Please fix the Glyph of Reaping so that it works for visitors to home instances. It is useless if just the owner can use it because he will be held up by visitors who cannot.

Not a bug.

  • The September 17, 2019 patch disabled the Glyph of Reaping in instances for players who are not instance owners. This mainly applies to visiting other people's home instances to harvest their home instance nodes. Guild halls are unaffected.

There are various sorts of bugs.

This is a design bug.

Curious as to why its turned off when visiting anothers home for nodes? Does not make sense to have a nice Qol glyph disabled.

Afaik it was turned of to fix an exploit, as the glyph couldn't differ between ascended and normal plants of the garden plot and so people planted one normal so all visitors with the glyph could then harvest the ascended plants without the need to replant them.

Sounds like introducing a bug to fix another bug.

This is not a reason to disable the glyph of reaping on ore and lumber nodes in home instances.

Uncool ANET.

I am still holding onto hope that this will be fixed, rather than nerfed as it has been for years now. It does make the use of it pointless for the home instance owner, as they are there and waiting for the other to finish up.

I would like to see this fixed, TBH vice what is in place now.

So rather than fix the actually bug they just blanket disabled part of the system. Sad!

I agree with patching exploits as quickly as possible. However, after 4 years, this patch needs repair itself: The instance owner, while sharing the home instance, promotes the player-helping player and friendly game that GW2 is, this patch negates those efforts, IMHO.

What I am hoping to accomplish here is a group of like-minded individuals in order to bring Anet's attention to this, bringing a better patch, or a fix to the actual issue, vice leaving the quick-fix put in place in '19.

I think it is particularly annoying that you can use all the other glyphs in someone else's Home Instance but not this one, and it does not come with a warning that it cannot be used in someone else's home when you buy it.

But that said I'm thinking the bug that caused it to be disabled is of such insignificance that it like 9,999 on the list of minor bugs to fixed at some point in the year 2040. 🤣🤷‍♀️Such is life.
