maxfeelswell.8370
Hi, I saw someone here asking for fashion advice and I liked the replies so Im trying the same. My current main is the guardian in the screenshots and although I dont like the hairstyle at all anymore I dont think it disturbs the overall look too much. I dont have very many skins yet because Im a newer player but I want to make this character kinda Scifi-technician-technomancerish xD I run Sword+focus mainly and sometimes swap to scepter+shield. All weapons currently dont use skins that fit the look well at all but the most annoyed I am by the look of the back. It looks naked and the only thing I liked from the wardrobe backs was the wyrm breath cape which Im probably never gonna get because Im not ready to spend 100s of euros for lootbox gambling 😄 So looking for help mainly for a sword and a back first and foremost but Im also open for advice for all other parts. Thanks alot !https://gyazo.com/a7ea5dfe8b113e78694b15d7b58ee0dc https://gyazo.com/2cd3724d69e81fff957741c7232bda5f Edited June 21, 2021 by maxfeelswell.8370
Danikat.8537
I think what you've got looks really good, especially for someone who doesn't have many skins unlocked. It certainly looks different to what I think of as a typical guardian. Here's some ideas for swords, I've tried to bear in mind your colour scheme as much as possible and stay away from harder to get or more expensive skins. Adamant Guard Blade - probably the easiest to get but may be a bit chunky. Holographic Zap - Dragon Bash starts tomorrow and you just have to do the daily achievements 5 times to get it. Royal Flame Sword - maybe not quite what you had in mind, but I think it could fit and guardians do use a lot of fire skills. Holosmith's Sword - this one would definitely fit, but to get it you'd have to get an engineer to level 80 and start (but not complete) training the Holosmith specialisation. Kaiser Snake Sword - I think this would fit, but it's only available from Super Adventure Box in April. Back items are harder, I don't think there's really anything like the Wyrmbreath Cape. Nearest I could find was the Nightspeaker Wings (which are dyable). You can get the Wyrms Breath Cape without gambling an unknown amount of money by using statuettes, but it will be slow and/or expensive. Statuettes only come from Black Lion Chests, but they're a guarenteed drop, so you know how much it will cost (or the maximum it will cost, there's a chance you'll get more than 1 statuette from a chest). It would cost 5,100 gems to buy 60 keys, or if you have a spare character slot you can run a new character through the level 10 story once per week to get a guarenteed free key, or a bit of both. Once you've got the statuettes however you'll need to wait for the cape to come back onto the statuette vendor.
mikansei.5742
First things first: here's the galleries of (human) heavy armor sets, back skins, and weapon skins by weapon type. God bless the wiki's image galleries 💖 The Steam and Glyphic weapons will be the cheapest option - they're common low-level drops that are on the trading post for a couple silver each. Not very flashy, but a nice cheap stopgap. Some of the Stormcaller weapons might match, but they're 10-20 gold apiece on the TP. Skins that cost karma, Peacemaker's, purple asura-themed, and Adamant Guard, steampunky charr-themed - but they cost an absolute boatload of karma apiece. Dungeon sets that require account-bound dungeon tokens: Sorrow's Embrace, red inquest-themed reskins of Glyphic weapons, and Crucible of Eternity, red inquest-themed reskins of expensive Mystic weapons. Black Lion sets, whose skins you can buy on the TP but which may be very expensive: Inquest Mark II, Aetherized (the skins, not the actual weapons), Scientific & Plasma. The easiest backpack skins to get are the crafting backpacks, of which probably only armorsmith or weaponsmith would match well. (Maybe jeweler?) There are lots of gemstore backpack & glider skins that are asura tech or charr/steam themed, but I don't want to link too much gemstore stuff incase you don't want to be tempted to spend that much money, lol. TheAgedGnome.7520
Note that you can preview all weapons/armor skins right in your Bank. Go to your Bank, go to bottom tab Wardrobe Storage and you can then view all possible weapons and armor skins.
maxfeelswell.8370
Thank you so much guys - the gw2 community is awesome ! You all helped me a ton, especially with your links. For the wyrms breath cape for 60 lions statues. Is that something that is always reoccurring from time to time ? If yes I likely wait for that. For the sword I kinda love the holosmith sword and the legendary one but the latter might take long to get and I planned on trying engineer anyways soon 🙂
