Running While Wielding a Bow (Out of Combat)

Just curious, because it's kind of a jarring difference from running with melee weapons wielded, but why is the run animation slowed down (compared with running with melee weapons) when running with a bow? The movement speed itself isn't different, but the animation is considerably slower and looks sluggish.

I have a hot key set up to stow my weapon because I don't like my toons running around with their weapon drawn.  Seems to resolve this sluggishness that you perceive.  /shrug

Running with longbow on a female norn does look unpleasent. Such small steps, I feel she is going to trip over given her weight and size.

What Kharmin said.  I think there might be one on default, actually, the Period button.
