Lets make Firebrand bad in WvW. [What if]

Hi.

We always asking the the question: How do we buff other supports in order to compete with Firebrand?"

What if we do it the other way around? Making Firebrand as bad as other support options?

Note: This is not meant to be serious.

 

Books

Lets start with increasing the casttime of the Books to 1 second.

Firebrand doenst have to deal with the wonderfull mechanic of being rooted. (Except for empower)

So we also add being rooted while summoning the books too.

 

Tagging power

If there is something every support build suffers from its the lack of tagging power for loot and wxp.

Thanks to reflects, Firebrand doesnt suffer from that problem.

So, Reflect Wall and Valiant Bulwark now destroy projectiles instead.

 

In addition:

Symbols now dont pulse dmg on summon but with a 1 second delay.

Holy Strike, and Shield of Judment have their dmg removed.

Line of Warding now has a 40s CD.

Shield of Absorbtion has its Knockback and Combofield removed.

The entire Axe has its condies reduced by 1 stack of each condi on all 3 skills. If the condi was 1 stack its removed totaly.

Purging Flames now pulses every 3 seconds. Duration adjusted.

Master of Consecration now only increased duration.

Force of Will has its Vitality bonus removed.

Imbued Haste now only increases Condition dmg and Healpower by 100.

 

I think that would still make Firebrand better then the next best option. Not counting scrapper for that role.

But atleast it would start to feel like playing another support build.

Nerfing a bit tomes could work you know? one of fb biggest advantages is that it has tomes, tons of stability and healing, bubble, etcetera, right now the closest thing to a fb for me would be a condi chrono, stab and cleanse mantra, stab well, though chrono has better cc for me, pulls, gravity, and can also bring veil or mass invisibility.

But fb is too rooted right now for people to consider other options, and tomes in a fight are just huge, making tomes sell powerfull in wvw could balance it out maybe.

You need a stab bot in wvw. Yes, guardian has always been that stab bot. Yes, other classes are not as good at it. The reality, however, is that no matter what you do to FB, as long as it still has the stability application, you will never replace it. So, imo, why make it worse to play if it will be required no matter what? No other class will ever get that level of stab application, stop asking for it. The best thing to do, is to make other classes have OP builds like they did with the vindicator and the druid. That gives you different ways to build teams. Instead of the FB, Scrapper, Necro, SPB, and X team we have been using for 5 years. It's not that bad off right now, some other classes need some builds to put them in a group that works, but it's better now than it ever has been in WvW as far as group options go. It could be better, it should get better, but nerfing FB just makes every group comp bad. Hate to say it, but it's true.

nerf fb mantra 3 and give better stab on other classes, what matters if you have 10 or 5 stacks of stab all the time, corruption and strips work the same, and no cc will pull 50 people 10 times each

If Firebrand was bad in WvW then Anet would finally give it buffs in sPvP instead of the craptastic state it has been in since HoT. Every single WvW nerf has effected FB in sPvP, even when the spec was already considered trash tier... it's laughable.
