Nesmyr.7140
I have extremely good connection but the download speed never exceeds 2MB/s. The percentages wont change nor the remaining files amount, unless I close and re-open the downloader. Is this just the way it is now or is something wrong?I've tried command line -assetsrv 54.84.216.160, and couple of other ones suggested here, but they did absolutely nothing. Inculpatus cedo.9234
Did you look up the current IP address for the server? It changes quite often.
Nesmyr.7140
Ehm, nope? I only found some old threads regarding same issues and used the Ip's listed there. Where am I able to find their main server ip ?
Nesmyr.7140
I cannot leave it to download overnight because a) It is so slow that one night isnt enough and b) it always stops after downloading for an hour or two. Just completely stops at 0Kb/s

Nesmyr.7140
I have tried altering the Hosts file. Its no use. After whole night of 8 hours of downloading it is still stuck at 0% and over 200 000 files left. It has been a week now.
Healix.5819
The -assetsrv option is still broken/disabled.Remove any lines added to your host file, then add the following line and save it:127.0.0.1 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.comLaunch GW2. It should now fail to connect. Close GW2. Remove the above line, then add the following and save it:52.202.189.208 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.comLaunch GW2.If it's still having problems, delete Local.dat (under %appdata%/Guild Wars 2 and/or Documents/Guild Wars 2), then launch GW2 with the following options (and the hosts edit still applied):-log -patchconnections 1If it's stuck, let it sit for ~5 minutes, then exit GW2 and view Gw2.log under %appdata%/Guild Wars 2Remember to remove the hosts edit when you're done.-Ideally, if speed is your main concern, you'd want to find your own patch server. To find them, open and command prompt (cmd.exe) and enter:nslookup assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.comnslookup assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com 8.8.8.
Nesmyr.7140
I've tried that too now, no effect the download is still unbearably slow. It has been downloading nonstop for well over 20 hours now, Installer says now that there are still over 200 000 files left and 1% progress. It's not stuck per se, it does download something and the file amount goes down every time i close and reopen the client, albeit just a little. While it states that the game is playable some areas just wont download, foreground or background and thus I cannot play properly.EDIT: As of now, for some reason the download speed went up and the file amount started going down in real time fashion. Maybe something did work after all, since for the first time I'm witnessing the progress bar rising up and the file number going down. For a 1GB/500MB connection that downloads files from steam well over 100MB/s this GW2 installer is ridiculously slow....
Tukaram.8256
I just got a new PC last week. It took the entire week to download the game... I just let it go. I blamed my lousy (Philippine) internet. Maybe it was not all my ISPs fault ha ha ?
Nesmyr.7140
I'm currently downloading at 3MB/s, maximum and it only stays at that speed for a minute at most.... This must be some kind of sick joke.EDIT: Now that i have closely observed its behaviour it downloads fine for the first 30-60seconds when reopening the launcher, then it slows down significantly, eventually halting completely at 0KB/s. 00000685: Perf: Build 10403300000685: Perf: 2020-05-27T13:31:01Z00000685: Perf: Platform 100001015: Perf: Archive has version 1 header00010851: Perf: Deleted 0 old files.00011528: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 17952 13:31:12.454324 [16712:17952:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(528)] Failed to load C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\bin64\ui_resources_100_percent.pakSome features may not be available.00011528: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 17952 13:31:12.454324 [16712:17952:WARNING:resource_bundle.cc(252)] locale_file_path.empty()00011554: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 17952 13:31:12.491332 Requesting resource read for coui://cookies.dat with internal id 0 reported FAIL00011718: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 16552 13:31:12.665371 [16700:12928:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(528)] Failed to load C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\bin64\ui_resources_100_percent.pakSome features may not be available.00011718: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 16552 13:31:12.665371 [16700:12928:WARNING:resource_bundle.cc(252)] locale_file_path.empty()00011793: Debug: Coherent Warning: PID: 16712 | 17952 13:31:12.755392 Requesting resource read for coui://web/launcher/arenanet/images/mini-dragon.raw.png with internal id 6 reported FAIL00011868: Debug: Web Message (launcher.js:2): onShowLauncher00011868: Debug: Web Message (launcher.js:2): onSetPreferences00011868: Debug: Web Message (launcher.js:2): onSetLanguage00011893: Debug: Web Message (launcher.js:2): onPasswordHash00016626: Error: Invalid Content-Range HTTP response for: 0x001226b0(u).
