for me, for now, it would be enough to know what achievements I need to have ready for the leg. relic. Do I have to complete all relic sets ? That would mean I'm making/buying 50 that I don't use. I think there are 58 in total. Just to be safe, I keep them in the bank, so I have a dusty inventory... Or would there be no need for that? We just don't know anything.

The crafted ones you can make into Research Notes. The ones from the chests count as crafted. Once you have them the relevant Collection item is rewarded and you can freely dispose of them.

Okay, let me rephrase it: We have not gotten all the important information on the Legendary Armor sets yet (namely the actual in-game visuals), so what makes you think we will get any information on the Legendary Relic beforehand?

ANet stating that we would get some information about the compensation for Legendary Runes in direct correlation with the Relic.

I meant a preview of the SKINS (hence the concept art reference).

There would be no visual component to the Legendary Relic other than the icon itself. Besides, ANet promised in an earlier statement that they would return when more info was available on the Legendary Relic, specifically on the reimbursement from the Legendary Runes. It's less than seven weeks to go. They should know more by now or at the least have an idea of what it'll be..

Well, legendary relic is... a legendary item

And switching from berserker to harrier is as much a gameplay altering thing as switching relic...

You can still do it easier than you can change Relics, it's also a conscious choice that makes your gameplay experience differ a lot, and in the meanwhile, you can use different Relics for the same Build depending on what you want to do. This is a different thing than what you allude to.

We haven't even gotten a preview of the Legendary Obsidian Armor yet, aside from the concept art, and people have been already working towards it for almost half a year. I no longer expect any information on the Legendary Relic until it becomes available in-game.

Incorrect, you can sus out what you need from the Collection for it. It's the same with all Legendaries now. However, it is annoying that getting an item for one will update all the others if there's an item overlap.

So, you are here since at least 2018 and don't know we probably won't get any preview until 1 or 2 week before the patch. And the preview probably won't be a detailled list of what you need, since it's almost never the case for legendary.

The legendary ow armor is more an exception than the rule and i think the only reason why it's the case is because it's driving a lot the content of Soto, they were kinda forced to disclosed it to make people play the content.

So, based on that logic, they don't expect it to drive Soto content so it probably won't need much Soto material if not at all.

The context is different. Legendary items are luxury items that only offer various quality-of-life benefits over Ascended items. Meanwhile, Relics are an integral part of your playstyle and while normal Relics exist, a Legendary Relic would provide tangible gameplay benefits.

  8. We're coming closer and closer to the update where the Legendary Relic will be implemented and we still have zero information on what we'll need to create it nor on how people who have Legendary Runes will be compensated other than knowing that they will.

This makes it impossible to start saving up. With the Obsidian Armor, we could guess way in advance what we needed, and while the Relic will undoubtedly be a lot easier and faster it would be nice to know if we need any special stuff that we need to start saving for now, like, any of the map specific soul-bund items? Knowing that we have to start gathering them is quite relevant since you can only get a few of them pr. day if you go total grind on them.

Tell me you haven't played ele without telling me you never played ele. It has come to my attention that people on the forums don't actually come here for advice they just come here to cry . Should have known.  Kek tbh the only issue roaming right now period is harb, every other class has some counter that you can easily swap to.

This is the dumbest kind of argument ever as it implies that people are unable to critique something unless they do it themselves. In which case there would be almost no critics of any kind. Please use proper arguments, instead of, just trolling.

My initial post was genuine and you've only responded with trolling that implies that you're superior and anyone who complains is inferior. It's the dismissive "git gud" of anyone who realises subconsciously that there's an issue and their benefitting from that issue is in their conscious mind is "because they are particularly skilled and has nothing to do with unfair advantages at all."

If you genuinely want to contribute then come up with specific ways that can counter an Elementalist because right now it seems that Elementalists can use a general build to take on everything while others need a highly specialised build to take on Elementalists in which case they'll be fodder for other general builds since they'll lack tools. Going, "What about these, they're a problem too!" is disingenuous as the question is about Elementalists. I already know what the issue with Thieves is and how it could be solved once and for all, which I've elaborated on in other posts. I can only imagine the issue with Harb and I'd guess it's a numbers thing. The reality remains that Thieves and Elementalists are four different specs each that are all issues of varying degrees and Harb is only one class.

This game was better during the glass Canon era, way more skill based.  Now you can face tank power damage and not even dodge then cry in the forums cause the mean ele bullied you in your tier 3 camp , anyways, im done replying this is clearly just another thread from people who don't understand combat.

You have no consistency in your argumentation. Another one of your posts stated that Ele was a glass cannon and in this post, it can face tank? Only one of those statements can be true, which one is it?

This is a nothing statement it has no meaning. If 100 is the intended and one is on 200 and it's only nerfed by 25 for each patch to avoid accidentally going too far, then the "nerf over several patches" would be justified. Where did Eles start when they got these nerfs? I remember Eles getting buffed in a patch that made them virtually indestructible.

There are few builds in the game whose roaming builds include enough CC to chain it.

Worst meta yet. Just did some wvw and yep. A little stronger than before, forget about killing the boonball, just run put some damage and escape, nobody dies. I hope someone makes a video of them literally rolling their face on the keyboard while booned up and not dying while doing it, so that Anet gets the picture correctly.

And now they want 25 dollars to add new weapons to core. Such an insult to the wvw player base.

The Boonball meta is caused by the base performance system of the game. Roughly said, the average maximum performance of everyone is 25% of their total performance value without Boons. The performance system needs to be redesigned so that the base performance of everyone is around 75% of the total performance while Boons only provides the last 25%.

As the system is now Boonballing is too great a performance increase to skip.

At what point in what is now , 11 years now, we are going to see SA traitline reworked and more reveal added to all classes/builds. Maybe its possible to make thief class that needs some skill to play at some point ? Just a thought 😄 .

The answer is to remove Reveal as a mechanic and give every Stealth application a Grace Period before the player can be affected by stealth again. This is the only way to solve this issue on a causal level. Trying to fix it with an overpowered mechanic with a hard counter makes the mechanic it's supposed to counter even more overpowered if you lack the hard counter.

Skills and Traits that currently give Reveal can be changed so they apply Grace Period on the affected.

  15. How do you defeat roaming Elementalists? They seem to have great mobility, great survivability, and great damage. It's like, they have everything and the kitchen sink while everyone else has to choose two of the three.

What's this an issue of? Celestial? Or is it the Elemental Attunements that give them all of this?

In Crystal Cavern, that is literally part of the mechanics of the challenge. So not the same thing at all.

Again unless you can come up with a way where it is optional and only the player can see it, changing this for the winter jp is not something that would work for me.

People still do it and how would it be a challenge to be shrunk down? It would literally make any JP easier as a large part of the screen would no longer be a player character.

    I did not invent anything.

You said "I like to play tiny races.... I hate doing JPs with the giant races cause I can't see.... devs, please make the giant races shrink when they enter a JP cause I don''t want to change characters to a giant race so I can see"

I stated us giant race players would be singled out and negatively impacted by your request as suddenly shrinking the character model would significantly change how the character moves.

I then proposed the opposite of your request; make the tiny races get forced to be giants at JPs... which would solve your complaint of not being able to see, but not impact the Norn and Charr players.... I also acknowledged that this inversion of your initial request would similarly be unfair to all the small races, as they would suddenly be slower and harder to maneuver.

My proposed ACTUAL fix for your issue is surprisingly similar to your last argument. If they are going to force change one race, they have to force change them all. That is exactly what the Crystal Cavern JP does.... the mechanic of that JP does not just change a single race, it effects everyone equally. Everyone can get shrunk or grown multiple times while running though a single time... this is FAIR. Your initial request to just effect Norn and Charr is NOT fair to the player base.

Yes, strawman as it implies things I never said or even implied. The arguments you said I used are invented, I can see that now that you repeat what you think you read as I never used the words "like" or "hate." You have an obvious chip on your shoulder and I suggest you remove it before it grows out of proportion and makes your life miserable.

Nothing strawman about it. I rejected your request, and argued the inverse.  Imposing a mandatory change that effects payer movement to a percentage users, while having zero change to the other players is not a change that should be made as it is unfair to the player base.

Clearly you do not like the idea of having your character altered against your will in a way that would effect your game play either.  Specifically, instead of force shrinking Norn/Charr I suggested forced growing of the small ones to the same size as Norn/Charr so that your "these other players with their big toons are too big" argument is void in the same way. Either way, it is not an idea that would be well received by all those effected if it was a forced change made on them.

I agree that everybody becoming whisps would work, but ultimately be a negative impact and be more boring.

I also agree that 'only you see the large become small' would not work well as the larger races movements are based on their sizes. Note this fact is why I am against forcing the change on only some players. If you shrink a Norn, they move differently, and the sudden change makes the JP harder for those specific players.

I did provide an option that would not only work, but be equally fair (or unfair) to all players (unlike your request).... instead of transmutating all the big races to small(er) race sizes which effects their movement but having zero changes to the users who choose the small races (an unfair change), I suggested that all players get randomly changed to a new toon with a random race and NPC-esk body for the JPs. This way everyone is equally inconvenienced by the change, not just the Norn and Charr players.

You literally invented a situation so you could argue against it and make me look ridiculous by context. You're doing it again when you say that I'm against being force-altered. The Crystal Cavern JP does this and people are still going there. This is clearly less of a problem than you make it.

If it is done to characters automatically I think there would be a problem. Some players would not want it to happen.

If we had a way where only you see it and it is optional (like how the bobblehead item works), that would be fine by me.

    "Oh no... Anyway"

Most players would like to be able to see where they're going when it comes to an environment where Norn and Charr can block your vision by size alone. While it can be no fun to be forced into a different size, there are more people affected by no fun if their vision is blocked, unless Norn and Charr are suddenly the majority played races.

It's optimistic to think that it can be made so that only other players can see it since the walk cycles and animation timings are dependent on the size of the model. The only thing that could work would be like in the MKCT where other people are seen as wisps and that would be aesthetically boring for everyone.

  20. 19 hours ago, DemonAtTheWheel.1804 said:

While I can certainly see that a Norn or Charr player would actually benefit from being shrunk (cause the big toons are harder to use on JPs than the small ones, and Charr move funny), it being forced on ONLY those classes is wrong. An option to choose it would be preferred.

other options... just as absurd as forcing shrinking potions on specific races:

    • How bout you do JPs as a large toon and stop worrying about what other players do.
    • Force apply Endless Embiggening Tonic on all them puny Asura, Sylvari and Human toons so they are big and cumbersome like Norns, making the JP harder on them
    • Transmutate all players into generic Asura and apply cripple (so native Asura players are inconvenienced by the change too) for all JP zones

Yeah, all those absurd options suck.... so does forcing a shrink on larger players.

The only forced option that could be applied equally would be for a RNG based transmutation to a random generic NPC body. You would have a 1 in 5 chance (so 20%) that you get transformed into the same race, and an 80% chance you would have to adjust "on the fly" to the new size and movement style. The only way to change those odds would be to run as a Human or Sylvari, since they are the same size and general movement, giving you a 40% chance of not having to adapt and a 60% chance of having to deal with it.

To paraphrase - "Watch me makes a strawman argument that has absolutely nothing to do with anything that was originally said."

Yes, forced, I have done JPs and similar on Norns and Charrs and that's infinitely easier than being another race and having your vision blocked by a Norn and Charr and needing to do precision jumps. You can adjust to size and movement and compensate for it. You're unable to compensate for essentially making a blind jump where all you can hope is that you got the distance right since there's a Norn/Charr blocking your vision.

  21. 2 hours ago, Tanek.5983 said:

With Clocktower it makes sense to do it with the wisps because you all need to be jumping together. In Winter you have more options. Personally, I like seeing all the other players jumping along the paths and think the experience would be worse if everyone else was a wisp. Again, if it is an optional thing only you see, that's fine.

What? On all paths, you only have one option and on normal and expert this is further reduced to one option: Keep moving. Once you're on those snowflakes you have to get off them asap. The only option you have is to wait on the rest platform since waiting too long outside of that will kill you. My issue is the other players blocking my view on a timed activity where you need precision jumps. You know, the same thing as the Clock Tower. The main difference is that you can go right away if you mess up in Wonderland while you have to wait in the latter.

Can we get that meta as Wizards Vault weekly?

This meta is almost not done anymore but needed for a bunch of achievements and collections.

Then most people would just ignore that objective. Serpent's Ire is IMO the worst meta-event ever added to the game. The design of it is extremely annoying. Even after you get past the gate of needing mobs that spawn in random locations the boss will go invulnerable every 5% starting at 20% health and then you have an annoying and prolonged for no reason, badly scaled intermission event.

For Serpent's Ire to be included in the rotation Serpent's Ire needs to be redesigned to be actually enjoyable and less of a waste of time. It would have to give ten times the rewards of Dragon Storm for me to even CONSIDER going there and with the current design I would probably still skip it.
