Need help with a build

I'm looking for a core build that focuses on stealth and possibly poison I've looked everywhere on the net nothing to find anywhere is stealth dead for the thief

It's not dead.  However, the stealth builds are relegated to the Daredevil elite nowadays.  If you want to make a core build, you're probably on your own.

You arent alone,  on a core thief build there are 4 weaponset combos revolving around conditions, all are effective and the latter being best for more cleave but one high in initiative cost for stealthing . You are looking at D/D, D/P, P/D, and shortbow.

Shortbow is the cleave weapon that has mostly conditions with poison included with no access to stealth unless using,  includes bleeds, cripple, slight evade backwards with bouncing attacks that bleed poisoned foes. Detonating #2 warly abovw your target applies more bleeds that hit. Hitting Chokung Gas (#4) not only apllies an on impact Aoe Interrupt,  but also pukses poison to pric off of your bouncing autoattack that bleeds the foes! Extra is a shadowstep on #5 Infiltrators arrow that blinds on impact...port or no port it will blind

D/P. D/P giving non melee range stealth for higher initiative cost but allows you to stick to targets via Shadow Shot (#3 Dual Skill) All auto-attack dagger skill chains have poison. Your goal is to play with attrition and stealth with #5 then #2 through the field created, recover, then apply more poison...this set isnt really great at applying pressure and is mostly used for jabbing your target with Backstab (#1 while in stealth)

D/D being a mostly condition based melee range set may be one if your best options. #3, Death Blossom allows you to also apply bleeds and evades during the animation, but since it is a dual attack, taking the trait that allows your dual attacks to cause poison, you can poison as well as the bleeds 1 time per Death Blossom. The access to stealth is from #5 Cloak And Dagger, has a low initiative cost and is relatively quick to cast given you dont miss or become blocmed/evaded. Comes with torment on Dancing Dagger #4 that also bounces.

P/D is probably your best bet as it has Dancing Dagger, Cloak And Dagger but also includes immobilize which has great synergy with the afformentioned traits...a port backwards that if you hit ports you away from an enemy and flips to 5x bleeding shots. This is 2 skills for your #3 for extra poison.  Much much more survivability since youll be ranged at start of combat.

Open World Dagger leeching venoms. Celestial build with double daggers. Your stealth as much possible for sustain/Venoms with dagger 5. Rest of initiative is spent on dagger 3. Two Auto attack chains(AAC) are long enough to stealth again after you attack revealed yourself. Or 1 AAC + Dodge. Or 1 AAC + Dagger 3. Instanced PvE could become problematic depending on what you do. Most content is tuned to be done by the best possible builds. There isn't a build that does stealth and poisons on core that also does competitive damage. That OW build will do enough damage to do Low level fractals, dungeons and most strikes without grieving your teammates. But if you want an actual build for "real" instanced content you should go for some elite spec eventually. Deatheye revolves all around stealth attacks so that should tickle your fancy.
