This suggestion would only make sense if they were getting rid of Vinds core mechanic: Tenacious Ruin.
But I don't see anything mentioning this, suggesting TR is here to stay and is simply being split from one cast at 1.6s duration to two casts at 0.8 duration. Vind will still have most of the benefits on the trailine come entirely from on-dodge effects. So vigor/endurance traits remaining is as it should be
Well the 10% bonus relies on having less than full endurance, so from a certain perspective you want endurance regeneration to be as slow as possible to match the 15% buff timer(15sec iirc). And with the change we are going to want to run at between 50-100 endurance most of the time to keep a dodge handy. So I can definitely see an argument for nuking all the endurance traits and putting in other options(dps/boon/heal).

it's an official ANet blogpost, how much more of an Anet response do you want?
It’s from BEFORE dx9 was depreciated…
i’d like an update with a roadmap

While not quite answering your question, and perhaps going slightly off topic, I do want to chime in and say that I'm playing on Linux, via DXVK (Steam with GE Proton) and the game seems to run quite a bit better than it does on Windows on the same hardware.
I’ll have to try this asap.

I'm sorry, I think I wasn't clear in my response. There's no increased feature set of DX12 compared to DX11, as this is an abstraction layer and automatically hides the API from the programmer anyway. It can't expose any of the advanced features of DX12 to the application as its limited to its own feature set already fully implemented on DX11, so there's no functional difference.
BGFX is a low level rendring engine that supports DirectX up to 12, Open Gl, Metal, GLeS and Vulkan, it isn't going to keep ANET from the advanced features of Dx12, path(ray)tracing has been supported in BGFX via Dx12 for years. Dx11 and Dx12 are not that different. it's just a matter of putting in the effort. I for one would be more generous with gem purchases if they did.

The game uses the third-party BGFX backend which doesn't support DX12.
Actually, it does...

I hope the rendering engine is optimized more. DX11 didn't make my game perform better than the dx12 plugin.
dlss/fsr would provide a massive further improvement if you are gpu bound, like running very high frame rates or 4k or both.

"We chose to use DirectX11 instead of DirectX12 or Vulkan because we found that switching to BGFX’s DirectX11 implementation provided enough of a performance boost that the graphics backend was no longer ever a limiting factor for client performance. DirectX11 is very stable and has already been used by thousands of games for nearly a decade at this point. It allows us to provide support back to Windows Vista, while Vulkan support starts at Windows 7 and DirectX12 support starts at Windows 10. As far as graphics features are concerned, jumping from DirectX9 to DirectX11 gives us plenty of options for adding interesting features to the engine in years to come. Supporting more than one of these backends would balloon QA work for little tangible benefits."
I find it hard to believe that there's a huge cohort of gem buying players still using windows 7 but wtf do I know, and even if it were true is that really a good reason to hold everyone else back?

Again I’d like to hear from ANET on this, now that dx11 is in the bag.

The Dx11 update went so well, I wonder if someone at ANET might speak to the possibility of a Dx12 update now that Dx11 is the default and the steam release has happened? It would be super neato to get support for ray tracing and dlss type technologies through Dx12 in gw2!

Seems really cool, but I play rev and on 4k, however I’ll keep an eye on the progress. Thanks for doing this!

Well i am back from my ban for yelling at anet about the crit change, we got it back thankfully. I was going to comment constructively on this thread, but I forgot about Obtena.7952. I am done with these forums all together until they let us block specific users. I am also incidentally done with vindicator, can't use it in content progression when axe/axe sb and virtuoso exist, I'll get bullied out of the group otherwise. So good luck with your class and your forum. I just can't do it, it's too aggravating and sad and I can't keep it civil up in here anymore.

…power warrior builds don’t typically incorporate the Arms trait line, meaning that warriors were not fairly compensated for the Fury change. After the July 19 update, the grandmaster minor trait Pinnacle of Strength in the Strength line will provide a baseline +5% increased critical chance, in addition to its other effects. Furious Burst will also keep its increased critical chance while under the effects of Fury.
Would you then by that logic consider giving 5% to crit to rev’s retribution line, and other secondary lines that potentially loose out in power builds that don’t incorporate the sole crit trait on other classes?

Thanks for the tiny tiny amount of quickness, but WHY nerf the radius from 600 to 360?!?!?!?!

Which makes no sense cause Ventari already promotes that, because it has heavy e-management cost heal, now healign less... 33%-40% less 😛 lol with that energy cost.
I feel like Ventari will become like the American health care system.. sorry Anet but im used to have it almost free....so i would like to keep providing good RevCare, im from a better country!
On the one hand yes it’s tempting to be in ventari because of it’s stronger healing, on the other hand it’s tempting to have the rest of your squad’s boon support optimize around facet of nature dragon and never actually leave glint. Or alternatively it’s tempting to leave glint if doing power quickness to get impossible odds for 10 seconds, but again that’s probably not as good as having facet of nature dragon on all the time and optimizing the rest of the squad’s boon support gear/consumables around it.

I reaaaally don't think the healing potential of a Heal rev is going to be affected anywhere near the extent you suggest. Apart of Ancien Echo giving Rejuvenation, which I find stupid since you'll mostly be Heal rev under Herald, many skills have either added more healing procs around actions.
Natural harmony heals more, Rejuvenating assault, Energy expulsion, Healer's gift (after dodge roll), Words of censure (blinding) all now give direct healing, Serene Rejuvenation has a better HTO, Project Tranquility and Natural harmony also has higher healing scaling and a tad more needed condition cleansing all around.
How is any of this making the Heal Rev that much weaker ?33% of the outgoing healing after gear/consumables will be gone, more if you go dwayna runes. Other than the dodge roll heal and words you are not compensated at all if you are trying to camp glint for the f2 bonus, maybe things will be ok when in ventari, but between the outgoing healing nerf, having to loose 25% raw healing to get enough bd for quickness and the fact that you have to spec ancient echo instead of elevated compassion, your team’s health is likely to go to zero before you can get back into ventari again. We’ll see tomorrow I suppose.

Run sigil of stamina, you’ll be a god. If you’re trying to solo champions you might prefer cele renegade.

Ventary heals are not going that bad, several skills get more heals, Regen, heal on dodge, no energy cost for moving tablet. Just that, it's weird to give swiftness on projectile block skill, and boon on cleanse also is in wrong place. So alac heal Rene is almost ok. Vindi heal tho, will not see play coz no quick nor alac is there, which is sad.
All that crap will suffer from a lack of bonus healing to allies however, especially heal quickness herald, it’s passive healing is going to be horrible.

So how is removing over half the bonus healing to allies from salvation ok? Not only deleting heal alac rev from the game but also dishing out mammoth nerfs to every kind of heal revenant build? Ouch. I can take a hint, I know when I’m not wanted, I’ll see myself out.

I agree with you but at this point it’s like trying to fill a cavity for a dead dog. Removing over half the outgoing healing bonus from salvation was like shooting any flavor of heal rev in the face.

True. And honestly the dps/quickness build probably won't be viable ever unless they revert the CD changes. Burst of Strength's 25% damage modifier for 5s is now effectively halved in duration and we lose the full damage of two Elemental Bursts. It's just bad changes all around and I can't believe they nerfed full DPS Herald as well even though they "buffed it" lmao
Oh yeah those cooldown changes are obviously designed to discourage legend camping and promote swapping, but the consume effects should have 100% been buffed to compensate, especially burst of strength.

Revenant outgoing healing is taking a 33% bath because of outgoing healing traits being deleted out of salvation tomorrow, so it’s about to get a lot worse. Like don’t play any kind of heal rev unless you want to troll.

All other supports also do the SAME amount of damage a full DPS Herald does while running said boon duration gear and providing key boons. And it's not like they buffed Herald's DPS output with these changes to offset needing to run Diviner's, etc.
All true, and even if they double or triple the base quickness duration, the dps/quickness build may become viable but the removal of over half the outgoing healing bonus from salvation combined with having to choose draconic echo over elevated compassion has all but destroyed any kind of healing revenant build but especially quick heal herald.

Get rid of Quick and Alac Boon
in Professions
Posted · Edited by Jthug.9506
Actually I agree, they removed all the unique buffs, may as well just bake alac and quickness into food/utility and take it away from players too. That way no one has any uniqueness at all and it doesn’t matter what you play or what comp you bring to fights.
in fact why not remove all player based boon generation and just give people 12 hr duration boons when they enter any map or instance that way everyone is always on a level playing field.
