  1. Thank you for these videos. I often get so involved in doing things that I forget to look at the scenery. This is a nice reminder and exploration of the beauty and detail of this marvelous game.
  2. just a quick comment: It is true the awakened inquest in kourna do not count as awakened. They do, however, count as inquest. It would kind of be unfair to count them as both
  3. I have never leveled this way but, if I recall correctly, there are only 2 or 3 HPs in HOT that would be likely be deadly to a low level at range so I doubt he would have needed to be rezzed too much.
  4. I level my key farmers on Grothmar. Just did one today and got completion credit so must be some other issue?
  5. We did wait for it to finish - and well beyond. Still, the only one to get credit was the one who opened the instance.
  6. Last night 4 members of our guild did shiverpeaks strike for the wizard vault weekly strike. Only the person who opened the strike mission received credit. We had to do the run 4 times in order for each of us to get credit for the vault. Don't know if this affects other strike missions or not.
  7. there is also a miniature ram that looks quite cute. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mini_Ram You can get it for two miniature claim tickets which you can get for black lion statuettes from the black lion chests.
  8. Sorry for not being on long at a time. I just finished radiation for kitten ( a very treatable kind) and it left me anemic so I feel very tired very fast. Should go away in a week or two then i can be on longer
  9. I don't knows where he is in the other halls but in gilded he is in the arena lobby. The other teem coordinators send you to the arena but this one lets you switch teams without doing so. arena proprietor lets you choose which skills to use
  10. OK. Not sure what your point is. I was certainly not stating it cost everyone that much or assuming everyone went into crafting the rune with no mats in the bank. I was simply expressing my pleasant surprise that I went into crafting the rune thinking I would have to spend several hundred gold and finding that different cost saving measures cut it down to about 200.
  11. I read somewhere that they all give the same chance of delivering a charm. But I did not want to risk it so I used silver fed. I got 29 charms from 192 relics which comes out to a rate of one charm every 6.6 salvages. Some other details: The charm each one can drop is the same that is used in the crafting recipe for that relic so if you need a specific charm check the crafting recipe. I picked daredevil because it gives skill (the most expensive) and does not require scrolling down in the chest of power screen - and when opening 180 chests, not scrolling for each one is important. Overall, with the charms already in my inventory, the mats I already had and the charms for salvaging and mats from laurels the legendary rune cost me a little over 200 gold. A lot less than the 800 gold I saw someone else mention it can cost.
  12. Also, a note, relics can give charms also. I got about 1 charm for every 6-7 relics I salvaged and with more than 60 level 80s that saved me a ton of money. Since relics will essentially be useless if you have a legendary one might as well salvage and make or save money (hint relic of the daredevil has a chance to drop charm of skill which is currently the most expensive of the three)
  13. No, no, no. they have a chance to drop a charm when salvaged. Don't delete - salvage them
  14. Also, don't forget that relics have a chance to drop a charm when salvaged and, since they will presumably be useless when the legendary relic comes out, might as well make them useful now. with more than 60 level 80 toons I got 180 relic chests above what i needed for builds on my main toons and salvaged at a about 1 charm for every 6-7 relics. That saved a ton on making the legendary rune. Hint: relic of the daredevil gives charm of skill, the most expensive of the three.
  15. Gilded Hollow is the one I know the best. It probably has the most hidden areas because the architecture creates a lot of little nooks and crannies. One area that is not hidden but does not get the credit it deserves is the mid level caverns. People often do not explore there because it is off the beaten path but it has a couple of abandoned temples, a gloomy area that would be great for mushrooms, a couple of sand cascades and a delightful little bubbling pool. Any one who has not visited the area should make the effort to do so. As to actually hidden areas, my favorite is a small room south of the mine. Instead of going in the mind you go above it until you come to a doorway with stairs leading down. Instead of taking the stair, jump off the stairs in the crevice to the left (as you are facing the stairs). You will see a grey wall, a gold wall and a rock wall. Aim for the junction of the gold and rock walls as you glide down and there is small opening that will lead to the room. It has kind of a circular design on the floor and a few steps. Some of the walls in the room are not solid, by the way, enabling you to get a good view of the endless sea. By the way, if you do go down the stairs there is a room about half way down with a fireplace that would be a nice spot to decorate as a house. There was also one small room overlooking the main area that was reachable from the arena way point. I used to use it to store decorations i was not using at the moment but did not want others to use. But I can not remember how to get there for the life of me. And, of course, there are a number of out of bound area but I won't list any as it is against forum rules.
  16. yeah i was disappointed about the sheets not being slippery. Would have been a nice ice skating pond. And, too expensive. Between this and the kryptis/astral/academic decorations I hope this is not a trend.
  17. one tip i did not see here, while leveling kill all neutral creatures (the one titles in yellow). The longer a creature has been on a map the more xp it gives and people often just leave the neutral creature alone so they often have a considerable amount of xp to give.
  18. already linked this in another thread but here are three pictures so you can see the size relative to the gilded hollow hall https://imgur.com/z0opYbM https://imgur.com/22G4lpm https://imgur.com/oWRiriu
  19. updated wintersday in the guild hall with the scarred ice: https://imgur.com/z0opYbM https://imgur.com/oWRiriu https://imgur.com/22G4lpm
  20. here are the new decorations. I put them in the air on a long straight race track piece so you can see the size and that they drop below the base on which they are placed. Don't know what I will do with them as they do not fit with any of my wintersday decorations. scarred spike, scarred ice sheet, scarred ice monolith different angle
  21. Sorry have not been on much - work and chemo have kind of worn me out these days. I think Gilded Hollow has so many hidden spots because it was intended to duplicate a complex cave system with several different bioms. You can find find everything from hidden waterfalls to a bit of desert to a cave that looks perfect for moss and mushrooms. That is why I have kept gilded Hollow even though Lost precipice is easier to actually decorate.
  22. Sorry, I really had to go and get some sleep. I was nodding off in my chair. Invitation sent from guild leader account. But, as I said, we are not real active.
  23. if you have a full mastery for the springer and griffin, here is a link to a video. He does, at one point, step on a snow pile but i suspect you could do it without that. getting to the top of gilded hollow without decorations
  24. There are several ways to get there depending on what is available to you. If your guild has a fractal console you can use nova transformation and just float up. My favorite way is the oakheart/waypoint jump but it would take a little explaining to do. But it is a real blast. I still use it a lot even though i now have portals set up. (I also made sure there is small area of decorations that can only be reached by this method or the nova transformation.) A sky scale can get you there. There is an opening in a cliff north west of the northern way point that will help you find a path to the top - kind of hard to explain here. Or, start from the arena and go east and using ledges to recharge as well as cliff hanging and bond of vigor, just keep working your way higher. Again, stay near the sunbeam that comes straight down as the will lead to an opening to the top. Probably the easiest but slowest is to create steps using decorations like the super clouds. Put 3-5 of them together in a step pattern, climb to the top and delete the lower ones, replacing them in a step pattern leading further up. start in the center of the guild hall just south of the wp and kind of keep near the sun beam that shines straight down as it leads to an opening that in in the top of the hall. To do this, of course, you will need decorator permission. Before skyscales this was probably the most common way. If you have decorator permission (and from your signature it looks like you do) remember to get a djinn portal exit and a djinn portal entrance so you can place the exit at the top and not have to work your way up again.
  25. That is one thing I do like about Isle of Reflection, the buildings that give it a village feel and make for nice scenes like your wintersday ones. Very lovely. Not really wintersday but I redid my tavern to a winter scene, also to make it smaller using kryptis walls instead of academic. In spite of the kind of creepy walls it gives a more warm, cozy feel inside in the middle of winter, I think (although, someone seems to have tracked in a bit of snow). I would have liked to put a wintersday tree inside but I have learned that once you reach max decorations for an area you might not be able to replace anything you remove.
