  1. What do you all challenge haters pretend of this game? To be a walk in the park? Do you want anet to turn mobs into freaking paintings? Havn't you had enough with core tyria beeing so freaking easy? do you want mobs to become static with no attack or interaction whatsoever? This is the mentality that drove anet to the mess they are in now, with no clear direction and all sort of players leaving, first they lost almost all pvpers, now they are loosing hardcore pvers, soon they will only have open world bots running around playing for a few months and quitting out of boredom, and all of the ones playing fashion wars standing still in the bank... its pretty easy: we liked core, and thats what we want MORE of...not something ENTIRELY DIFFERENTquitting the game AFTER you played it, out of BOREDOM, is still better than quitting BEFORE the endif you made a meal for all you friends, and they all put down the fork after one bite, it prolly wasnt that greatbut if they clear the table in record time, and ask for MORE, then it has the quality, that people wil PAY forSo you are actually saying you would eat a plain cheese burger every single day just beacause it's easy to cook? Plus, if the content is challenging, wouldn't it meant people will repeat it? What happened that made players clear tables in record time and then just stop playing? Was it too braindead to even play again maybe? ... Isn't it better for anet to deliver repeatable content so they can take more time to produce the next patch? It's amusing how you can stand by a product that's actually sinking in quality as if it is something good, but meh, this is what's left of the real mmorpg communities I guess.
  2. You said earlier that casuals don't pay for this game so this is a weird statement. they HAD millions, but not anymore. out of 5 mio sold boxes, 3½-4 mio went to casuals. . thats over 150 MIO $ pretty much from start.those 150 mio is the major reason for the easiness of core. they wanted those money, but they didnt want to make more content for the casuals.that is why we are here now Source? You posted numerous times your claims about sales but I've never seen anything that verifies them. There is a confusion and debate on this thread alone on what the word "casual" even mean, I'm sure the data you have will not only clearly state your numbers, but also provide an accurate definition of the word "casual" that is accepted by everyone. go to any mmo and find a super easy mission with a good reward. its gonna cramped with players there.now go to the endgame zones with all the HARDCORE content, and see if you can find even a handful of players.fast and easy sells, slow and hard not so much. Ok well thought, how about this one, go to any mmo, find a super easy mission with a good reward, and try to calculate how much premium items this people are wearing, now go to a endgame super hardcore content and do it again...If you really belive what's important of this type of games is to just sell copies like if it was a singleplayer game, then you are pretty naive, I mean, there's a reason even singleplayers started to build DLC, and cosmetic crap....
  3. Actually, a good ele, who took the time to learn his skills, rotations, etc. Would tell you it's not hard at all, it just takes time and practice, maybe what is pissing you off, is not the difficulty of the mission, but maybe tryharding a game that wasn't design for customers like you.. who won't take the time to learn but still want to go through all the content like if it's just taking the trash out.People want gw2 to be like the next fall guys, a game that everyone can pick up and play, but even if this game is heavily casual friendly, at the end it's core design is the same as in any other mmorpg, a game about progression, time, knowledge, dedication, and such. What do you all challenge haters pretend of this game? To be a walk in the park? Do you want anet to turn mobs into freaking paintings? Havn't you had enough with core tyria beeing so freaking easy? do you want mobs to become static with no attack or interaction whatsoever? We want more HoT. No they really don't, i talk to guildies daily and frustration is big in hot and lesser so pof.. Its a large aspect of why so many leave or take breaks.. Enjoyable content you can go through is fun, content that continually bashes you until you quit isn't (thats actually called bully mechanics). Well based on your first few sentences on this same comment, i'd say not you or any of your guildmates can be taken seriously, or used to represent all of the community, and the same goes for the first guy who said that about average players, I know people who hated it, I know people who loved it, I myself wanted more and more of that style of content because if I wanted a dumb braindead game i'd be playing an android mmorpg, but well.. pof was luckluster to say the least so that was it for me.Leave that to pvp or raids.
  4. and if it isnt, then there wont be millions of casuals to pay for THE GAME. wildstar showed us where THAT ends.they simply never had the money to optimize the game, game, so the hardcore content never got to work right.in the end, the hardcores left too, since the hardcore content really NEEDS to work perfectlya good mmo is a like a pyramid...for every one at the top, there are 100s at the bottompretty much like a REAL society A good game is one where you cant lose or have to learn when i came to this game, i couldnt dodge AT ALL. i suck at platforming , and i really HATE it.but i still completed vezirs tower. no portal. took my almost a day of cursing, but i DID it. And that's the actual reward you are supposed to get from this game, the sense of acomplishment, of being able to overcome obstacles, and learn through frustration, same as in pvp when you face that beast of your guild who just wipes the floor with everyone else, but after thousands of duels you manage to win a few. Yet today gamers are so lame, they just want the shiny piece of crap or title you get after you've completed something big, they want it so hard they are willing to pay real money for it, just to show it of, even if they couldn't even win it on easy mode or by cheating. Those who won't enjoy even the easiest challenge, (let's face it, this game as it is, is no more than a walk on the park for someone with a learning mentality) but won't pay for the skip either, they come here to cry the game is too hard, but what's actually happening is they don't want to learn.

  6. Eh. I doubt, with his mindset and approach, summit would have stuck around even in a different meta. I just don't think he likes the genre in general, and GW2 in particular (which is perfectly fine, they're not for everyone). His complaints amounted to "why can't my halfassedly built rifle warrior contest points?!?!", which is like someone who brings their rusted out station wagon to a drag race and complains that they can't win. If he cared at all about doing GW2 pvp, he'd at least learn a better warrior build, or figure out some other way to handle the aoes. I, for one, found it highly embarrassing how hyped the community got about some streamer who really doesn't care for our type of game. It was pretty obvious he wasn't going to stick around, at least to me. As for the aoe meta, I'm not a fan myself, but that's also why I only do unranked. There are still plenty of circles there, but at least it's less dominated by the same small number of builds. Dude, why? What steers gw2 players to keep making excuses to defend this game? It's so hard to accept our beloved game is trashed? If summit doesn't like mmorpg, why is he trying out absolutely every one out there? And why is he still actively playing Elder scrolls online on off stream hours? And even pvping there? Because he's a variety streamer, who -I guess- pretty much never played mmorpgs? So he's curious and tries out one after another and quits all of them within 1-2 weeks when the absolutely initial novelty of them passes? My point is clear, he enjoys mmorpgs other wise he wouldn't be playing some off stream, when nobody is paying him to play. So that invalidates your "variety streamer" point. wow, the first online game with meta builds and comps. Some things are more optimal than other in a comepetitive environment, what a surprise! :o Seriously, not sure what point you were trying to make by writing this.Idk what is your point with that last sentence about games and meta builds comps, when what we are discussing is the quality of this game's current meta design, not the existance...Seriously, not sure what point you were trying to make by writing this.....

And why is he still actively playing Elder scrolls online on off stream hours? And even pvping there?Yes at first he was playing a meme roleplay build, and just having fun, that brief time playing on low tier motivated him to activate expansions, claim spellbreaker builds, and try to get as close as meta as possible without quiting the class he enjoyed to just join the braindead aoe spam meta train. He even watched the hole teapot video about combat basics on stream to learn what he was doing wrong. As soon as he fought silver or gold players using those stupid builds he quitted the game, before that he was having a blast, and he actually stated that all the passive interactions between aoe's, unfair or cheesy passives, break out of jail unnecessary skills (holo's specially) and the fact that everyone he met was using either a perma stealth build or an inmortal bunker build forced him to quit the game. And I know that not only because he said it himself (he was even starting to doubt about quitting ESO to play gw2)but because when he came back and I saw the low tier pvp matches, I was encouraged to go back and try out this "balance patch" everyone was talking about, the only difference is my character always landed in plat 2, so I couldn't even enjoy that unranked phase were people play just for fun.I got in, played like no more than 5 matches, encountered nothing more than perma stealth thieves, condi spammers, bunker spammers, went to wvw, every one using the most cheesy stupid risk free build, the ones that let you just run away every single time you kitten up something, and uninstalled again. We have to face it, the game forces you to make a choice, die in silver playing what you enjoy, or join the freaking braindead train grab a meta bunk spammer build and hit your keyboard with your face as hard as you can every single match while staying on a node basically botting... EDIT1: well.. i was actually that bored, here watch this video, he litterally complains about endless aoes on the first 5 seconds...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_UYblolaS8 EDIT2: You said it yourself, if skill mattered then chaith would be able to kill you with a scrapper build, yet that's not the case, unless he runs holo meta build, ofc you need to know how to press buttons and move to still be effective on a meta build, but it would be insane to argue that today's meta builds are harder to master than the ones we got in last expansion or even core gw2, the skill cap is insanely lower, and on equal skill level builds define every single fight. Dude, summit is a total cringelord when it comes to providing criticism. I wouldn't take anything he says as valid. I came to gw2 from ESO (cuz trash game) and he QQ'ed that game as well, because he couldn't git gud and 1vx people like those of us who were playing the game for years. His last video was just whining, whining and more whining about the game, while he was running into 4v1 and complaining why he died so easily. Literally what he said: "untill someone tells me how it is possible this guy is doing massive damage while mitigating all my damage, I'm calling bs". It's just the typical forumtard/zergling mantra and shows his mentality of "If I can't do it, it is impossible". He is the kind of guy that asks for a youtubers build, and expects to be good within a week. Of course he doesn't, but blames almost every failure on the game in stead of looking at his own mistakes. He is also extremely presumptuous about game mechanics and disregards things that people tell him just because he thinks he knows better. He expects instant gratification and thats just not how mmo's usually work. Also, BIG LOL at the people calling gw2 trash. Do yourself a favor and visit ESO. You will come back here crying in a heartbeat, feeling stupid about what you said.I went to ESO after 5 years playing gw2. I came back a week ago just to try out the new balance changes, and couldn't last longer than a few hours in wvw with my friends, and 3 or 4 pvp matches, what they have done to this game is disastrous, it was the most unenjoyable experience i've had in all my years playing, and I feel even with the lag, and the few balance issues, ESO combat design, and classes/skills design overall is in a much better place than here in gw2, specially cyrdoiil, I feel they nailed it with that map, if they could only fix performance the game would be the best for open world pvpers. It's not that this game is trash, but if you compare each meta from core to here, this one is the worst, and brought back some of the worst build designs, and cheesy mechanics back, so most players just quit until a new balance patch comes up, which takes like 2 years for anet to do so..

  9. Haven't you paid attention to anet designs philosphy since the past 2 years? They clearly want to avoid players dying as much as they can, because a game where no one dies, is a game where everyone wins! Yay so much fun anet i just had to uninstall your game because it was excesively fun!
  10. How much more do you need to turn around and hit someone who is likely right behind you or within a cone of where their ground marker for stealth was if they're ranged? I'll take the tells from stealth in and stealth out over most others in the game, especially since they have to come out of stealth to do anything that I can't clear or break right away. Stealth doesn't need better counters, it needs people to quit acting like stealth comes with a force field or like they can't land anything on them between blinks. A lot of thieves are pretty much supercharged npcs but the good and really annoying ones would probably frustrate you on other professions, they probably read you before you know they're scoping you out. I got tuned up by another thief this weekend with no more stealth or better tools than I had, he was just better but more importantly he just read me too well and I reacted more instead of staying calm and reading what he was plotting correctly. @kash.9213 said: How much more do you need to turn around and hit someone who is likely right behind you or within a cone of where their ground marker for stealth was if they're ranged? Just for fun, whatclass do you play? I would love to know that to understand better your personal perspective.
  11. "I disagree with what you say so i'll just treat you like an fool who shouldn't be taken seriously plz anet don't nerf stealth" Isn't this what you meant to say?
  12. Oh yeah, that deadeye skill, well, the whole deadeye design is the most stupid thing i've seen in all my years playing this game, what I never understood is why damage doesn't reveal opponents like in elder scrolls online, and why only few classes got a reveal skill.Plus reveal skills were good back then when stealth was short, and you got tells to track the stealthed enemy, now people start stacking stealth from the spawn you have to actually guess where tf they are standing to actually reveal them.
  13. "If you are skilled you know you have to run away from anyone using stealth because there is actually almost none effective counterplay" Do you really think thats a viable answer? Do you remember what games are supposed to be about?Plus, stealth might been a staple, but I remember that staple, and it was all about quick combos, stacking stealth and having like no more than 5 to 8 seconds of stealth, so you had to quickly think your next move. The insane amount of stealth some classes can stack, the perma stealth trash builds, the stealth rework to engis that completely ruined any sort of zerg vs zerg interaction, that's not a staple, it's actually against the core philosophy of the game, yet it's still here..
  14. Except "meta" is in no way a uniform concept. What works in gold 1 does not necessarily work in plat 2. It also depends a lot on group comp. If everyone else in a game is running random builds, there's no guarantee your meta build will dominate them. Often the meta is defined by what can counter your build and there exist hard counters to current meta builds that don't typically see play because they are not particularly effective in the overall meta. There is a ton of room to play the way you want to play, particularly if you aren't playing at the highest levels. In this game that doesn't apply, broken builds are just broken, when skilled players grab those builds they ruin pvp for everyone who reaches past gold 2 from gold 2 to silver 1 all players just copy paste those builds and somehow climb, and the only players who play this game for fun and for choices, are stuck below silver 1 with meme builds they create, summit1g exposed this by trying the game a few weeks ago, the first 20 matches he had a great time, as soon as he was stuck in a match with somewhat decent players using those stupid builds it was all over for him, he left so fast anet couldn't even reach the patron stuff for him. And not because he was beeing mauled by more skilled players, he left because he quickly realized he had no future in this game because he wouldn't enjoy playing those annoying aoe builds.
  15. Actually a quick +1 with a mobile class can set up your teammate up to impact the game hugely better. Pretty carryable. OH yeah super fun, an mmo where you have to wait for a friend to aid you just to win a freaking 1v1, which is no longer considered a 1v1.It gets specially fun and interactive when your opponent has enough sustain to outrun you and your ganking friend so nobody dies, yay anet! So much fun, combat with no consequences.
