Can we please finally get a Rime-Rimmed Mariner's Rebreather wardrobe skin?

Since the new swim speed infusions can only be slotted into ascended aqua breather, can we really need a wardrobe skin for https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rime-Rimmed_Mariner%27s_Rebreather. I would love to keep using this skin with the ascended aqua breather.

Yep. I also don't like that it's soulbound. It's not something you can just get in 5 minutes, craft as many times as you want, or get any time of the year. So being able to switch it between characters would've been a nice feature.

The problem, though, is that the effect is tied to the object, not the skin. So carrying it over to another object would probably be more work than usual, if it is feasible at all. But yeah, now that they have put more focus on ascended aquabreathers, this exotic one is put in a rather awkward situation. Perhaps they could make it so we can upgrade it into an ascended version. Perhaps that would be more within the realm of possibility and not take up too much dev time to implement.

Another thing is that we could salvage the rime rimmed breather and get an infusion or something that will carry the particle effects and just apply it to the ascended breather.

The problem is, soulbound items can't be salvaged. I doubt they would change that code just for 1 item to be salvageable.
