  1. If it's true, I hope it works out good. One thing I worry about though that feels very possible, is that GW3 will end up being a mobile game. Mobile is NCSoft's highest earners and their IR presentations are filled with highlights going on about the "conversion of PC to Mobile". Like they even highlight their business strategy as; creating a "Solid foundation built based on PC legacy games with original IPs" and then "Explosive growth achieved by conversion of PC legacy IPs to mobile platform". Here's the IR presentation documents link; https://kr.ncsoft.com/en/ir/irArchive/irPresentation.do
  2. How about a Jade Bot skin that's kinda fiendish? Like a little kryptis/demon/minion/imp? Something that can kinda capture that warlock familiar vibe or necro minion. If you'd like to avoid making new assets for it, maybe consider a miniaturized versions of the Fleshreaver. It's a really cool harpy-like demonic enemy found in both GW1 and GW2, that has some interesting lore, and that players used to be able to summon with the Demon Summoning Sigil before it was changed (loved doing Orr event trains with it and just watching how many I used to be able to summon at once back before it was removed 😆). Would be a neat nod to bring them back as a Jade Bot Skin plus it seems like something that someone looking to make a more evil/sinister-themed character would like. Also Desert Borderlands has the burning Charred Fleshreaver variant too and in GW1 had these really neat Fleashreaver Hounds like a winged demonic looking warg (the latter not being an existing asset in GW2, but figured I'd mention it just cause they looked neat and could also reasonably work as a Jadebot Skin 😆).
  3. Given how awesome the Lunar New Year Dragon Helm has been, what about other helms like that for each of the Spirits of the Wild (Bear, Wolf, Leopard, Raven, and possibly even the Lesser Spirts later on)? Like one thing that's bugged me about Norn is that the Spirit of the Wild forms are an interesting unique cultural aspect for them, but because of balance of the game they aren't worth using (outside of just for fun or very niche circumstances). By introducing helms like the aforementioned one, but of the respective Spirits of the Wild - it could be a neat work around to bringing that cultural aspect of the Norn into normal gameplay while doing so in a purely cosmetic way.
  4. Some more Skiff skin ideas; * Variant of the Risen Dead Ships (ships Risen use made of bone or reinforced out of bones) that appear in a few missions/events of Core GW2. There's a few different designs of them from what I've seen. One is made out of bone that's arranged in a ship like style with bone jutting from the front to form it's bowsprit, there's a version that's basically a beaten up version of the Lion's Arch Galleons but with those giant necrotic fingers jutting out of it and scattered bits of barnacles/tubeworms/coral growing all around it, and (my favorite type) there's a version that's mostly bone but with a big mammoth-like skull installed on the front that kinda dips into the water like a snow plow with it's tusk jutting out of the water. * Zephyrite Sailing Ship with a design inspired off of the Zephyrites air ships. Has a bamboo-like aesthetic to it and uses a basket with those wind aspect crystals in it to provide motion and redirect air currents into the sails. * Maybe for Valentine's Day a 2 seater Swan Skiff paddle boat. * For April Fools Day, how about a Unicorn floaty Skiff with the Anet logo on it's butt like the Dreamer/Unicorn Finisher. When you use your booster to go faster, the valve in the back comes undone and air rapidly shoots out propelling you. xD * A mobile version of the Super Adventure Box Alligators that you use as jumping platforms while you cross the rapids in World 2, or the Raft that you fight the Ninjas on. Also some Chair ideas; * Dolyak Mobile chair. Kinda like the turtle chair except your chilling on top of a Dolyak. Could even add in different variants for like short haired or armored. I've always wanted them as a mount since I saw the enemy ones the Stone Summit rided in GW1. * War Room Table chair. Big round table, has multiple seats, and has a guild emblem emblazoned in the middle of it. * Junundu Wurm Mobile Chair. A callback to GW1 (and that one event in GW2) where you can pilot a Junundu, but without the abilities and doesn't work on sulfur areas(though maybe has a burrow skill like the Arid Devourer tonic just for fun). * Mobile Charr Tankette (basically like a small tank) chair. * Different Mobile Palanquin style Chairs. Could have one with the Golems carrying you around in an Asuran style throne, one with the Jackal Awakened like the Deasert King Throne, and/or one with Choya carrying you around like C3PO with the Ewoks in Star Wars. Or alternatively, the Choya could be carrying your character tied up on a pole like the Han Solo when he was captured by the Ewoks in Star Wars. xD * Dust Mite Twister Chair. Just free floating in a Dust Mite Twister with maybe random things flying all around you also caught up in the twister randomly being seen (chickens, boxes, items, weapons, Skritt, etc).
  5. Some Event Ideas; * Racing Event - Roller Beetle, regular racing events, griffin courses, etc. Maybe giving new versions of racing stuff (scarfs, googles, gloves, or maybe even a mount skin would all be cool). * Guild Mission Event - The guild system is full of so much potential, capitalizing on that even with an event could do absolute wonders for the game all around. Like I know I'm harping on about it, but Guild systems can do so much for engaging people, teaching people, helping to bring people into other areas of the game than they'd usually go for, and just all around making things more fun. So, anything to help boost guild engagement more would be amazing. * Dungeon, Strike, and Raid Event - Maybe you could even take a set of weapons from one of the dungeons/strikes/raids and add in a new variant look to it (different color, effect, or something along those lines) that can drop/be redeemed during the event. You could do what another mmo does and sprinkle in the new variants for a different set each time you bring the event back. For example the first time you run the event it might include purple flame version of Ascalonian Catacombs weapons, then the next event it might be an overgrown looking version of the Twilight Arbor weapons, then the next event it could be a Kryptis infected looking version of Spirit Vale weapons, or so on. * World Boss Rush - Self explanatory. Maybe could have new versions of some of the champ bag weapons. * Events Themed Around Specific Areas - Like an event where you get bonus stuff in like HoT maps, or PoF maps, or Season whatever maps, or Core maps, etc. Just something to bring more life into certain areas even if only for the event. Could give out bonus loot in the area from like mobs/events, increased gathering chance yields, increased xp, and so on. * Bounty Event - The Bounty Boards in like PoF and such, I love the concept of of. I just wish there was more stuff to achieve with them. An event based around them could be great for making them feel more worthwhile to do. * Community Goal Event - Like the community collectively needs to kill x amount of players in wvw/pvp, kill x amount of a certain type of creature, craft x amount of something, complete x amount of events (maybe in a specific map), kill x amount of bosses in strikes/raids/fractals/etc, reach the end of x amount of jps, or so on. There's no limit to the kinda community goal activities it could be and could even have it so there's a goal that needs to be reached in each of the major parts of the game (wvw, pvp, openworld pve, instance pve) so no part of the community is left out.
  6. I hope one of the pistol skills is basically lobbing a Holy Hand Grenade. xD
  7. To me, it feels like relying on only Justice procs is just not sensible enough to make it a true hybrid weapon (especially with the proposed upcoming nerfs). If you're condi, it pushes you into a corner where if you actually activate your class mechanics and have it on cooldown while you're using range, then your ability to apply offensive condis with either scepter or staff (with the exception of sigils/runes/ect) are nullified. This effectively makes any type of condi build on Guard and it's Elite specs feel janky and creates this reliance on damage utilities to fill the gap for damage in fights where you don't have the option to consistently melee. Back until a few years ago you at least had the option to trait into Symbolic Power and be able to turn scepter and staff into a somewhat hybrid weapons with the chance of burning with symbols, but that was removed. I feel like if they were to turn it into a hybrid weapon (like FB axe), then that could preserve it's purpose for power builds while offering condi builds more flexibility in rotations/playstyles. Plus it would give Anet more wiggle room to actually tackle some of the more overperforming condi skills without it absolutely tanking damage during range, and potentially allow for more build experimentation for condi outside of being stuck in Virtues for things like Permeating Wrath and Concencrations.
  8. I'm fine with nerfs to condi/quick condi FB, but I hope they look at maybe adding some offensive condi application to one of Guard's ranged weapons. Like one big issue I've had with FB's (and just other condi Guard build's in general) is that for condi dps from your weapons, you're reliant on Axe/Torch and/or your Justice procs. It hasn't been as much of an issue before because it was able to make up for that by just having so much damage/support/utility/ect going out as well as other means of condi application back in the day (like the old versions of Amplified Wrath allowing you to burn when blocking or Symbolic Power allowing your symbols to burn foes), but with these changes it feels like it's going to make damage rotations feel more clunky and just lead to significant drops in dps every time I need to swap to range. In short, I just want a better kind of build synergy for condi (like Axe and Torch have) from one of Guard's ranged weapons.
  9. Also, here's a few more skiff ideas; * Juvenile/Pygmy Leviathan - Smaller Skiff-sized version of the leviathan where you're riding on it's back while you ride around fishing. Maybe has some kinda platform type thing hooked on it's back like the Siege Turtles to give a nice flat area to fish from, or simply it has smaller back spikes (to flatten it's back somewhat) since it's younger/different species from the normal Adolescent Leviathans we see so far in game. * World Turtle - Skiff-sized sea turtle with possibly some mound of earth and a tree growing on it's back. Could give a nice circular/oval surface to move around and fish from. Maybe it could even have a trail effect where petals/leaves from the tree fly off as you move (with there being different intensity of the petals/leaves falling depending on how fast you're traveling). * Ghost Ship - An ethereal skiff that (depending how it's dyed) could either look like a ghost ship that still lingers after it's captain's untimely end, or maybe a enhanced version of guardian's spirit weapons (which would go aesthetically nice with the Spiritwood fishing rod). * Surf Board - Literally as it sounds, a tiny simple skiff that you can fish from it, it's just smaller so it doesn't have as much surface area. It's real selling point though could be in it's animations. Like when you're just simply moving around, it could make your character look like they're laying down paddling around, then you use the faster speeds it could have your character standing up actually surfing on some small waves, and finally for the superspeed, maybe a full proper wave forms around the board and your character surfs in the barrel (I think it's called the green room, but I'm not 100% sure) of the wave. As to why the waves would be flowing in weird directions in which your character is moving, maybe the lore of it could be that the board has some type of Water Djinn enchantment that allows the board to waterbend the water around it and alter it's flow to propel it where and how the rider wants it to go.
  10. Given how cool the Street Noodles Chair is, what about a skiff skin with a similar premise. Like maybe a skiff based off the floating food market boats around the world, or maybe something like Mr. Kim's Lunch Boat/Ship from Fifth Element with chairs you can sit in around the food/counter that you can eat and chill at while other people fish beside you. Some pics for reference; Floating Food Market in Damnoen Saduak, Thailand Mr. Kim's Boat from Fifth Element
  11. What about some mount skins where the mount is multi headed? For example: * Two-Headed Siege Turtle * Hydra Skycale * Cerberus Jackal or possibly Warclaw * Chimera Griffin Feel like it could be a good foundation to even be expanded on in the future with new interesting variants. Like different elemental variants/combos of the Hydra Skyscale, different types of animal heads for the Chimera Griffin, different canine interpretations of Cerberus (multi headed Hound of Balthazar style Cerberus and multi headed Shiba Inu Cerberus xD), and so on.
  12. What about a Charr (maybe Iron Legion) Skiff skin themed after military airboats/hovercrafts/landing boats? Design-wise it feels like it would be on brand for Charr given the loud, mechanical, and militaristic nature of them. Plus, lore-wise it feels like it would be very fitting too since Charr have a lot of land vehicles (armored cars, armored motorcycles, etc) that they could use such a boat to ferry them across lakes, which would also probably need to be able to get up on shore fast cause of the abundance of branded fish and other such hostile aquatic creatures. Here's some pics for reference; https://images04.military.com/sites/default/files/media/equipment/ships-and-submarines/landing-craft-air-cushion/2014/02/landing-craft-air-cushion-lcac-01.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/PACV_SK-5_Monster.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a2/MIKE_Force_Aircat.jpg
  13. Not sure if this would fall under Skyscale design or not, but might as well ask. During the Skyscale Collection, you have various ways to interact with your Skyscale. Feeding it, soothing it with music, playing little mini games like fetch or hide-n-seek, and so on. By chance have you given any consideration into maybe adding all your character's mounts to their Home Instance (or maybe whatever the current mount you have slotted is at the time of entering the instance) and giving players similar way's to interact with them if they wanted to?
  14. I would love to see more Dreadnought skins (or just armored mount skins in general) for the rest of the mounts (especially with the addition of the Skyscale). To me it just makes the Raptor look more combat ready (my mental image is of fully armored mounted cavalry) and the bulkiness helps make it appear more proportional for large Charr/Norn players. Plus they can be appealing skins for people that want something a little more varied than the slight feature changes but not something like extremely glowy. Also bonus points if you were able to make like an Dreadnought/armored Warclaw skin with Guild Emblems like the artist Wes Sly designed a few months back.
  15. One thing I would be interested in, is an option in the Total Makeover Kits for hornless/polled Charr. While there is the option for the horns that look like they've been filed down and capped (it's the picture on the middle right), there's no really true hornless option. I think this could be nice for a more drastic look change, open up more options to people who don't like horns clipping through certain helms (or have a horn helm they want to use but clashes with the Charr's horns), and there's some interesting ilr justification to back it. Edit; Also it might give a dev some nice setup assets if they ever wanted to do a little nod to Dragon Age's Qunari and their Hornless/Ben-Hassrath. xD
  16. I really don't understand this view point. What do you think link servers are? They're asked to change servers every two months, their name mostly irrelevant. Exactly.World linking is a problem. The alliance-free for all model, will only amplify the downsides of world linking. One of the main issues with RvR in GW2 and why it never became as engaging as it could be is the absence offactions and consolidated worlds on one hand, and a meaningless campaign on the other. In the end, after a few months of the new system being in place,we will end up with the same issues.Players not being able to play with their friends because alliances just like servers will be consisted of a finite amountof players, guilds bandwagoning the more powerful alliances, unofficial multi alliance alliances and the inevitable match manipulation. And the same campaign.Too much effort for nothing.WvW will become like EotM was before the loot there got nerfed.People trying to get into a server together have a better chance to do that in an alliance type setup than a server one. Alliances may consist of a finite amount of player spaces, but so do servers. The only difference is a server can be locked for literally years if it's population is active enough while the roster of players in an alliance can change every 8 weeks. As for the EotM comparison, I think you're blowing things a little far out of proportion. EotM is set in a megaserver style system. Every time you enter and leave you have a chance of being thrown on a completely different instance and after a mere 4 hours everything resets. In the Alliance system you'll be on that same world/server instance you've been in every time you enter WvW for the duration of what sounds like 2 months. The people you're in an alliance with you'll still be fighting alongside after the 2 month reset unless they chose to mark a different WvW guild that's not part of that alliance prior to the reset. Beyond that there's also some of the other differences that differentiate EotM like the inability to upgrade, special abilities that make some things very easy to ktrain, the map layout, etc.
  17. Regardless of if this will work or not (though I will say that I do really like what I've read so far), I'm glad something's being done. Better to try something and it not work then just continue sitting in this stagnation and watch WvW die off more and more.
