  1. I find Specter rather delightful to play. Never tried the other especs, my first attempt being the specter. I find myself quite resilient, only in risk of dying with too many tough mobs. Which should change once ive made my celestial build.

5 stacks, "Interval: 1 per sec"

My best advice is to try it somewhere safe (training golem or just fighting some easy enemies), watch the stacks a few times, and get a counting rhythm. I usually just go "1… 2… 3… 4… 5…" and then I can pop it for max effect.

    thank you

There's a little-known option that can help you:

But, generally, the way to play Specter in PvE is to use Consume Shadows to apply group-wide Barrier + Rot Wallow Venom stacks and otherwise not really sweat your party healing. (You can also "precast" some Rot Wallow Venom by hitting people with your scepter while they're standing around between phases or waiting for the ready check, &c.)

I know theres keybinds to target allies, but I dont find it efficient to do.  Ive been using consume shadows to pour it out.

I know it says that it depends on stacks, but its not easy to see the buff icon. How long does it take to stack up? Also, does amount of shadow force left have any influence on the healed amount?

  4. Incase you guys didnt notice it:

Changes to the final encounter in the Battle for the Jade Sea meta-event:

    • Decreased the frequency of the boss's tail phase so that its presence is less likely to overlap with an active defiance bar.
    • The Exposed effect will now apply to both the tail and the head if the boss's defiance bar is broken while the tail phase is active.
    • If the tail is defeated while the boss has the Exposed effect on its head, the Exposed effect's duration will be extended to compensate for the need to respond to its tail and head simultaneously.

Note: These changes are now active. A new game build is not required for them to take effect.

  5. Still new to spectre. But do you use your wells on cd to keep up alacrity? Using ritualist stats with plate of benedict eggs.

I know you should deplete initiative with twilight combo before entering shroud. But how long should you stay in shroud? I asume you should avoid capping out on initiative as its wasted, plus you get some from quick pockets. when leaving shroud. So it wouldnt really be a lot of time spent there.

And with consume shadows. Do your amount of shadow remaining and drained as you leave shroud, have any influence the heal you cause?

As I've already said in other threads, the turtle is nothing more than the equivalent of yet another toy and that's exactly how I'm using it -as a toy whenever I feel like it, which is not exactly a lot. Too bad some people are too preoccupied with screaming "i want it NOW!" to understand that, so after they finally get the turtle it's somehow a big surprise that it didn't suddenly change their gameplay into something entirely new.

Reminds of the Skyscale. People qqing and calling it useless, and taken utterly by suprise that a skyscale with unleveled masteries was the same as the borrowable skyscale. Save not disappearing on dismount.

And i agree with that, but having in mind that those situations can only exist for level 80 content and that you can't have them for every level 80 meta while also considering that the turtle itself is unlocked on the last map of the expansion and it was intially designed to be the big reward from the ultimate meta. By this i mean that is the kind of thing that will probably have more situations tailored for it when they create new content knowing that most participants will have the turtle unlocked.

And given the number of turtles that will usually be present, I also question the existence of the chip that adds +20% damage to the turtle's cannons.    Why is it there? Considering the limited need for siege damage currently, it makes no real difference if it takes a couple extra minutes to finish.

nope complete utter sack of garbo mount [even with all its masteries done]  i did meta to get it [before any changes]  and that lame collection i usually avoid strikes but it made me do it lmao not worth it. Now if we get a super adventure skin i might use it to afk in but that's it.

the final turtle mastery adds health to all your other mounts.

My class is a guardian, not a siege turtle. So i fully understand that a combat mount is less effective to play the game than my class. I call it common sense, no need for in-game descriptions to be written by a lawyer.

And just to be clear, you'll never see me blaming anyone for using the turtle whenever they want, have fun with it! but don't expect a mount to be competitive against someone playing their class, even playing their class badly.

I think the gist is that there is not enough places requiring siege damage to make the turtle feel remotely useful.
