CBomb.3059 Posted April 9 Share Posted April 9 I've been trying to purchase gems via PayPal for a few weeks. Nothing has worked. I've removed all payment options since a previous post said to do that (2022), and I've already contacted support and they've gone through and eventually said it was "not from their end." I'm lost at what to do and thought I should see if anyone else in the community has an idea. The error code I keep getting is 80004 with the message "Something went wrong, please try again later! 80004 https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/articles/4409418445843." Again, I have removed my payment options several times, all my bank/card information on PayPal hasn't changed since the last time it worked, and I couldn't find anything to assist me. Oh well. Some other situations where people reported having this issue in the past was due to browser security/javascript restrictions or attempting to purchase from a "blocked" country. You're not behind any sort of network proxy, are you? For another guy it was his card that was blocking the transaction automatically. I've tried to change from PayPal Credit to each debit/credit card I have...Just doesn't want to work through PayPal even though a few months ago it worked just fine. When I clicked on adding PayPal as a payment, it loads up another window and that's where you can change it to whatever payment method you want. So you mean in game. What I'm asking is when was the last time you logged into PayPal? It might be the case that something changed on PayPal's end that you have to go to PayPal directly to address. I've logged into PayPal today (and several times in the past few weeks). There's no notifications or anything that pops up for me to update on PayPal. You've done more help than support has to be honest. Last week with them there was no progress. If you think of anything else about PayPal, let me know. SoftFootpaws.9134 Posted April 11 Share Posted April 11 (edited) if you're trying to go through paypal "for safety" then its likely not needed as the company arenanet uses is already a subsidary of paypal, i believe. though, that also makes it especially strange that you're having so much trouble with it!
