  1. If we're going to ask Anet to remaster a game, I'd rather it be GW 1 to be honest. The fact that GW 2 engine is the same as 1 tells me that 1 could look that much better and feel that much better with smooth animations and controls, not to mention jumping! In an ideal world I'd love both games to be brought up to modern standards of smoothness and beauty, but time doesn't let us live in an ideal world. With limited time I'd rather they reinvigorated the franchise with a Guild Wars 1 remastered edition. That being said, I would not want them to take time away from working on the new expansion for GW2. If we want the expansion and a remastered project done right then they will each need the full attention of the team. Nothing feels worse to the player, in my opinion anyways, than getting a half-ass release on a hyped game. It just ruins the reputation of the game and the company and does more damage than taking the time to do it right the first time. That's my two cents anyways.
  2. I've been trying to pin point something that feels like its missing from the game today in 2020 and I think I finally know. I feel like when I first played the beta for this game there was this underlying feeling of being more than just a game, but also a work of art. I look at the original login screen and there was just something very artistic in its simplicity. This was carried on into the gameplay with the personal story shaping around your character at the start, and even the side view 1 on 1 conversations in the story had an artistic feel to them that has added to my feeling of playing inside an artistic vision and not just a game. The original Lion's Arch design is another area where it felt like more than just a city in a video game; it felt like I was in a moving painting to me. I can't really say the same about Lion's Arch today. While no individual thing going away or changing has been cause for concern, looking back now I really miss the game I played back in 2012. So yeah, I wish this login screen could come back. It wouldn't change much about the game on its own but it would be a start to capturing that feeling I once had when I logged into the beta for the first time.
  3. It doesn't make me mad, per say, but it's not something I like. Ultimately they are a business with costs that need to be paid for somehow, and if you're not cranking out new $60 titles to millions every few years it becomes difficult to pay your employees and keep the servers going for your customers. I will say I think there are a lot of great things to spend gems on in this game, and I don't mind account wide storage upgrades like the bank slots, but per character bag slot extensions is something I dislike. I picked my warrior as my main character when the game came out and upgraded her bag slots, but every other character suffers with the default bags. And I've spent a good amount of money on gems, so not like I'm stingy or anything; like I said there are a lot of compelling items in the gem store that I do buy. I think Anet would be better served making them account wide so customers feel like they are getting better value for their money and thus more likely to spend it, but I'm not their economist.
