  1. Well. After playing all those betas there were 4 elite specs that i'm goinf with with EoD:

    -Harbringer, Bladeworn, Catalyst and Mehanist.

I am very disappointed with Catalyst. And frankly, as I said since the start, I would have preferred an elemental shooter with longbow or rifle to shoot and do massive artistic animations and explosions. I can't tell if those fixes will make catalyst better, but a lot of skills animation are reused from already existing specs, very obvious, and well, it feels so slow, non damaging, noneffective that even my weaver can do better. So for this one can't really tell until next week.

Harbringer? Well i personally like the fact of ground targeted elixirs skills, because, well, if you take palawadan, the alchemist are throwing potions like grenades, they aren't like, alcoholic that keep sipping a vine bottle. So yes, good change, will see for blight change, but blight is an interesting mechanic, just need to be implemented correctly..

Bladeworn? Well will play it. It feels so like a bomber holosmith in my point of view, it is dynamic, good looking skills. Will see next week too.

Finally Mechanist. The resummon cooldown change is apreciated, the fixes of responsiveness of the mech related to command skills are interesting. Will see for the decrease of mech health if is too much or not. But really, i didn't see it in the fixes, but mechanist should be able to have toolbelt, really needed because mchanist without mech is hard. Plus, like said, there should be more synergy with kits, other weapons of engineer. Traits for mech and mechanist but also affect others engie weapons an tools giving them bonuses. Ans that is a thing totally absent of your fixes patch.

What I told new in the new kainerg thread hmm?

The video literally starts with jade "it powers the canthan empire" two sec later we see jade mech sentries like in echovald forest so maybe jade brotherhood. 0:30 of video? Jade pipe like rata novan circuitry with ley line.

    0:32? They have FORCE FIELDS.

Giant machine that look like a drill excavating.

What we saw at the end of video? BOOM jade maw from fractal.

WHO WAS RIGHT HMM? I Said that jade maw fractal were in canthan jade quarry.

Are there still peoples thinking cantha is still old , traditionnal and not high tech? HMMMMMM?

None of what we see really shows any indication of Aetherblade technology. It's all jade tech, absolutely zero air/lightning magic being utilized.

Besides, it's very, very unlikely that ArenaNet well apply a barely fleshed out side story that doesn't even have achievements tied to it into the main plot.

But we know where those steam creatures come from. The asura PC from the future. In other words, they're fully Tyrian, not Canthan.

And then ArenaNet went and retconned it so that Scarlet invented them and sent them to Lornar's.

So unless they're retconning the steam creature origins again, the steam creatures have nothing to do with Cantha.

By that argument, then all necromancy is tied to jade magic. Dhuum is Jade magic. Mordremoth is jade magic.

Green is just an archetypal color for plant magic, and ties it to Scarlet. Similar to how Kralkatorrik/Branded and Abaddon/Margonites are both purple but hold zero relation.

    So.......

We have known fact, firstly the trailer:

    https://imgur.com/6OOHl16

It shows aetherblade flag and mai trin.  But, well it is a trailer right? So how to be sure about aetherblade tech in cantha?

I will start correcting you on an important point, Aetherblade IS NOT air and lighting magic. It is ASURA MAGITECH more precisely INQUEST. Those pirates/corsairs keep their steampunk uniform to reflect their identity, they are called since the first release "Pirate of the skies" but notice that when they attacked Lion's arch for first time they used asura arcano pulse or lightning cannon /modules to shoot in addition of cannon ball and destroy building and using a spark teleport device to go on ground for some of them, same as used in personal story by teyo with her teleportation turret.

Those sky pirates uses asura tech everywhere: As holo dancers projectors, for consoles, to sterilize and build golem (see frizz lab), to put red holo panes on airships, to teleport around, to create static shield, force field and so on: Their light arcs and strikes aren't magic, they use gadgets and devices to make them.

Well, if you doubt that they use asura aethero modulesor lighting cannons as cannon in adddition of regular cannons, I send you to captain mai trin boss fractal , her airship is equiped by one:

On that picture, look at the right, an asura lightning cannon, just like the ones defending rata primus.

But to return to subject of aetherblade in new kainerg and cantha:

    https://imgur.com/VdfduQa

This image is an art/screenshot of Cantha areas shown during EOD first look stream. At the right I've put aetherblade fractal.

SURPRISE! It is the same!!! So aetherblade in cnatha, you can even see some inquest tech on the eod stream screenshots/arts.

Well, still skeptical, thinking anyone, can by itself, make pipes and pump purified liquid jade within them? Here you go:

    https://imgur.com/emiVqR1

What is in common in this four pictures? I tell you, PIPES and NEONS LINES. What else in common? Those FOUR PLACES feature more or less INQUEST TECH.  Yeah you can tell me "Gandara, Joko could surely make those plague beakers and pipes itself?", well then tell me, why joko waited to turn into zombie half of the personnel of rata primus and brought several with him in gandara?

All the aetherblade related locations we saw so far share that austere brown/green teints with pipes everywhere.

For steam creatures, after re reading the wiki, yes it does states that scarlet made them with scrap metal so i'm wrong on that speculation, but I attire you attention to the fact "She didn't need them anymore after being affected by mordremoth whispers". So why making them before? But well, as you said maybe anet already forgotten about that.

"By that argument, then all necromancy is tied to jade magic. Dhuum is Jade magic. Mordremoth is jade magic."

I am in no way saying so. Jade is "confirmed " here with the trailer. It is jade, like the mech of mechanist has jade. Scarlet twisted minions emanate green energy, see the marionette, it was NEVER STATED what energy they use. Can be anything, even jade. Or it is to reinforce the fact it is an unknown powerful energy source? Who knows. But again, maybe far fetched?

But I tell you with 100% confidence that cantha Aetherblades are AS MUCH, IF MORE advanced than LS1 Aetherblades.

No doubt Joon can be a great inventor/engineer, but aetherblade have something to do with that story. I put my hand to cut.

At this point, wouldn't even surprised to see airships in kainerg like that person shown on reddit:

  4. The fact that aetherblade are in cantha, itself speak about mists. Since last time mai trin were shown was in the mist. All the flotilla of aetherblade airships is equiped with mist rift opener device? Kind of a big deal if the case.

Thanks to recent story, we saw jormag, kralkatorrik and aurene opening mist portals to teleport themselves or their armies around, so ability of creating a rift is draconic magic/ability. So, it can be turned into a device to do the same thing.

The big jump in technology could be tied to mist travel and aetherblade.

We know mai trin escaped to the edge of the mist after escaping prison.

Fractals of the mist trin tell us that the mist shows the past , the present or the future.

They could even link aetherblades with auris weirdbringer: we still don't know when he got its aetherblade uniform, between grothmar and field of ruin appearance but we don't know more.

I'm 100% sure that scarlet didn't only saw mordremoth in omadd machine but also the deep sea dragon and cantha. While her mission was to awake mordremoth, she gave the mission to mai trin to go to cantha. Cantha of the past. And that is mist rift stabilizer storyline.

Remember that sentence: the big events who affected tyria also affected cantha . Sure, zhaithan flooding, mordremoth ... death of balthazar..... but also bloodstone explosion and bloodstone incursion rifts.

Call it far fetched, but, the infinity sphere storyline, with us leading an army of steam creatures... I call out that those steam creatures were prototype and come from cantha. First attempts at jade technology. But then, they god perfectionned and led to things like mechanist mechs.

From wiki: steam creature appeared in lornar, wants to extend their territory for unknown reasons.

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Steam_creature

Those first attempt of using jade being to wild and making crazy agressive constructs, canthan threw them in a mist portal set to a random location, ended being lornar pass. Scarlet noticed the jade energy in them and created twisted clockworks with it. (Notice the green sparks in twisted clockwork creatures).

Before ls1, scarlet already sent an agent to cantha to study jade technology. That agent is the character we see in the trailer as joone. The progress of jade technology worked, and the agent asked to be joined by someone from modern times: mai trin.

Auris weirdbringer is in fact a very high ranked aetherblade that was in charge of time/mist travel. Whereas for some agents it worked, auris ended stuck in loop and appear at several places in same time, all part of its timeline, so possible to see him in cantha.

So yeah hard to think about it, but someone, who already experienced all the events we faced, went to the past in cantha, to tell them what will happens, that the advancrment in technology is needed and that cantha have to become more technology advanced to protect their elder dragon. What the point of the deep sea dragon, you will tell me? Scarlet knew she would be killed by the commander. And that eventually mordremoth will be killed, but, she bet on jade power and one last dragon to stop us.

What if you could create a tome machine powered by jade that would allow to bring all the elder dragons back to life?

This us the ultimate failsafe plan, you rewind time, hoping to prevent thd person that destroyed your plan.

Maybe the deep sea dragon has more knowledge than others too, we will see.

The jade tech expansion in cantha isn't natural just after a miner found jade. Someone, who knows about draconic magics or elder dragons  went to cantha.

Not a lot of candidate: Durmand priory? Inquest? Scarlet? Or a dragon itself.

Sure we can think that one day an engineer saw the use, but imho, with the help of zephyrite or asura .

I still bet 100% that jade technology in new kainerg and cantha is due to aetherblade and deep sea dragon.

  5. Well.

We had shing jea stream in which we literally see:

-Floating platform to carry crate reminding asura cart but jade version.

    -Jade technology waypoint

    -Furtively a golem silhouette

    Then, we had the specialisations:

-Catalyst which has a floating jade metal sphere that seems to project holograms of creatures

-Bladeworn: they fused a karana with a pistol

-Mechanist and their high tech golem

We have after that the website and trailer:

-Yao with prosthetic with parts that floats but somehow still work together: superconductivity?

-Yao background that look like a microchip green circuitry.

-An aetherblade jade rafinery (that surely contains inquest tech, thanks to an art shown during the timer bedore first look stream start)

-Arts that remind of aetherblade fractals, with wooden scafolding and asura tech.

    -Aetherblade flag.

-News artworks, with most of them, neons or jade lights on them.

Why do you think new kainerg is the last on stream schedule? Because gw2 kainerg isn't like gw1 kainerg. It is impossible to think that the city still look like a slum. It will be modern, like our real life tokyo. Neons melted with chinese architecture.

You saw the jade mech, you saw artworks. They didn't made them for nothing.

JADE - IS - NEW KAINERG - POWER - SOURCE

What is not understood in that sentence?

JADE powers their WAYPOINTS, it powers their LIGHTPOSTS, their HOUSES , their SIGNS AND NEONS.

  6. I request Anet to have those two mastery lines in core tyria to spend the remaining points:

    1-Unlocking Challenge mode in DUNGEONS.

YEAH, you read it well. How to revitilize old dungeon and make them attractive? Challenge mode. Bosses tougher too with a bounty like ley line ability.

Would makes the foes have more boons, more defiance bars, able to call reinforcement.

Having the complete mastery line allow players to earn ascended box, weapons and trinklets once completing an exploration path with CM active, also, in normal exploration paths (without cm active), once finished, some champions spawn around and can be killed for additional tokens.

The second one is PVE REWARD TRACKS mastery.

No more doing world boss for nothing, going after pact scouting materials every day or farming silverwastes or dragon stand in loop!

Select the reward track to earn the reward YOU WANT, by doing what YOU WANT, WHEN YOU WANT. Need T6 materials? Earn them while doing your daily diessa plateau events! Need some karma? Earn some additionnal jugs while participating in tarir octovine! You want a cultural armor piece? Earn it by completing a reward track! Need some leggies mats like some obsidian or clover, I got you covered!

Need a map currency but no way losing a week or a month here? Earn that currency while doing your world bosses.

I really think those two masteries line would be big quality of life improvements. It will makes old dungeons even more fun and challenging. Also, since we can already earn map currencies, legendaries materials or dungeon tokens with pvp or wvw reward tracks by simply keeping killing peoples or capturing place in loop, why a pve players couldn't do the same? The only difference is that in pve we hit npcs instead of players!! But we do exactly the same with same amount of efforts!

There are too many masteries points in our mastery tab that are still unused. Do something, please.

I hope you're wrong about Cantha being "High-Tech", not interested in a Asian-Cyberpunk setting in GW (or any Cyberpunk for that matter).  More than a few people that recently have been bringing up the 250 year time difference between the two games seem to think that GW1 was set in the 1700s or something.

On the contrary, I hope new kainerg will be high tech jade punk and neons while its sewer/underground system is filled with pipes, machinery and aetherblade. Definitely expect that after the neons artworks we had. If new kainerg is rustic and traditional, I ask for a refund . I purchased eod because of jade tech aetherblades in the trailers and those artworks.

Shing jea, echovald, jade sea, tradituonal, like in gw1 if you want  but nah, high tech new kainerg.

It is called new kainerg, it makes thinking about New york or New lumos in miitopia: skycrappers neon cities, metal dystopian modern  skyscrapper everywhere.

Anet wouldn't have bothered with those noce looking neons, jade tech pillars and temple covered of pipes if it is not a majority of the map.

  8. Well i tested the specs some times around the maps. Feels good. I like it so far, will trade my soul-beast for that one definitely. I feel strong, the mechanic/ concept of corrupted/unleashed pet/ranger is cool, i like utilities and the hammer feels fluid and fun. Good job, especially for hammer as weapon, feels very good and nicely executed.

  9. So. Was hyped for this specialization. Really. Big disappointment.

I feel like all my utilities skills are wasted and useless. They do ~0 damages I tried engaging a karka in southsun with as entrance the utilities wells, it is like i did nothing. You should boost wells (utilities) damage by a lot.

    Currently: 0 - 266 - 62 -399. Can definitely be more like 340 - 700 - 420 - 800 no joke.

The specialization feels strong but only when in Shadow shroud. And i feel like shadow shroud is so hard to fill, that it kills the fluidity and fun of the specialization! See necro, their life force increase rapidly with each attack, here definitely too slow!

The initiative mechanic also feels so useless!!!! Can't anything be done? I don't understand that there is no skills that allow consuming initiatives to generate shadow/life force!

    Here is the fact:

I enter fight, i use all wells + weapon skills and it fills not even 1/5 of my life force / shadow force bar!!!

The skill that fill the most that bar is "SIPHON" aka toolbelt left skill with hand spitting wind icon. And you did what? You ruined that skill by putting an abusive long cooldown on it! 11 seconds! 11!!!!! Since the scepter skills are  also weak (160- 282 -161 damages) the foe have time to kill me one million time!

    Very stinky bad implementation!!!

TLDR:  1/Makes well do way more damages.  2/Increase scepter skills damages. 3/Increase shadow/life force given by using utilities wells and weapon skills. 4/Decrease Siphon cooldown.

The only thing that is already fine and need 0 fix is the shadow shroud. But useless if you can't evne have the life force to use it!

  10. Hello, here are the bugs of my favourite specialization so far:

1-When performing mech command skills (the F1-2-3) sometimes the mech is stuck in the animation and keeps its arms toward the sky, or keep its arms rotating around it.... instead of returning into normal idle/walking animation state.

2-The mech name is RESET when changing specialization traits or after re-summoning it again or changing maps. This is very  annoying.

3-Shift signet doesn't work when moving, i confirm.

4-Sometimes i don't see any projectiles with sky circus, and discharge arraw sometimes execute too early before the mech is on foe resulting in wasted not a lot damage attack.

5-Several times the game tell me i can resummon the mech (big icon not crossed) but then when clicking on it, nothing happens, game doesn't re-summon it on the area I placed the circle attack cursor on. Also, the golem doesn't land where i ask it to land from time to time.

  11. @Fire Attunement.9835So this will be a very long feedback comment because this is my favourite spec, i paly engie since launch, this is my dream specialization.

    Positive:

-So firstly: I find the mech skills animations very cool. It looks impressive, render well. I am fan of mech skyrocket to sky when leaving.

-Secondly it is really cool that the specialization traits chosen affect what F1-3 mech attacks skills you have. It is 9 specializations traits that can be chosen, so 27 different possibilities!

-Thirdly, the signets also trigger mech attacks so, in fact, it is 10 skills that are realated to mech, which is quite cool because to me it puts the mech even more under spotlight.

-The damage is very cool, and i feel strong with the mech near me helping me slaughtering foes or giving boons.

-Once the mech is lost, it reappear near us, à la ranger pet, so even it is lost it reappears.

    -The mech can be named.

-The overall theme of a jade golemancer/mechanist is respected, and the concept and its execution are on the rendez vous.

-The look of the mech itself is very cool. Like some suggested, I know i would like to dye it too, in dark silver and red instead of gold and green.  But that idea of customization, that can even be monetized could also applies to turrets skins, necro minions skins, elementals skins from ele and so on..... like mount skins but for summons used by the players tied to its profession.

-It feels dynamic, fluid, very cool. I fought with specters against a giant veteran karka and it was E P I C.

-The mace skills don't feel slow, so another good point. Even the mech skills attacks skills have to me a correct recharge time apart summon again one.

    Negative:

-The biggest issue to me is the very long cooldown to re-summon mech if dead, wouldn't say make it instaneous, but here is an idea: instead of waiting  90sec, maybe allow player to resummon it when healed? If mech health point > 0 then allow mech to be resummoned! Since the signet heal a lot the golem (+ ~15000 health?) allow the player to use heal signet then resummon golem without any cooldown. The resummoned golem will not be full health anyway so i don't see any issue!

-The second weird thing, and now it is true it bothers me after playing, is the fact that the toolbelt is absent when golem is not summoned. It feel unfinished: Feels like no toolbelt skills have been created for signets and that's why there is no toolbelt. Toolbelt should be brought back and usable when mech isn't here. I am not a programmer and maybe, the toolbelt is the mech skills because of spaghetti code. When compared to ranger, not an issue for them, because they always have a pet, and they have two of them, but here, mechanist have only the mech and if dead, nothing, so it is needed to have toolbelt. Make F1-F2-F3-F4 signet toolbelt and allows other toolbelt skills.

-I am only disapointed by the MACE skills. Indeed, mace 1 is very basic looking, with the teaser image, would be surely better as animation something like bonk with mace then the player touch the foes with a tesla/electric gauntlet. Mace 1 animation is really meh compared to mace 3 which looks fabulous and banger. Mace 2 is already really cool, but imho miss some effects like jade electric arcs/statics.

-Finally, more synergy with other weapons and playstyles aka build. There should be a little effect added to all specialization traits that affects Kits, Turrets and Elixirs. With jade technology, don't see why we can't have "Upgrade the turrets core with jade power circuitry to make them gain boons" or "Effects of elixirs are stronger because of jade diluted in them" or "Your kits received some upgrades are their skills are now faster, torment and grant might" those are just random ideas.

-I would like the Mech name limit increased by 3 letters and to allow use of NUMBERS. I am currently writing in name things like "Mark XVII" whereas i could write Mark 17. So please allow us those.

-I would recommend lowering the timer of "Mech checking if player near it or not", this way the mech will follow us more closely, not waiting that we are far to teleport on us or getting lost. About pathing, maybe allow mech to fly above void to join us.

  12. I totally agree. I want an inquest mk XVII dreadnough ruby golem

But seeing that mech makes me also wonder when Anet will sell us skins for summons.

Really, this is good potential of income for them:

    -Engie turrets skins (mech now)

    -Ranger pet skins

    -Necro minion skins

    -Guardian spirit weapons

    -Thief guild appearance

    -Ele elementals skins

    -Mesmer clones appearance?

    -Ranger banners appearance

    -Revenants legend skins

    Themed set, racial ones....

  13. I like the current iteration of mechanist and its f mech command skills I DON'T WANT TO HAVE THEM REMOVED.

Peoples already asking to destroy the fun and nice gimmicks of the spec -_- i prefer jade attacks than toolbelt.

Or eventually, show toolbelt when golem not deployed but that s it.

  14. I like the current iteration of mechanist and see nothing wrong. Even, it s true if its spec traits could apply bonus to other kits and weapons.

The fact that toolbelt is removed and replaced by golem command attack is in fact a good point and advantage to me. I hate toolbelt, and so those mech skills makes the specialization mechanic which is the golem sranding out even more. Replacing those mech attacks F skills by the regular toolbelt ones would RUINS  the specialization to me. More synergy from spec traits with other engineer skills but that's it, nothing more .

The core of that new spec is the golem/mech. It isn't credible at all asking to play a toolbelt build with a golem. I want to play with my golem at FULL potential, with signets and the f1-2-3 command skill and f4 summon/unsummon.

But it is credible to ask that turrets or some kits to gain effect with the mechanist specialization traits to make more build diversity possible.

Weird thread, can only say that.

Eventually show toolbelt, allow it to be used when golem not deployed but that's it

The entire minion/pet speculation is pretty much just based on that one wierd glitch that had the pet rename thing pop up on an engineer

Nothing anet has shown us has given any indication that this spec is based on minions/pets/golems

The icon looks like a guy with big arms, this picture shows us a charr with obvious mechanical devices on their arms with a fist being shot out

Its literally just the community fabricating something that isn't there

Mmh mmh. Shing jea stream. When on raptor taxi. At a moment at the right of nick hernandez, thete is a very bulky and imposing golem like structure in distance. The map icon look like an asura skull with jade prisms, imho jade golem.

    See:

    https://twitter.com/DarkiGin/status/1447976488721133579?s=20

  16. I like the silhouette, it doesn't invalidate several possibilities.

I see personally a charr wearing 2 energetic gauntlets pumping jade energy from wires in order to create lightning bolt or shockwaves? The charr is holding the weapon with its left hand like it is giving an order. So totally possible, a golem as elite. During shing jea stream there was a strange wood golem head like icon near a poi.

Interesting silhouette, impatient to check it out, but what i have in mind currently is legend of korra equalist gauntlets and mechs.

  17. Since a long time now, there are still 4 Decorations slots displaying https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Item_icons#/media/File:Deleted_Item.png as icon in trophy category.

I kindly ask them to be removed, I can't stand seeing those 4 useless slots that occupy the place of potential REAL decoration.

Second point: Since Heart of Thorn launch, the Gilded banner decoration is accessible! Please fix it! Or remove it! Another bugged slot.

Third point, I heard rumor that this year and last year Halloween added Haunted door decorations but they are accessible nor displayed in the Guild decoration UI, can this also be fixed if it is true?

TLDR: Arenanet, 1-Delete the four Work In Progress decorations in Trophy. 2-Make the gilder banner craftable and placable. 3-If there is indeed an haunted door deco, make it avaialable. Thanks.

Those are needed hot-fixes can't stay like this.
