  1. There is story overlap, as in Asura experimented on Sylvari, but that's not enough reason
  2. I wish they would fill up the ones from the sylvari and asura. I believe they both share one set.
  3. I made a Sylvari themed Sylvari recently and it was shocking how there weren't many skins fitting that theme. Even with gemstore.
  4. I understand that the wizards are the great protectors from the shadows, that gather magical artifacts and hide them/use them for good. However, what i noticed is, that their equipment feels rather random. I think this is the first group who's equipment doesn't really make sense to me. We got weapons that look like toys (skyscale) and some rather weird lightning weapons. I understand that they might want to create a feeling of we picked the best and they are using their own stuff, but then it's not random enough and it goes against them having a uniform (wizard robes and rift hunter). On one hand they want to push the new equipment, you can get, however i feel like that is as random. Do we have a place that is lightning based? A specific character that forges with lightning? The skyscales kinda make sense, but then they feel rather niche in terms of design. The shattered ones fit the theme, but i'm unsure how they are connected to the wizards, as we don't have any shattered areas. Most we see isn't destroyed. Even the new ones with the living eye and tentacle don't fit (yet) as the color sheme isn't there in the art. We got red, brown dark. I know it's nothing major, but these cracks are the things that pile up and break the experience.
  5. i think i didnt get any of these, despite how many events i did there (not many, but given how many are needed for crafting, it's pitiful)
  6. My personal grief is, that we not only see barely any other kryptis on "our side", but the ones we see are also the same models we already see all the time. It would have been nice, if we would have seen at least some kind of village, or place that Peitra reigns. That we entered her part of the realm first, before jumping head first into a frontline away from everything. The whole thing feels so feeble. I don't even know what our goal is on the first map. Okay that's not true. Since this is the last map, this will be our Dragon Stand/Gyala Delve/Charr Civil war/etc., which means the push to Eparch is the story of this map. One frontline, after the next. We won't get a real feel of how this place looks or feels. Same for it's inhabitants.
  7. I don't mind a map opening up, as long as there is enough content or story in that part of the map. The IBS expansion was great. Each part had enough content to stay on it's own. The story there didn't have many holes or felt too rushed, etc. The current patch more or less just dumps us in the new endgame map, without much aclimatisation. etc. The map is mostly barren. Aside from the meta, there is just random lore to find and some events. It's the minimum you can do with a map and that's what hurts
  8. The first part was good. This patch, however, was very underwhelming. Story and contentwise. If the follow up stuff is in the same vein, I don't really feel like we are on the same level as before. It's heavily frontloaded, with a drip fed follow up, if that's the case. My problem is mostly that the stuff we got with this patch, didn't feel complete. The story feels rushed and the enviromental storytelling not compelling. It's like we missed some crucial points, to push into a Endgame map/meta, without a proper build up. I like what i see on borad cope, but i don't like how it's done
  9. A group of people, pulled into the very realm of things, they struggle to keep at bay at the moment. A group of people who got knocked out and pulled in the last time we saw them. This group of people was stranded there, in a hostile enviroment, with only the help of two Kryptis. Even if one of them is powerful, she didn't seem to be around all the time. We also see these "specialized people" lamenting their losses again and aagain. That this is supposed to be a threat to be taken seriously. That they need the numbers and are struggling. Why should be take the Kryptis threat seriously, if a small group can survive, without any visible aid on a supposed frontline? Even if they are highly trained, there are limits.
  10. It's a new portal in the wizard tower, one of the blue ones. You either need a squad, or wait for the public ones
  11. The whole story is rushed here. We go from deciding to help Peitha, to fending off an invading force and jumping after in Neijos, cutting our preperations short (so far, so good) Then we are at a camp, with people who are supposed to be dead, in an hostile enviroment and also the frontline of an assault, that doesn't have much explanation given and visually doesn't reflect that. A puny camp and two Kryptis on our side (3 with the one we save) vs the rest? That's not a good presentation. They rushed us into the last part of a story and ignored setting things up. There needed to be a place to experience Naiyos, before rushing into the endgame. How about Peithas home, a village she protects, anything bigger than a small camp. Anything that gives us a feeling for the place. The alienation I feel right now, is mostly because what I see is not fitting with what I am told and what I am told is not enough to wave away my disbelief.
  12. So, you don't want to play the game... Skills are often locked behind story... that's not a new concept. I would agree if it was something very hard to get, but rewarding players is a way to have them interact with the game. A skill is a good way to do so and it's really not that hard to get. If you made it through the other parts of the game, this should really be easy for you. Even as a new player. Also, you can just buy a jade core on TP.
  13. It's not what i expected to be honest. it's a raid rehash of the one story bosses. From the description, I thought it was more a survival type. You get into a hostile area and work together to survive, while things crumble down around you and the longer you survive as a group, the more rewards you get. This is just a straight up normal boss encounter, with a few stages. It doesn't feel that exciting, based on the description.
  14. Way too many things, that aren't explained well and cost intensive for one player and/or small groups. It's not interesting enough, to be worth your time.
  15. I expected at least some mount/glider skin, offset the lack of them earnable in game, but nope. here we are. Seems like last time was a fluke
  16. The update is more disapointing for me. Mostly because that's basically it for three months and if the others are the same, than it's not a good direction. However, let's start with the good. The map design is nice, i like the aesthetics and direction they went there. The new meta is fun, but easily broken if you know what to do some suprising rewards, though that one weaponset with the eyes feels kinda random, as it's not fitting anything in the new area. QoL stuff. Bascially everything that is not neccessary bound to the release, is great. That's unfortunatly it, for me. Now to the bad. It's way too short and the set up for the immediate conflict is very badly presented and delivered. We get a premise, but as soon we are there, we get nothing. The map is way too small, even if it's revealed in three parts. This is not the level we are usually getting. The map is too harmless. For something titled demon realm (even though there is the *it's not what you expected* line), it should still be dangerous. Magguma is way more dangerous to walk around than this place. The map makes not a lot of sense in this part of the story. A little camp is suppsedly a frontline for a siege, that we just get thrown into. It does nothing in term of immersion. it's like we are thrown into dragons stand, without any buildup. Where are Peithas people? Who are her people? How is the geography of this place? Why are we attacking here? What are we defending? Etc. We get *here are your people, now go attack that guy over there*. it's flimsy, it's not immersive, it's not even the bare minimum for a story like that. New armor set is okay, but again the same for all weightclasses. Disapointing. No enemy variety. We fight the same stuff, we fought before, or at least the new stuff doesn't stand out. After the big guy in Amnitas, it is kinda underwehlming. Overall the update is a stepdown from the parts before on almost every level. This doesn't bode well. This map is the last for this storyline and it's not delivering. I went in loving the scenery, then getting hit with the realization that there it's just windowdressing for the big meta, we get the next few months. This is kinda sad
  17. I would love some cultural armor, that is available for all races. An armor from one race to another
  18. The map is fine, but the bosses are not really fun and take way too long. Even more so with less population now. The bosses don't really need much from you, though you can die easily and barely feel like you are making a dent. The pendulum swings both ways here and it's more annoying than challenging. Which is weird, because they made some fun bosses beforehand in EoD and this one is just an AoE fest
  19. Aparently a handful of Rift Hunter is enough to count as a frontline. This is just weird. If we got brought to Peithas *city/village* that's under siege, i would hav understood it. Heck, we could have gone full on 7 Samurai there, but we have nothin really here. It's like Dragonstand, without any of the buildup beforehand. Overall, too much is rushed is missing set up. While i'm impressed how much they cramped into the first chapters and maps, I'm baffled how loose everything is now. The many cracks in worldbuilding before, that could be kinda handwaved, don't really work here. It's not a matter of *i don't trust these characters*, it's more, like i don't see anything that i can trust, because there is too much conflicting information.
  20. The whole thing feels like they went too big in concept, without really thinking about certain implications and/or possible pay offs. Given their history they dabble in dark and mature stories, but end up not having the reccources or time to actually have them matter. EoD was such a thing, with Ankkah. A very disturbing character, ending up weirdly as Scarlet 2.0 in my book, scaling the same level of OP. For SotO we got some classic tropes of unreliable magical greatness, with a dash of mind manipulation. Which is finde, but we handle it way too much like an saturday morning cartoon, as to expect much in the end. This results in me not trusting the writers and/or the delivery, than anything the throw at me. There are so many things that can be, but ultimately won't and that's the thing that taes a lot of wind out of my enjoyment. The recent 3 chapters were like that. Nayos being cozy and a small group to easily being able to survive there, only being helped by two shown kryptis is shattering the image they tried to create. Even excluding gamepay difficulty, what we get to see isn't lining up with what we are told, though that could be the reccources. Overall I like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they try to deliver that kind of story, where in the end eveyone is trying to backstab us, as they are all looking out for themselves, for their own values and all kinda having a point, but I don't think we get that. Hints, but not in a way that it does deserve
  21. I noticed the store was a bit laggy when I got on. I still bought 5 keys, but got delivered 10 (2x5). The shop was laggy when i bought them and I only got charged for 5. I won't use this keys, till I get told it's safe to do so (I only wanted 5 after all, but if it's okay, I won't say no) I also clicked the heroic booster promotion which also got send two times to me. I won't touch these either, till I got feedback. I also send a support ticket, for both occasions.
  22. There are Tengu in the pact. Not many, but there are. The vanilla story even has one as a prominent character at one point and Hot brings him back in Verdant Brink and I believe dragon stand
  23. Somewhwat underwhelmed. They held back too much and I feel the legendary stuff was a big mistake. It was mostly a big tease, but I dunno what it will be in the end. I expected to see more Cantha
