Drake.1840
I went to great lengths to carefully place my alts around my Homestead with some roleplay elements in mind (i.e., an alt character in a chef outfit in my kitchen, etc.). As soon as I left the instant and returned, they were all in random locations again. Surely this isn't intended? Otherwise, why can we move alts at all? Is anyone else having this issue? Is this intended? Edited September 12 by Drake.1840
Foxypuff.2596
It's intended for the alts to be moved back to their default locations in the homestead after leaving. 1

Flatley.1620
I've "put" all my alts into my homestead. However, when I go back, not all of them actually appear. Do they hide? * I know they sort of move around a bit... .... in fact, it would be nice to see them walking around. And if ranger pets (perhaps their currently selected ones) could also be on display. *Edit: I found all the visible alts I could find and got them to follow me to an open area ten had them all stay put. Out f the thirteen characters I have, two are completely missing. Edited September 13 by Flatley.1620

One of them may be on the raptor, especially if it's one of the medium armor ones.

Inculpatus cedo.9234
From the Wiki: Players can place their characters in the homestead by logging out while in the instance.[4] Regardless of the total placed in the homestead, only 30 random characters will be visible while in the homestead. The characters will appear in several default locations: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/c/c7/Guardian_icon_small.png Guardians, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/45/Warrior_icon_small.png Warriors, and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/4c/Revenant_icon_small.png Revenants can be found outdoors near the house. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/07/Engineer_icon_small.png Engineers, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/1/1e/Ranger_icon_small.png Rangers, and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/a/a0/Thief_icon_small.png Thieves can be found across the bridge to the South, by the path to the asura gate hub. The adventurer character that was most recently placed in the homestead will be mounted on the Raptor and cannot be instructed to Follow or Stay. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/4e/Elementalist_icon_small.png Elementalists, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/1/10/Necromancer_icon_small.png Necromancers, and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/7/79/Mesmer_icon_small.png Mesmers can be found in an open cave slightly Southeast of the farm, accessed via stone steps in the cliff. The instance owner can instruct characters to "Follow/Stay", but they will return to several default locations upon next entry. If multiple characters are instructed to "Follow", they will attempt to align themselves symmetrically in a row on either side of the player (up to 12 on each side) when standing still. Maryth.9372
When I discovered this, I stopped putting my alts in my homestead. I want them where I want them. If they won't stay, it only makes me sad to find them in places that are so random. (Standing in the corner facing a wall at the cabin) Sad Face.....
Ashantara.8731
Yes, it is indeed a useless "feature" at this point.
