Catalyst? No, Arcane

Why do you insist on releasing battlemage Elite Specs on Elementalist? It has the lowest base HP in the game and the lowest armor (light).

Dear ArenaNet, you perfectly know your game doesn't have a single profession which can identify itself as a traditional Spellcaster and this is bad in my opinion because you uniformed all scholar professions to be battlemages. Not a good idea for diversity in an MMO Game. I have to refresh your memory on the Elementalist concept itself.

Let's start from the description:

"Elementalists are multifaceted spellcasters who channel elemental forces, making fire, air, earth, and water do their bidding. What they lack in physical toughness, they make up for in versatility and the ability to inflict massive damage."

Why developing another battlemage Elite Spec when you could have taken this chance to bring something really exciting for players who enjoy playing a true ranged Specialisation?

I think you wasted your chance to introduce the Arcane Mage.

There is a specialisation in the Elementalist's kit called Arcane:

-Arcane — Spells that use non-elemental magical energy which cast instantly, often dealing critical damage.

There are also a lot of related ideas on fan made discussions on the internet including my suggestion where I have proposed the introduction of F5 as an Arcane Attunement

Here: Suggestion: Elementalist complete rework - Elementalist - Guild Wars 2 Forums

The only justice you can do to Elementalists right now would be to make Staff  a viable choice because in all these years you just kept developing battlemages all the way without considering giving this squishy profession the right support utilities to compete with other choices. I played Scepter Tempest and it feels very clunky to play, I wouldn't even consider Core Ele as an option because it's the bottom tier for everything, including damage. You could just scrap Elementalist or develop a new Scholar profession designed to be played as a pure traditional Spellcaster, either way it would be a great solution in my opinion.

I will put this here again just in case:

"Elementalists are multifaceted SPELLCASTERS who channel elemental forces, making fire, air, earth, and water do their bidding. What they LACK IN PHISICAL TOUGHNESS, they make up for in versatility and the ability to inflict MASSIVE DAMAGE."

This description is missing a last line, I will add it:

"Contrary to other classes, Elentalists cannot use the elements to fortify themselves increasing defence capabilities, unless they decide to completely give up their mediocre at best damage capabilities. Also, two of it's elite specialisations are melee, cause having the lowest defence and health pool of all classes is not enough to make it useless, so please consider rolling a necro instead! ".

I wished I have red those lines before leveling mine to 80. I wasted my instant lvl 80 boost on my Ele, sadly. I would have rolled another profession otherwise, probably a Necro or a Mesmer.
