  1. This is as old as the game; why hasn't it been fixed yet?!? Just killed the boss at Blackhold Mine Camp in Harathi Highlands and stuck in combat. Killed all the Tamini around... still stuck in combat. Killed the Barracudas, still stuck in combat - this utter kittening kitten has been going on so long the kittening boss has respawned... but stiull stuck in kittening combat.... Seriously, how hard is it to program a condition that says you haven't been hit by anyone for 20seconds nor have you struck anyone in the same period - you are no longer in combat! It happens for NPCs if they can't hit you, why the serious kittening hell does it not kittening work with the player too?!? Given the bugs with outnumbered in WVW not giving the rewards it should as well, how about fixing the current issues before introducing anymore?!?

Yes there are the ones abusing the obvious hacks, some using more subtle hacks (permanent crits etc) but there are also the ones who spend the whole time using macros to stay active by running into walls - you see the same offenders repeatedly and they are preventing other players from benefitting from outnumbered boosts and also causing maps to be full stopping legitimate players participating? Anet says it will dedicate resources to WvW but they are not addressing the existing issues and the last time WvW got a significant update (ignoring the Edge of the Mists drivel) they scrapped the existing Borderlands that people liked and replaced them with the crappy desert ones that are too large and a pain in the kitten to navigate. And now we are getting alliances... I play predominantly on a PUG server/time zone combination and I loathe the guild meta - stand in aoes clumped up because ANet nerfed aoes, about a year after launch, to only affect a limited number of targets in the area whilst group heals and buffs can effectively ignore the damage and, with no friendly fire so you can charge into the area that you are nuking, the whole experience is crap. I can't help thinking that this update is going to be utter shite!
  3. For what little it is worth: I am generally positive about them. Happy to see that Anet is trying to do something about the stuck-in-combat issue although I hope that they haven't just limited their work in this area to just condis. About a year after launch I had an issue where I was stuck in combat, running at a snail's pace, on one of the wvw maps for over half an hour - I had to logout and back in to resolve it. More recently I have had other issues where the game has decided I am still in combat with nearby enemies even if I have killed everything I can see. You can move a shortish distance away and it will remove it but that is not alway possible - on the Desert Highlands map I was stuck in combat in one of the underground ruins areas in an area where I couldn't reach the enemy, they couldn't reach me and I need a mount in order to get out of... but of course I couldn't mount up - I hope ANet have addressed this as well. Generally happy with the proposed balance changes; particularly: Celestial armour - I have a couple of characters who run celestial ascended armour (so that they can provide support and a bit of damage output as well) and it is a bit underwhelming. I am therefore pleased that the missing stats are now buffed. Mirages - I am glad that they are having some of their nerfs rolled back. I still hope that Anet will give them back their normal endurance bar because it is a bit ridiculous that they are the only profession where they have only a single dodge in WvW. Happy too that retaliation (which is just crap at the moment) is being changed. Pleased to see changes with the mantras as those were just frustrating. Pleased to see changes to the Renegade as it was just playing second fiddle to the Herald. Spellbreakers were hit ridiculously hard with the nerf hammer previously - hopefully this will now be corrected and Anet at least have acknowledged the issue. Chronomancers needed a tweak so I will see how this plays out. Missed opportunities: I wish that Anet had done something about WvW. The current meta is ridiculous. Years ago Anet nerfed aoes as they felt that hitting everyone was OP... we now have the ridiculous situation of mass stacking of players to limit damage absorption (due to the target cap) and mass stacking of buffs. You also cannot charge in amongst the enemies because they drop damage in the centre... this is a joke. IMO there are two solutions - "friendly fire" where both friendly spells/abilities and offensive spells/abilities affect enemies and allies alike (so an enemy charging in when you are buff stacking benefits from the bonuses too or dropping damage affects your allies) or removing the damage limits on aoes so that everyone is hit, forcing groups to spread out more - the latter option would probably necessitate smaller aoe effects for necros and eles etc. WvW has been blighted by hackers recently to the point where I am no longer certain whether some of the enemies I am facing are cheating or not. Some of it is obvious but a few weeks ago I encountered a ranger who unleashed a series of combos where every hit was a critical strike, including from a full barrage burst - I have no idea whether this was legitimate good fortune coupled with skills or not. In the same vein as above there are a number of absolute cunts who are using macros and running into walls to farm contribution points in WvW. These cunts mean that other players sometimes cannot join the maps and legitimate players are being prevented from getting outnumbered buffs etc. They have been reported but Anet's inaction on this is really frustrating as the same offenders keep coming back!

  5. It's when Arenanet takes the Borderlands that everyone likes (the regular winter one) and pulls it entirely dumping three rounds of the truly awful Desert Borderlands on us instead. It ensures that all players migrate to EBG and only tryhards remain in the BLs
  6. Why is this still a thing? You can be stuck unable to change gear, move at reasonable speed or do anything - just had it repeatedly with the Solid Ocean fractal which prevented me from making the jump to the end boss - no enemies were attacking me and as I rely on pets for speed I didn't had the buffs to make the jump (when I am stuck in combat!) Seriously this has been a problem for years, why hasn't it been fixed?!? Soon after launch I was perma bugged with it on a wvw map...
  7. I would say that the state of wvw is pretty dull nowadays. The guild groups stack and wait for cooldowns to recharge and then just all charge together, cast, restack and recharge... its not exactly rocket science and makes the experience pretty dull for everyone concerned. It is a direct response to the limited number of targets that can be hit by aoes - if the max number of targets is 5 and there are 50 in your zerg all bunching together, only another large group can hurt you, otherwise you are pretty much invincible and the whole game is no more than a procession. At launch there was no cap on the number of targets that could be hit by many of the aoes and, whilst it was undoubtedly massively OP, it did rule out such boring and predictable tactics. Personally what I want to see is friendly fire - drop an aoe and if your allies charge into it, they should suffer - unfortunately it would require a full rework of skill lines and I can't see Anet doing that. SImilarly if you drop a healing spell and an enemy charges into it, it makes sense that he should heal as well - the current situation is just pretty shoddy imo.
  8. In game 1 there were a series of PvE only skills which added functionality and flexibility. Personally I think that PvE is easily the weakest area of this game as all the additions are in respect to the Living World tripe which is so painfully awful that I stopped playing for 18months. At the current rate I think I will just uninstall because frankly the whole thing is like an utter cesspool of fatuous and contemptible garbage. I genuinely believe that this game needs updates in the vein of ESO's thieves guild and dark brotherhood where it can truly abandon the holier-than-thou mentality shoved down our throats.   9. Most of it is fine... but they you have the stupid instanced events and missions in the crappy Living World series. I made the mistake of finishing the Kourna / Palawa Joko crap just now and spent the whole time shouting at the screen because it is crap, uses really cheap tactics and is boring as hell.
  10. None of it. Since Kormir stole the player's divinity in Nightfall the entire storylines have sucked arse. This game should be about killing Kormir, not the other shit that it insists on pedalling. Frankly the storylines and characters are shit in this series and the ability to murder NPCs a la ESO is sorely missing.
