Dragon Priestess.9760
I have heard that there is a data cache that builds up over time, and that clearing it frees up a good chunk of space to no affect on the game itself. Does anyone remember what that cache is called and where it is in my files? I haven't touched any of that stuff since I started a little over a year ago... Healix.5819
In the %temp% folder (enter %temp% into a folder's address bar and press enter), GW2 will create folders beginning with gw2cache to store temporary data used by the launcher, trading post and gem store. A new folder will be created with every patch and these folders can range from a few KB to a few hundred MB.The other "cache" is Local.dat, which can be found under %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/. This is where your hardware-related settings (login, graphics, sound) and patch information is stored. The file will bloat over time, which may affect load times and cause other odd problems. A new file is around 20~30MB, ~50 is normal, 100+ is bad.
