to stop people from doing that because many don't react to chat. It isn't even possible to click on the name in the target message to whisper them directly. Of course this should be only optional so calling is disabled only if needed. 3) make both commanders agree to squad mergesSometimes people merge squads from lfg as a 'joke'. They take let's say a squad from leatherfarm and merge it with an Elonian bounty squad and then quickly leave the squad or just turn off their commander tag. This is very frustrating. The remaining commander has to kick all those who are in the wrong playfield and the kicked people end up without any squad at all and there is no way for anyone to stop people from doing this.
  2. I loved the setting, landscapes, architecture, textures, the atmosphere. I enjoyed seeing all the places from GW1 again. Also like the new Guild Hall. The story was really good but would like it even more if I could play story with friends without troubles. The mounts are amazing and add so much to the game but feel like they should always have been there. I really appreciate that the Mastery Points are actually doable without frustration (unlike the adventures in HoT). The only disappointment for me was too little water at the Elon River and not finding underwater combat there.
  3. I play this game since beta and I don't consider myself to be a particularly bad player and still I was never on a successful raid ever. But the reason for that is in fact not my abilities but completely different things. I was in a guild who successfully did raids but I never was on any of them. I very much dislike the whole bureocracy that has developed around raids. As you need 10 people to do them you are expected to sign up on lists a long time in advance and you have to do trainings and whatnot. I never did that and it may be my own fault, but most of the time I don't really know if I am available on a particular day at a particular time. It really puts me off. I would actually really like to do raids, not for the loot but just for fun and to see the story. I could probably get together 5 guild mates at the same time rather spontanously, but not 10. If we could do it with a lower number of good people or 10 randoms I'd definitely try it. For me it just has to be a thing I can do without too much planning in advance. I'm not against raids being a challange but for me personally the barrier to go on one is just too high. So yes, I would really appreciate an easy mode for raids to make it possible for every interested player to do them without too much fuss.
  4. I have to almost constantly turn down the character model limit and quality to be able to play properly, all other settings seem to have no influence . The game only runs without problems when I am in a rather unpopulated old Tyria zone (Diessa Plateau for instance has great performance). My usual FPS is in the low 20s on newer maps and in cities, rather around 30 on older maps in Tyria. In cities there's a difference between areas with many people (eg LA at the bank) and deserted areas (eg LA at the Tengu gate) What is a big problem for me ist that the Trade Post and things like item previews also don't work. An item preview can take minutes to load, the Trade Post sometimes doesn't load at all. When I try to get my crafting done and buy some missing materials I often can't even type in the amount I want to buy because it lags so badly. I had to move my main crafting char from the Grove to Ebonhawke (where I manage to have 30 FPS, which is a lot for me these days) to be able to do anything at all. In the guild hall for instance the Trade Post loads perfectly, but of course so if I'm really desperate I can make orders there. When Gw2 is running my CPU is almost all the time at 100% as soon as more than about 5 people are around. Performance improved when I installed the game on my SSD , but it's still not really running smoothly at many times and the problem with CPU stayed of course. In the past I could run GW2 in window mode along with Photoshop and a CAD program without issues. Today I'm happy if I can have a browser window to look something up on wiki. (and my computer was upgraded over the time) When did this issue first start? It started at about the time Istan was patched into the game. Has it been consistent across time, or has it become worse lately? Or has it come and gone (been intermittent) over time?My problems got better or worse with every patch. They were very severe earlier this year, then one patch improved everything very much and now it's bad again but not as bad as it once was. I now have small but persistent lags again, a bit like playing with hickups, very annoying when you try to get over a rock and miss all the time.Interstingly it also got worse after I got a new nvidia graphics card because my old ati card died a sudden death. What is your general geographical location?Austria On what game world are you playing?Elona Reach
