He freed Balthazar by unchaining him in the mists. In both cases it was pretty clear that it was destined to happen.I think ANET really missed an opportunity for a light moment there in her library. As the Goddess of Truth, Kormir could hardly blame Rytlock for making the same mistake she did. This is why she merely poked at him a little for it.
