  1. Thanks for Isle of Janthir👍
Thanks for grandfathering in our home instances we have worked hard on upgrading to completion. Looking forward to the homestead. 👍
Thanks for adding "Open World" access to RAIDs👍 Here's to hoping the older ones will get added also👍
Thanks for bringing Warclaw skills to PvE👍
Thank for adding a Legendary back item to the wizards vault👍

  2. "The story of these encounters will be accessible in two ways: through a classic 10-player raid instance (our eighth raid), or with large groups in open-world events. The Convergences system will also be extended to the region of Janthir, including Janthir-specific enemies."~Raids and Encounters

So when will previous raids receive access to the open world convergence system also? I know this has been requested for years, ever since the first raid was released. Seems as though there are a number of systems that could be used to finally provide ALL game modes the ability to play the content in the manor they most enjoy. A very unique and genre defining feature. It would do Guild Wars 2 well to maximize this ability, something not all games have.

    Remaining hopeful👍

Another option for you all guys with Alt accounts (me included)....

Park all your Alt accounts at the end of the Kaineng JP for the Jade Runestones.  Login daily, hit F, get a JRS + 5AA.  Should net 18g/account/28 days (at current rate) + 140 AA.  No idea what AA will be worth yet but you'll get 33% of the gold value you were getting, without any effort just from the Runestones.

If you come up with any better options, pop 'em in the chat and we'll see how long it takes Anet to nerf them too!

I don't want hundreds of objectives to earn gold, I'm not in the game for the gold. I'm in it to play and entertain our selves. I want the hundreds of objectives so I DON'T get "board". I also don't agree with their philosophy "we're in it for the long haul" that they put in game goals that take RL weeks, months and years to do (when NOT using $$)  If thye take a year to build 3 maps, story, and other XPac content then but the time they are ready to release another XPac I should just be finishing up ALL the content rewards so that I can use them in the next XPac and enjoy my REWARDS in the new content. Once I have 100% legendary my goals turn to exploration and crafting. There should MASSIVE maps (every map in the game is MASSIVE we only get a portion of them to play in) with tons of areas to find hidden events or story or bosses. There should "Obscure" rewards dropped from a specific baddy hidden high in the skies or down in the depths of the sea or the tops of mountains or floating cities. Nothing like that is going on. I'm fine with repeating content multiple times, it's fun Who else recalls playing SW for 9 MONTHS strait There was and still is SO much potential. But we'll see

If this system is a means of stopping alt-accounts it should have PLENTY of REWARDS to earn FAST enough we don't NEED to resort to a loop hole. Just say'n. And to be honest, I hope it does I hope it is fraught with things that I will enjoy doing again and again and again (each time earning Astral Aclaim) and again

I dont mind if you want an helping hand completing them. Just ask, Ill command a make a squad for you, no requirement ask.

@Julischka Bean.7491 This right here ☝️ is the other kind of players you look for. THAT was the purpose of the mentor apple. To stand out and help other players. But it doesn't show in LFG, so it is not as easy to find helpful players or commanders who are open to not kicking and rather helping. My guild was built on that premise but so many of them did not actually want to so now it's just us few. So If and when because it is highly like there will be a when you need help with things look for apple they should be helpful. It' doesn't hurt to ask in lfg. It' how we completed many things. So don't lose hope, just keep up and ask👌👍

IMO strikes and raids should scale down to party size.

💯agree, I've asked for that in some of the polls I was part of. They should also scale upWhy can't a guild partake of a raid as JUST the guild Instead they must go in groups of only 10. I also asked to have the the first channel of the squad act like the party features do so I can use the cmdr abilities AND bring other players along in story instances AND other content. Another idea I gave was that the CMDR should precede commander chat like MENTOR, but we see how that fared. That was years ago.

I'm really glad you spoke up and I can assure you that you (and all the other solo players) are not forgotten! Solo players will find plenty of objectives in the Wizard's Vault to earn rewards. I think you're going to be very happy with the choices you see next week.

P.S. I bet you're a better player than you think you are. 😉

By "Plenty of Objectives" you bring hope that this will NOT be just a daily earning process but a game play + daily items reward system. I find myself REALLY hoping it's true and puts my other posts to shame. Thank you very much for this insight.
Thank you Julischka for speaking up for others who really do feel similar to you💯👍

I agree I think they are better  than they feel after having achieved ascended level gear. Congrats Julischka👏

...Yes.  A solo player in full ascended.  I admit I am strange, but by golly, I want to play 🙂

100% Agree. The MMO (for those too new to know) was birthed from what was originally Local machine games, then CO-OP games where you could dial in via MODEM to a friends PC and play the same game together against the NPCs. IT WAS A BLAST! Naturally then cam L.A.N. Parties where we would bring our PC's over to friends houses with a HUB and cables and play locally. Naturally this went online.

What am I saying with this? That just because a game allows Massive players to play doesn't mean they ALL want to play together or play the same things or even group up. THAT's what made guild wars 2 SO awesome! Co-Operative play where you needn't be partied with anyone. They come along playing the game and help out. But After O'Brien left that driving game style has been under attack with the "Challenging Content" battle cry and "Group content" chants. So the Solo (Local Game) player where vendors no longer make games for local game play are completely left out. There is a need and Guild Wars 2 filled it. But it's losing large scale adoption.

Hopefully as they say they have learned and are listening and we should see some more movement toward the Solo / Co-Op game style players. But only time will tell.

  8. Please excuse the repetitiveness but Google, Duck Duck  nor en-forum.guildwars provided links to this query. If this is a previous question please link the response and delete this post.

How often do the "objectives" refresh? If I complete one does it auto-fill with a new one to complete? Will I get a new one after completing one or will I have to wait on a reset or timer/time-gating?

i was able to log in to my main account and my second account but was not able to log in to my third account and now the only one i can log into is my main account can't get into my second or third account and i can't log into my areananet account

Well other than having to go over some settings and the repair tool crashing everything seems to be working normally.

Try deleting %appdata%\Guild Wars 2\Local.dat (this will reset your remembered login, graphics, sound and cache).

Thanks for the reply and possible solution. However that did not resolve the issue. Still getting:
    Build: 147095
    Error Code: 42:1001:9001:4457

Still unable to log in, after trying to run a repair the repair crashed on me twice. So still a no go no access, still crashing exe and tools apparently! Need more viewers to post how their situation is. Or I guess it's ticket time.

  11. This is just a guess here, but it appears to be a terminal services client log in. Judging from the way we are able to select an instance to join. That also allows for next to limitless connections while sticking with hardware would limit it to 250. So my thought is that one of the servers just needs a reset and everything should be back to normal. At least when I ran a Terminal services server our biggest issue was log ins. a quick rest and boom al good.

    Again just a guess.

After all clearly the web server is running on a different log in server our we wouldn't be here either.

Map chat was reporting log in errors popping up and that rewards were not being given at the end of an event in Dragon Bash, according to my wife, so I'm sure they are looking into it.

  12. For the last 20 minutes now I have been unable to log in to guild wars 2. I can successfully log in to guild wars (1). After three attempts to log in the login exe crashes. If I try an alternate account the same thing happens. My wife was already logged into guild wars 2. She remains logged in. One of our other two can get logged in but the other one has the same problem I am having. We are getting both Server and password errors, our credentials are set to remember.

    Build: 147095
    error: 11:1000:7006:1262
    And
    Error Code: 42:1001:9001:4457

For those thinking it no I've not had any account issues by Anet as the last email I received from them was "WvW and fractals and dragon bashing–oh my!"

    Any ETA?

It’s far, far, far too early to get an answer to that. We don’t even have a title yet let alone know if there will be different versions and extras like slots and boosts.

No it's not! They have a standard "Expansion" system of items included with expansions: Compare
What isn't on that list is items for near Max Level accounts (have max number of characters slots, 71 level 80 characters). I'd like to see more "Your Choice" Gem store/Black Lion gift items included with my purchase. Instead of 4000 gems toss in two or three "Your Choice" Gem store/Black Lion selection gift! 3 for ultimate, 2 for deluxe, and 1 for standard plus what they would normally include.

The problem is, this isn't the first time ANet has promised to deliver or focus on other game modes in tandem with LW/expansion release only to not do it, or do it once and drop it entirely after

Exactly! I think they should have, by now, ended their "Exploring" phase of what they can do with the code and game and should have a VERY good idea of what they SHOULD be doing!  This "we’ve put a renewed emphasis on developing Guild Wars 2 with a player-centric approach" statement in different forms keeps coming around. I just hope they do actually return to the original Manifesto put out by Mike O'Brian

The question is are they going to "STICK WITH IT"!?  What they have laid out CAN WORK !

  15. I can see paying $103.96 ($25.99 one for each of us) per year. But if they are going to produce more each year, they need to make $$$, then I don't really see that as being sustainable for us. $25.99 is a fare price IMHO for 3 maps (two at the start, one later), some story, and repeatable content (events, meta, Champs). "New Rewards" not so much once my legendary collections is complete there isn't much left in the game to do except my favorite part: Map exploration & Completion, Events, Champs, World Bosses, Meta Events, and Festivals.

For many the game is still JUST a GAME and not a second of even first job! A form of Entertainment. When it becomes WORK then we will find other forms of "Entertainment". "Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience or gives pleasure and delight." When that no longer applies it's time to go. Keep the "Challenges" in the areas that WANT THEM, Strikes with challenge motes active, Fractals with challenge motes active / T4, RAIDs (if those are still a thing?) with challenge motes active. PvE doesn't want to just #1 that's true, but you know the level players want. Stop trying to change players and embrace them. In other words make that first run/instance PvE level and the more difficult/"meta" style play for the "Challenge Motes"! After all The name says it!

I'd also like to see this included:

We all want to see ANet thrive as a company.  It is wise for ANet to continue earning and keeping GW/GW2 player trust, which can be done by using a player-centric philosophy:

    • We need to be assured the money we pay for these mini expansions is being used for that purpose, first and foremost.
    • Responsibly budget funding for new projects without sacrificing your current product.  We will cheer your successes!
    • While planning new expansion (+ releases), include something new for all modes - PvE, PvP, and WvW.
    • Recognize elites AND casuals (and everyone between) ARE your player base.
    • Make all items able to be earned in each mode, rather than having to mix and mingle modes.  Let us "play the way we want to play".
    • Use the forum, surveys, and beta tests to increase communication and buy-in.

GW2 Beta testing with the blue pop-up mini questionnaires were so much fun and made me feel like part of the community!  How about offering a Pre-Purchase option that would include:

    1) beta access for 1 to 2 weeks, with zero progress retained,

    2) ending with a player feedback survey for each content type tested, which

    3) rewards 3 Black Lion/Gem Store items of the player's choice AND a special Title which refers to beta testing and adds tiers with each pre-purchase/beta survey.

I think the biggest mistake from the post  was lack of information regarding price point and planned frequency of Release/Expansion cycle. Given that those have been very unstable over the years from 3 week releases to a year long drought. More precise information would have helped keep things less dramatic.
