Permanent Golem summons and other ways to augment racial skills?

So? How changing the skill that does greater dps to one that does lower dps can ever be an increase in dps? Because i seem to be missing something.

Yes. But that's only an increase over a skill that did lower damage before. Or one that has never actually been used.

You're the one that seem to think that this skill will be used by people that apparently either ran an absolute worst elite they could choose, or selected an active elite and never actually used it. All those are trademarks of people that either play badly, or make, well, let's call it "highly inefficient" build choices. Or both.

No. I am assuming someone picking that skill is not concerned about doing good damage at all. They are concerned primarily about aestethics of having a cool pet.

In short, your "dps increase" will be an actual increase only to people that run very bad builds, and as such have "average" levels of dps at best. So somewhere around 4-6k. At that level a small dps increase, passive or not, is pretty much irrelevant, and does not matter balance-wise. Anyone else will already be running far better elite choices.

Well it will be a dps increase for people who play decent builds but dont know when to use the elite instead they get a permanent summon as elite like necros flesh golem.

Well at least the Flesh Golem has a skill the player can activate which actually does a decent amount of BB damage and he still dies rather easily despite the fact that he's already one of if not the tankiest minion in the game. But as he said the damage increase from the skills in question is so minimal that for any at least somewhat decent build it's basically unnoticeable (there are ones which have double digit DPS numbers and that is while being up and actually getting to attack uninterrupted).

Flesh golem is mainly taken for its massive cc capability (which does require active cc use), not for its dps, which is not very good. From what i remember it gives around 600-700 dps in the best scenario (when it's permanently up, not killed, always attacking, and you do not use its cc skill).

In fact, it's very funny that you compare it to flesh golem - Necro is well known for having very, very bad elite skills (especially for power dps option) that are in desperate need of upgrade. Misfire, when upgraded to permanent summon, would be "comparable" to flesh golem - except it would be less tanky, and would lack the primary strength of the golem - it's cc skill. So, it would still be vastly inferior.

Im glad you are finaly admiting it would be a dps increase.

Since fleshgolem is 600-700 so will mistfire be a passive dps increase for any build.

No matter how small it is a 1 button press and forget skill now compared to others that you need to use actively

Again, to what? Not having any elite skill? Having an elite skill but not using it? Sure, it is. Is it a sensible baseline for comparison? Sure, it's not.

No, it will be a dps decrease for any sensible build.

And? People that cannot even press a skill off cooldown will not be helped by slotting a skill that will give them ~600 of passive dps. Their dps will still be "OW average" tier.
