Mattahood.9423
With the addition of the academic and astral decorations I was finally able to complete my master plan for my guild hall of a university composed of 4 different “colleges;” one for each element. Thank you to ANet, by the way, for giving us new decorations that are useful for making constructions, even if they are a bit spendy (but not as spendy as the Wiki makes them appear – I think they reduced the amount of “precurser” decorations you need for each piece as the Wiki says 5 library shelves, for instance, but the academic walls only require 1) With that, Allow me to present The Rise Consortium of Alchemy and the Arcane barba non facit philosophum The Narthex of the Celestial Students of all races and background are welcomed by Lyssa to the endless possibilities of Nature, the mind and imagination. https://imgur.com/C57YN69 https://imgur.com/uGdOU0d https://imgur.com/lhgJAGM And if a brave student is able to employ the oakheart/portal,/way point jump they may find themselves at the mad hatter tea party or sailing into the impossible on the vessel of dreams. https://imgur.com/1hePj9Z https://imgur.com/4yO791N The Repository of Knowledge Watched over by Kormir, the Repository or Knowledge contains and immense collection of works on subjects from the sublime to the mundane as well as a comfortable reading area by the fire. https://imgur.com/Mvqh7gm The Collegium of Water Students who value the gentler, healing arts may find their life path in the Collegium of Water where Dwayna, the goddess of healing presides. https://imgur.com/IDVQ6ZB https://imgur.com/YXpSgIb The Citadel of Air High in the clouds, Grenth is the master of the Citadel of Air. philosophy, literature, and the theoretical sciences are explored here. https://imgur.com/6fcoN8H The Bastion of Fire On a more mundane level, devotees of Balthazar learn and practice the physical sciences, mechanics and inventions both destructive and constructive. https://imgur.com/mjmS157 https://imgur.com/7uUfm5t (sorry about the quality of that image - because of the height it is very hard to get a good screen shot The Conservatory of Earth Those who love life in all its forms will appreciate the Conservatory of Earth where they study biology, botany, geology and poetry. Melandru is the patron of this college. https://imgur.com/lWmDt8O https://imgur.com/jJsijTO https://imgur.com/6Bj4BB7 Thanks for viewing and thanks again to Anet for many enjoyable hours constructing these places P.S If someone has a lot of time, and gold, the new academic pieces would lend themselves very well to a sort of Downton Abbey kind of building. Up that high in the hall, though, you do get a beautiful blue sky. The only ones I edited were the Collegium of Water as that area is so dark, even in the daytime, since the change to DX that it is impossible to get a decent screen shot So Increased the brightness and contrast a bit. Sugar Min.5834
Oh I forgot those snow piles do look like floating clouds from a distance and you can't see the flat bottom from a bird's eye view and that clear blue sky at the top of Glided Hollow, sorry I never had the chance to go that high up in that hall. Really clear blue sky 😦 Thanks for replying.
Mattahood.9423
you can also put fog machines in the show piles for a softer cloud effect but stylistically I kind of like it better without the fog machines since I wanted more of a storybook effect. with fog mmachines on
Sugar Min.5834
Oh you are right, they look better without the fog. Story book picture perfect! ☁️
