  1. For me, it only started after the Steam client update. And since my laptop is not a gaming laptop, and it's a 2020 release, I also noticed slowness with GW2 when launched via Steam. When I tried Lutris again this week, it's faster, and I no longer experience crashes when opening TP (last time I tested it was CoherentUI days). So, I'm back to using Lutris with the latest lutris-ge-proton (I use Qt-Proton to get updates from GE's GitRepo easily). * Pop!_OS 22.04
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong. What you are saying is: 1. You have a utility in Slot 7. 2. When you press, say F2, it will trigger the Slot 2 skill of Utility 7, as well as the Mech's own F2 skill?
  3. You don't necessarily have to find your serial keys. But it does help a lot in verifying your ownership of your account. ^_^ I strongly suggest you contact them, as they probably accept other ways of verifying your ownership of an account. But of course, the first order of business is to give them as much information as possible, so they can search for your account. After that, they can begin the verification process. As for the “who the hell would keep track”, I do. I still have a copy of my Serial Keys for StarCraft (90s), for example. I still have copies of my Serial Keys for every WoW, Guild Wars 1, GW2, and other games. ^_^ A friendly advice, in the future, keep these important details somewhere secure with a security that only you can remember (and will not forget the unlock key to access it). You never know when you might need this information, like in the current situation. I was able to recover accounts I've forgotten in other services/products because I kept these important information. It may not seem useful hen you first bought a product, but when you need it, at least you have it. Think of it as your purchase receipt, which is usually asked for “warranty“. It just became digital. ^_^ I hope you recover your account and get access again!
  4. It is no longer merged because the ArenaNet-GW2 account was already disconnected from the NCsoft account. However, as the OP said, he did go through the process. This means that his NCsoft-GW2 account is now an ArenaNet-GW2 account, but the OP can not remember his login details (ie the associated email address). Any NCsoft-GW2 accounts which were not linked to an ArenaNet-GW2 account prior to the disconnection with NCsoft account database, were automatically converted into an ArenaNet-GW2 account. However, these said accounts are not accessible because it doesn't have a valid email address. These accounts have to be updated with a valid email address first before it can be logged-in. ^_^
  5. I was in a Party with someone doing their PoF story: Facing the Truth. In the rune phase of the mission, it gets stuck in “Investigate the newly revealed area”. The party leader / story owner is the one who did everything related to the mission, twice, but the runes can not be picked by any party member. The only way to move forward with this phase is to do it solo. --- P.S. Before someone replies, “you don't need a party for it”: Yes, it is doable solo, but it still qualifies as a blocker type bug. Players can choose to party for a soloable story mission for whatever reason. ^_^
  6. No idea. Since it was patched, it was the most annoying for everyone, new and existing players alike. LOL.
  7. There was a time when NCsoft created accounts can be used with Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. It did not create an ArenaNet account. One day/year, they decided to detach from NCsoft account system because of the changes planned for it. Players with an NCsoft account, or with a linked NCsoft and ArenaNet account, received an email about it informing of the "detachment". Players with only an NCsoft account were asked to create an ArenaNet account, then link it to their NCsoft account so their GW and GW2 data can be transferred to their new ArenaNet account. While players with already linked accounts were simply informed that they can no longer use their NCsoft account, and should use their ArenaNet account's email addresss to login. (This is my case, my NCsoft and ArenaNet accounts have been linked since Guild Wars 1.) I think this is what the OP is asking about. To the OP, you will have to remember the email address associated with your account. ArenaNet accounts are email based, and back when NCsoft and ArenaNet accounts exist at the same time, the email addresses can be different. You have to remember the email address on the ArenaNet account, not the NCsoft account. Your last resort is to contact ANet support. You can provide them the following: - a list of email addresses you suspect you used - The NCsoft account that was linked to it before. - The name of your characters - When you created the account - Serial keys/codes (this is the most important) - Last 4-digit of the CC's used (if you bought anything directly from ANet - and other information that can [1] help them find your account; and [2] prove that you own the account Hope it helps.
  8. Now that the migration to CEF is done (sans the errors encountered by some), it will be a Quality of Life update to add an in-game browser for the wiki instead of launching the OS's default browser when typing /wiki.
  9. Different people are saying some of these: 1. The game client is different, you have to redownload it. = false. 2. You can not use your ArenaNet account in Steam, you have to download the non-Steam version. = false. 3. You can link your ArenaNet account with your Steam account. = false 4. You can buy from Steam and add it to your original account via guildwars2.com. = false 5. The Steam and ArenaNet game clients are on different servers. = false And a lot of other answers I've encountered in various GW2 communities, even in-game. It is confusing players, especially those returning, because they read/hear different answers. If what you said is correct, then my post wasn't meant for you. ^_^
  10. This! To add to the “re-arrange” suggestion, Guilds. I want to re-arrange my guilds and not bother the officers to re-invite me (and with the timezone difference, it's going to be a hassle).
  11. There is a lot of confusion about this because of the different answers provided. Here's a short run down, and hopefully clarifies everything. I. Official statement by ANet You can not link your ANet account with your Steam account. II. Unofficial discovered by players You can launch GW2 via Steam and use your ANet account by adding -provider:Portal in the Steam launch options of GW2-Steam. FAQ: Q: Can I buy expansion via Steam and use it for my ANet account? A: No. Any content you buy via Steam for GW2 will be associated with your Steam-GW2 account. Q: So, I should buy expansions via the guildwars2.com website? A: Yes. If you want your purchases associated with your existing ANet-GW2 account. Q: Can you play the expansions from your ANet account with the Steam-GW2 client? A: Yes. If you bought the expansion via the guildwars2.com store with your ANet-GW2 account, and use that ANet-GW2 account to login, then you can play the expansions even if you log in via the Steam-GW2 client. Q: Is the Steam-GW2 client different from the ANet-GW2 client? A: No. They are the same. The only difference is that the Steam-GW2 client has a built-in -provider flag to trigger the Steam auto-login. Q: How can I use my ANet-GW2 account with my Steam-GW2 client? A: Go to Steam-GW2's launcher settings and add -provider:Portal. When you click the “Play” button, the GW2 client will show the username/password login option. Q: If I use -provider:Portal flag, does that mean my ANet-GW2 account is now linked to my Steam account? A: NO. ANet doesn't offer linking of accounts as of this post. Q: I want to use Steam to play GW2, but I already have an ANet account, do I need to re-download the game via Steam? A: Yes and no. Yes, you need to trigger the Steam installation of GW2 to register the game in an “official” way (i.e. NOT the “add a non-Steam game” option). Once you see the GW2 launcher itself, where the “Play” button of GW2 is (lower-right corner), close the GW2 client, and Steam client. Find your original GW2 installation folder, copy the gw2.dat file, and paste it in the Steam-GW2 installation folder. Launch Steam again, then launch GW2. Q: Are the Steam and ANet GW2 servers separate? A: No.
  12. Ahh! I haven't thought of that. I'll give that a try. And thank you for the explanation, too! ^_^
  13. Haha, yep, thank you ^_^ Yeah, that is what's confusing, it should work since it relies on python and python modules only. Waiting for the dev to reply. From what I gathered, he's from EU, and they're from the beetle speedrun guild. ^^
  14. There are factors considered in their security script that can trigger a ban. However, do not worry about it, simply contact Anet, they'll check, explain you need to use a VPN or proxy, and the security ban will be lifted. If you have an app-based Two-Factor Authentication enabled on your account, it does help in minimising triggering the security ban. Of course, do not change IPs now and then, repeatedly changing your IP does make it look your account was compromised and will trigger a security ban. Oh, do not click the “remember this network” for VPNs or proxies you are using, it will defeat the purpose of having a 2FA. You can if you connect to one particular VPN server only, more than that, might as well disable 2FA.
  15. I'm 50-50. This was the model of Guild Wars (at least the 6 months part) and did not work. Then again, for GW, they want to release an expansion every 6 months, which was a daunting task. I'm afraid this might end up with “rushed” content. However, I am also for it because it will ensure we get something new instead of waiting for the next big expansion, or next big Living World episode. I think, instead of a quarterly release for mini-content, it should be every 4 months. This should give them another 30 days to work on the next mini-content. As for the mini-expansion, that remains to be seen. I do hope the 6-month timeline will work for the mini-expansions, side-by-side the quarterly mini-content releases. (At least that's how I understood it.)
  16. Nope. It is set in server time. When their servers were still in US West Coast, it was set in PDT/PST. When they moved to Amazon, it's now set in EDT/EST (or is it CDT/CST). But, regardless, because the game is set in server time, all events are based on it, and then calculated accordingly to other timezones in the Wiki. Thus, the rest of the world is affected as well. There are other global games with in-game events that rely on real-world time, to avoid confusion with the global players, they set their game to use UTC by default. Those with DST are the ones who should make the adjustment, not the game, not the rest of the world.
  17. Yeah. It is annoying. They should set the game's default clock to UTC to avoid their DST affecting all of us.
  18. Because they want to capture the Asian way of eating ramyeon/ramen/Asian noodles. Here in Asia-Pacific, in particular, China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and VietNam, making a slurping sound when eating ramyeon/ramen/noodles is showing to the cook that you are enjoying the food they prepared for you. It is a show of respect and you recognise their effort. If you did not grow up here in Asia-Pacific—even if you're Asian—or you are a foreigner visiting Asia-Pacific countries; you probably did not notice/hear this slurping sound because we generally do not let foreigners—non-Asians in particular—hear it. However, if it is just us, or within the family, it's a pretty normal thing to hear. I'm sorry if it “sounds like someone just pigging their food”. I won't fault you for that, that is your culture. But, please do understand that it is a cultural thing and ANet simply tried to capture the whole experience. What ArenaNet can do is to introduce some new sound setting for this particular sound effect, and any other existing and future sound effects. Something like “Turn on/off minor sound effects that might annoy/trigger some cultures”.
  19. To ArenaNet devs, Currently, it is not possible to set the “Vertical Position Far” setting far to the left (minimum) when in Action Mode. It is currently locked in the middle (50%). This restriction is making it hard to use flying mounts because the camera is not aligned to the character when flying. You think you're aligned to the target, but the mount is actually lower vertically/altitude. It works fine if you are in RPG mode, but is bad in Action Mode. Thank you for your consideration. Screenshot: Guild Wars 2: Vertical Position Far setting is locked to 50% when in Action Mode
  20. Yeah, that's the thing, everything is already installed. It's not WINE dependent, it runs on Python directly. Already contacted them, but as it goes with anything open source, it takes time to get replies (like in my own [non-python] projects). So, I asked here, just in case someone already knows the answer. Again, I apologise if this was too much off-topic. ^_^
