Ok, so Thief.....Deadeye or Spectre...or DD? (pve, open world stuffs mostly)

Broadly speaking, I think Daredevil is still better at dealing with open world trash, and takes less modification to revert to something that is at least moderately effective against tough single foes, but there is a big difference between 'the absolute best the profession has to offer' and 'ineffective at the job'. Deadeye absolutely can do the job, you're just likely to end up switching between a couple of specialised builds rather than having one build that does everything.

 

P/P Payback is super fun OW if you like a gunslinger motif, but yeah DE would need a few swaps like P/P isn't the best against bosses/champs. Rifle or d/d variants can work well too I play both; but I enjoy the playstyles and don't mind swapping between events/etc. If you just want ease to not swap builds then DD or Spectre is nice/great. I just like Deadeye playstyle OW.

I wouldn't recommend P/P, you're doing the same damage or less than a support does and you're just, you know, providing damage with little to offer and your survivability isn't the best it could be.

For Open World the best builds are probably these by Lord memezen which can handle Legendary bounties. 

They both use Celestial Gear so you'd use that for OW, or Raid-specific gear in your other equipment tab if you're invested in the profession

Dagger/Pistol Deadeye, Hidden Killer+shadow arts, 60/40 mix of Valkyrie and Crusader. Very fun and survivable. Have cool downs up for every other enemy with refreshing gaze+payback, and gank every monster like it's an effective method of play.

For instanced content it is a choice between Condi D/D DD/Power Staff DD/Condi S/D Specter can't recommend anything in particular since I love playing all of them.

 

For open world I am a massive rifle Shadow arts Deadeye  simp. I ran it through anything, multiple mobs, group bosses, group bosses that summon minions, bosses that are too agile, bosses with high amount of immunity frames, bosses that are primarily ranged etc. It is foolproof and extremely easy to play definitely recommend you to try it.

To be honest most of my tests were on champion bounties and events, I am not good enough to solo leggies with anything.
