  1. So they should add a 1 for 1 rally mechanic to PvP like it is in WvW? nah, just remove it entirely. You can still ress your downed mates after a fight.
  2. Rally is a really dumb mechanic in PvP gamemodes. A close teamfight can easily become completely onesided when half of one's team gets suddenly revived with half their healthbar. Downstate itself is fine, it adds something unique to GW2's pvp, sure they could rebalance some aspects, just remove that stupid rallying.
  3. Actually, knights amulet exists in pvp, and with it you can easily build 3,5k toughtness upwards.
  4. I vote for necromancer, no matter whether it is core necro, reaper or scourge. The difficulty isn't within damage combos or executing the spec, but mostly about positioning and reading the map. Necro is food if it get's focused, and necro cannot escape, so it takes clever positioning of yourself and smart usage of movement skills like flesh wurm, spectral walk (or that scourge portal that I always forget the name of). I personally use the core necro spec, to put it into your format: Necromancer (core)Curses, Soul Reaping, 3rd either spite or death magic.Teamfights, focusing key targets, corrupting boons while staying alive.Staff+scepter/warhorn, focus can be an option as well.Condi, a significant part of it's damage comes from corrupted enemy boons.
  5. Portal nerf: I'm sceptical about this one, as portal can be used to negate misplays by the mesmer player. Probably fine on base mes and whatever is left of chrono, but could be problematic on mirage.Shifting damage to players skill from clones: Agreed.Ci will get reworked anyway. J hope immob gets removed since it basically turns MoD into a stun, since daze prevents actions other than movement and dodge rolling and immob also prevets these, without an internal cooldown like old confounding suggestions had.I hope GS gets some work. The weapon is really weak, aside from it's GS2+F1 burst niche. Playing with greatsword feels awful, and it's probably the worst long-range weapon in the game, even worse than ele scepter.About traits: Made some suggestions about mirage traits above. I hate the design decision of ANET to gut base mesmer and chrono to balance mirage. I actually think most of the traits can be reverted once mirage is taken care off.
  6. Problem with condi Mirage is, that it can do quite a lot of damage with it's clones while being extremely slippery. I think some degree of slipperyness and confusion should stay, it's an illusionist afterall, but we should probably get a few more ways to punish the mirage for mistakes. Mirage Cloak should no longer be useable while stunned.Trait "Elusive Mind" reworked: Exhaustion removed, stunbreak removed, now allows Mirage to dodge while CC'd. Not sure about keeping the condi remove part, it would fit well, but maybe it would already be too much. Goal is to force Mirage into a decision between more pressure (IH) and defense (EM).Staff Ambush nerfed for clones. Condi mirage has too much damage from this ambush skill with very little counterplay. Some rework of CI that removes the interrupt in favor of... something else. No concrete idea about this but it shoudn't turn interrupts into hard CC's, the domination trait that did the same got reworked for a reason. With these changes, mirage shoudn't be in an OP state anymore. However, mesmer in general received so many nerfs due to mirage, that gutting mirage will likely result in Mesmer being too weak overall. Some suggestions to introduce a healthy version of Mirage and Mesmer in general Revert the nerfs on Cry of Frustration, Maim the Disillusioned and Ineptitude. Condi Mesmer and Mirage applying condis with their shatters is much healthier for the game than clone ambush spam. It's telegraphed and rewards the Mesmer for playing well and actually landing his skills.Rework Chrono. The last changes were straight up terrible for Chrono and deleted so many builds.Allow some sort of power build that doesn't involve a oneshot combo using GS. Maybe increase damage of Mind Wrack when used with 2 or 3 illusions, so Power Mes can still be bursty without going back into the degenerate pattern of stealth->GS2->MoD->Gs3->F1. Power Mes doesn't live up to it's illusionist fantasy.
  7. I guess someone tried the drunk scrapper build in Anet's HQ, I guess someone in their balance team^^So Scrapper basically requires another rework, however I also think that Scrappers current offensive traits should be moved to a core traitline to preserve the build. Maybe Firearms line? It currently doesn't have too many good traits for power engi.
  8. In the last balance patch, scrapper was reworked another time. Goal was clearly to nerf the bunker scrapper spec, which could prove to be quite hard to kill.Well, it was a success. Bunker scrapper disappeared completely. However remember how scrapper was advertised as a melee brawler elite spec? Here's the old reveal article:https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/meet-the-scrapper-engineers-elite-specialization/So what is left from scrappers bruiser playstyle? Almost nothing, everything is tied to barrier, and the only source of barrier for scrapper is the grandmaster minor trait (15% of outgoing damage, also -300 vitality penalty for this) and bulwark gyro, which requires allies and lets you tank their damage as well. Adaptive armor is only active when barrier is active, and barrier is almost never active on a brawler or bunker build since it is tied to outgoing damage. So it's no surprise that the only scrapper build for pvp is basically a squishy rifle build buffing itself up with elixiers and rng rampage, only choosing scrapper for it's damage traits (which are quite good right now). It's actually the only build that can utilize the new barrier trait efficiently. The funny thing about it: There is an efficient bruiser build for holosmith instead. S/Sh with high protection uptime, decent cleanse and ok burst with photon forge mode. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Holosmith_-_Protection_HoloSo, contrary to the descriptions on the official GW2 homepage, scrapper and holo have their roles reversed atm. Scrapper is the squishy burst build and holo the tanky brawler. Beside that, the current scrapper variant would also work with core engi, however scrapper happens to have superior offense traits, so it's chosen instead. In terms of gameplay clarity, this is just terrible, and I can't imagine that people want to play scrapper for elixier-based burst builds using rifle.
  9. been trying this and had some decent success in high gold-low plat. Made 2 chances: took courage sigil (not really necessary but more constant 25 might) and changed elite to mortar kit. Mortar allows you to have a lot more presence in teamfights, you can easily turn 1 downed state into 3-4 downstates with mortar kit pressure, and you also get a lot more combo fields to get superspeed from.
  10. Weaver with rune of evasion. This build has so much condi cleanse that there's no way how mirage could kill it, and the same goes for any other condi build. However a decent condi mirage should also notice imidiately that he can't win against that and outrotate the slower ele.
  11. It's actually just the interaction between mirage cloak, infinite horizon and staff clone ambush. As long as mirage has a staff equipped and infinite horizon trait, he can probably slot whatever the heck he wants into the 2 remaining trait lines and still be a condi threat. The current CI dueling/chaos build just adds some interrupts and cc pressure to the staff build, but it's not what causes the actual damage. That's still staff clones and it's ambush. If Ci, daze mantra or pistol 5 get nerfed, mirage will still play condi, just with a more defensive/utility focused build (might be dueling/inspiration then). If we actually want to remove that toxic condi mirage playstyle, I suggest reworking the staff ambush or introducing a skill split to reduce the condi application from clone's staff ambush. What I don't want to see is core mesmer or chrono (rip chrono 15.07 btw) getting nerfed even more because of mirage. Power mirage or even condi shatter builds (with illusion traitline) aren't broken at all, and if condi mirage is played, it should be condi shatter since shatters can be evaded and have actual cooldowns, instead of clone ambush spam. Mesmer got hit with so many nerfs over the last months, that IH staff is probably the only good build left for them, and it is super cheesy and annoying to fight. Mirge and mesmer could be much better than this degenerate playstyle.
