  1. People still play dead mode on NA for rating? Wow. This is news.
  2. THIS. I guess shortbow is the only way to dps pvp now for condi. ggs... :')
  3. Ah yes, force us to play scepter as the new angle by making axe and mace completely useless instead of viable. This was a horrible decision for dps condi rev.
  4. Hello, I was playing my herald on short bow in Ashford helping new players do events and also curious about this event myself, I got a dreambound chest from the mist stranger, chose a weapon and equipped to try it out. Upon doing so however, my ascended cele short bow vanished from the game entirely however when I equipped to replace. I still have the viper one in armory/another equip tab with my armor, but I'm making this post as a warning to those who are using weaponmaster and wind up trying these weapons out - please make sure you unequip your current weapon set before equipping the dreambound to avoid losing your item and having to go through ticket submission! I've submitted a ticket for my case and awaiting further assistance from ANet, this is just here to prevent others from getting the same problem until the bug is fixed. This has been reported in-game as well - be careful! I wish ANet the best fixing these issues.
  5. As someone that has frequently used under level 80/new characters, and been able to use weaponmaster just fine before this update, I can definitely assure this is new and doesn't seem intentional as even with this update, the weapon was working just fine until it was randomly unequipped, or manually unequipped. Not to mention, underleveled characters can still equip them in PvP without any problems - the backpack straps can't be equipped by anyone right now, even level 80 characters in the lobby. So yes, this is 100% bugged.
  6. The backpack straps you usually get in the pvp lobby are unable to be equipped by any of my characters, both level 80s and below. Before nov 7 update, we were able to equip and use the elite spec weapons on characters under level 80 and mess with core builds to level and play content normally, provided we own SOTO and have unlocked it in Skywatch. This is currently no longer the case outside of PvP as weapons randomly unequip and cannot be re-equipped without going to PvP lobby and certain PvE maps. Note: THIS ONLY HAPPENS to characters UNDER level 80 right now.
  7. This is most likely what could have happened and probably why he got mad when I didn't want to stick to it, I was actually tired so it shouldn't have been alarming I wouldn't want to stick to doing CMs, and yep! It keeps precious text, just was a weird instance when it happened is all. It would also explain why they were all DPS, still, just baffles me someone is bothered that badly because I couldn't stay, wasn't trying to be mean or anything. Thanks for this! I didn't really think about that as a thing, usually people seem to check lfg descriptions but I usually just host my own LFG for fractals and just felt like seeing what was already up when I did.
  8. Just to clarify, I always read and I am careful about joining groups in LFG, there was no mention of CMs at all, but most of the group just went along with it/complied to try anyways. The problem was that he was being negative about it because people were already leaving and I just wanted to announce I had to go, wasn't trying to be mean but yeah. He should have checked CM in LFG and updated if he needed it. For 2, it just came up in LFG and it was late night, there were 4 in and I was watching LFG as it came up asking for a healer, there were no other healers in the party (as I found out when we went in) - so it was all dps when I swapped, which some groups are known to do, but it wasn't working in that case and nobody was prepared for it. You're all good, I didn't really clarify that in the initial post but I'm experienced with full raid armor sets and while I do enjoy CMs it definitely isn't late at night that I would!
  9. Bit of a soft rant but I was looking through LFG for a pug group for usual T4 dailies, listing wanted a healer which I main. Instead of the daily + rec listing, dude turns on CMs and asks me to play DPS last second. Mmk, team wipes 4 times and my ping is high in that instance, we make it to the final boss of the fractal, wipe 3 times again so I just quietly swap back to heals and bam, clear with no more problems. Everyone else in the group was pretty chill, but presumably the guy making the decisions told me he hates when people join then leave and that he was gonna block me. Cool, understandable, I don't think I want to play with someone I'm forced to carry unannounced surprise CMs at midnight when I just wanted to rush T4 normally before bed who can't look at their own lfg listing. Wound up staying up later and found a better group. I'm just glad the toxic% is low minority because late night pugging is rough enough as it is. Anyway, feel free to post your own rant experiences, just wanted to share this because it was pretty out there from my usual experience doing instanced content in general.
  10. Wanted to update anyone that finds this thread: ANet is aware of this bug and is working to fix it!
  11. OUCH, I remember the Equinox effect change, really wish they could just give us options for older revisions of them, but it's ANet so I get it...
  12. When attempting to use the Cosmic Surfer glider in-game, it doesn't apply the appropriate animation (similar to the shuriken glider) when previewed or in-use, and instead your character falling animation plays in-world (as you're in the air before you glide), while in wardrobe, you just 'stand' on the glider when it's being previewed. Seems like we're piling on records of visual bugs like this with SOTO, really hope it's easy to fix though since this is my favorite glider.
  13. Don't worry, same here - It's a bug - it actually currently doesn't apply an animation and instead just using whatever animation state the character is in before gliding - happening to me too. If you go into wardrobe where it normally previews, instead you 'stand in place' which is what you do in wardrobe even though the glider appears, it isn't set to apply the animation currently, so SOTO just came with a lot of graphical bugs, I reported it in-game and will do so here in forums. I hope it gets fixed soon, because I'm right there with you - it's my favorite glider (it shares the glide animation with the shuriken, but shuri works just fine)
  14. By chair's name changing, he means not in the actual novelty panel, but if you previously set the chilly chaise as your sit which it's been mine on my ele, hovering over it in the little quick novelty selection if it was your active chair, the name shows 'oni lord's throne' but the icon looks like the chilly chaise instead.
  15. Nah they should be able to tell as for those of us who it's missing for, it doesn't even show up when we search it in novelties as an item that hasn't been unlocked. Not to mention, every time an unlock gets applied to your account, they do have a system for tracking that data, same as with tracking trades through in-game mail, etc. - Account unlocks are the easiest progress to track as they've restored another item I'd lost in wardrobe in the past some years ago. If you ever got the drop and sold it, they would know - or if you bought it and activated, etc.
  16. Thanks for the quick support! Looking forward to my ele being able to relax again, you're my hero!
  17. Can confirm, I've had it for months use it specifically for my ele and it's gone, sent a bug report, hope it's fixed soon.
  18. Your solution would kill the game mode more than ANet already has lmao. Nobody cares about the rewards even if you do win a lot of the games, the play is often copium for this dead game mode. You are also asking a lot of NA who plays mostly "for fun", which the game is marketed for. ANet stopped caring about competitive PvP the moment they dropped the eSports scene, don't know what era you're living in but catch up with the rest of us.
  19. There's definitely physics issues that cause people to get stuck and that's more on ANet's side for sure, + clips, though someone abusing them intentionally still in theory is reportable, just no guarantees. Speed/tele hacks definitely still happen in a minority of games as well, people can be very tricky because of stealth not letting us see their initial position, and the amazing lack of awareness of map presence on NA... Definitely not as harmful as crashing players' game clients though, but still pretty ridiculous to see. It's almost akin to AFKers at this point in terms of how severe anet considers it to be.
  20. That's definitely abusing an exploit and oversight in the game's engine. If your client completely locked up but your system was fine and responsive, and the same thing happened to others in the game (especially on your team), + more than once, definitely drop hacking. It uses an exploit in the game client that has gone either un-noticed by anet, or unfixed for a long time. This is exactly what I've experienced in a few games as well over the last few years. It's a minority of games, but it isn't limited to late hours where pvp pop is low and it has happened in both unranked and ranked games. I know a few who were abusing it. The drop hack in itself exploits overloading the main server with a high number of packets. Not exactly sure how they achieve that but it's very clear our game client can't handle it, and in this case and they know how to make it affect whichever targets they want by now given how organized it was during my match. Very likely whoever you met then has been with a minority of people making alts and abusing this in unwatched games.
  21. Just queued a game an hour ago, entire team except myself and the rev on my team dced not once, but multiple times throughout. It looks very clear like targeted hacking because it would have been a balanced game otherwise, added the names of the duo on the enemy team were extremely suspicious, character names "Munchkinator" a vindicator and "Terrorist Tickler", a deadeye. If ANet would like to get involved and contact me privately in-game, discord, or email about the issue, give me the source and I'll give you the evidence. I also took the liberty of blocking so I could get the account names for you to investigate. It's all-too convenient for 3 members on my team to crash twice much less the same teammates having no problems in other games, and there wasn't any "server lag" that I'd noticed, the game played just fine on my part, and the crashes were timed suspiciously where 2 crashed immediately and then a third, and then all 3, etc. It just doesn't seem like a normal server crash or anything relative to "normal" in this event. Pretty ridiculous my duo partner has to deal with a desertion punishment for being voluntarily crashed by the enemy party as well. Too many "unfortunate" acts made the match not only unplayable but unbearable to even bother trying when I looked and saw "Oh, my whole team is disconnected." Honestly feel like it's a stretch even trying to reach out through forum channels given over half of it goes ignored, but I've done email, discord and other attempted requests for contact, so it can't hurt any to make people aware of this issue. If this was just the usual troll, a booster, a throw/afker I wouldn't even bother making a post because we all know how "effectively" they get "punished" but this is extreme. Please fix this unplayable mess. I'd embed screenshot links for anyone curious to see the actual game event but I hardly do forum posts as-is and would need guidance for doing so. Feel free to share your experiences and suspicious games you've noticed here too. Love to read about others' experience and honestly wish more people would speak up when they see this. Hoenstly even the vent makes it feel a little better, but if anet would investigate the issue would be the best.
  22. Virt has been untouched for at least the last two metas. It's their favorite thing to ignore currently. On the other hand, Scrapper really didn't need this as it was already just mid before nerfs, but as usual, only the kitten low golds and silvers complain about get nerfed and the snore builds that are essentially the same thing go untouched or even rise into the 'good enough' category and the cycle repeats itself.
  23. This question sums up just about the same perspective on almost every proposed change. And the answer is: #Muh_Condi and "I don't like axe, I'll just tweak staff instead." But most importantly - "The only philosophy I believe in is standing still and pressing 1!" Remember folks, it's against the 'spirit of the game' to debate the ̶w̶i̶s̶e̶ curious decisions our writers publish for the good health of our community.
