Rubberbanding mini map

This has been an issue for years, probably since release: Sometimes, for no apparant reason, when you try to move the mini map via right mouse button, it rubberbands back to your current location.

What is up with that? It truly annoys the hell out of me... :angry:

It soo annoying I know... It seems to have something to do with your character moving, at least that's when it happens for me.

No no no, I meant while standing still.

P.S. I know that the map re-adjusts to center on your character when you move on foot (too bad it doesn't when you are mounted... another annoying bug).

It didn't happen for me last year. Kinda started with PoF for me.

Really? I have encountered this issue randomly for years.

i can constant reproduce the rubberbanding mini map over the years with this method

1. start mining / chopping on a node
2. move your mini map
3. upon the final (3rd) action on the node, mini map will start rubberbanding

That is not what I meant, either. I mean standing completely still, no action in progress, yet upon trying to move the map it instantly rubberbands back to your current location.
