Yeah, that is what happens when something is bad and continues to get worse.Or nostalgia. Everything was so much better in the past. Or not.

I'm not sure if you can still search the old forums but you can still google 'dragonhunter overpowered' among others and you will see 10 times the amount of threads than the ones we currently have about Scourge.

Which goes to show you they dropped yet another expansion without the proper testing. Why doesn't this game have a PTR? Maybe Arena Net really HATES player feedback.

Do you see as many threads about pvp rewards and not being able to make gold off pvp anymore? No.Do you see threads about not having seasons/LB? No.Do you see threads about not being able to queue outside of HotM? No.

You know why? Because those things were finally addressed. Among many other things (including class balance issues). Happy players don't post, they play game.Of course there will be complains because game is not perfect and always changes. Problem is is that under the line it got generally worse. If the only way to attract players to pvp is to add farmable legendary than it speaks volumes about state of the game mode.
